I would have given this company 5 stars after our bathroom counter installation however we had a very different experience with our kitchen granite countertop installation. The new sink was installed backwards and we were told there was nothing that could be done to fix it besides breaking the granite so we are left with an improperly installed sink. When the measuring was done for the countertop it was known that the wall was not uniformly flat and that it would not be possible to install the backsplash flush to the wall. This was not shared with us until after the install and we now have a backsplash that has almost 1/2 inch of caulking ins some areas that has repeatedly cracked due to the width. Had we known prior to the install we would have chosen another option such as as tile. Communication and customer service during the process of trying to remedy the situation was negligible to nonexistent and we were not able to resolve anything. Fortunately there are many other granite countertop fabricators in the Portland area. I would recommend choosing one of them.

Great - The scheduler was easy to work with - I had to shift the date once to coincide with the appliance delivery and installation.  Dave who came out to do the work was on time, friendly, and competent.  Tidy while doing the work and cleaned up after.  No problems. End result looks great.
I talked to a couple of other companies before finding the Stone Center.  They were all too busy to consider a small job like this.  I did not get any of that hesitation from Stone Center.

I had discussed with the salesman the pros and cons of a pure white quartz counter, knowing that there would be a seam, since the counter was longer than the material's dimension.  I had decided that one seam at the end of the counter, matching one from the cupboard below, would be least noticeable.  When the installer came to make the template he convinced me that the normal place for seams was at the sink.........this confused me since I had been talking to them about this for about 3 months (I am a picky person.)  But he seemed so adamant that I said ok (I am not a stone setter, but I do know about seams in any white material will show significantly more than any other color.)  So the install was done with a total of 5 seams in the sink area, two in the front rail, 2 in the back rail, and one behind the faucet in the back splash.  They were immediately glaring out at me. The color of the seams did not match the quartz, and the seams were not flat, thus catching all the dirt from the sink area and washing up.  This area is brightly lit by a window and light above.  To make a long story shorter, they came back 3 times over several months to try to remedy the situation, but never satisfactorily.  Finally the owner came out and took a look, and was quick to agree that nothing more could be done, and ordered new material, put the seam at the end where I had first suggested and now all is well.  The counter is beautiful, and I am happy which they had said from the beginning was their goal...............could have save themselves lots of time and expense if they had conformed to my request at the onset.  This seems like a no brainer to me, since if they had done it my way at first and I was then unhappy, I would have had to deal with the extra cost myself.................This company does beautiful work, they have worked for us before, I am not sure why this happened.  None the less, now all is well.

We went to Pental and were counseled on options etc.
Then we went to Stone Center and were counseled on additional options etc.
We were shown the slabs of quartz along with other products.
They came out and measured etc. and made a template of the work to be done.
We then met again at the warehouse and were able to pick out the actual slabs to be installed and decide exactly where the template would be fit on each slab.
The actual project start date was delayed because of problems with the tile provider(beyond the control of Stone Center).
Once the job started it was done in a timely manner.
They were friendly and did the job right the first time, with just a couple of small hitches which were later corrected.
They were friendly and knowledgeable, we recommend them to anyone planning this type of project.
One small criticism we have is that we never met the actual project manger and the job was not visited by the project manager.

Stone Center came in and removed our existing laminate and tile countertops, sink, and island cooktop.  Two weeks prior to this they had already come in and taken detailed measurements of our existing countertops.  We then went to their showroom and were able to view our slabs prior to them cutting them.  They were able to coordinate with the company working on our kitchen cabinets, so the work would coincide with one another and we would not be with out a kitchen for an extended length of time.  Once the cabinet work was done, they came in and installed the new quartz countertops.   They did a beautiful job!   The work was very professionally done, and everyone throughout the process was always very friendly and polite.   They hired a sub-contractor, Justin Van D***, to do our slate tile backsplash.   Once again he was a pleasure to work with.   The backsplash looks amazing!   Definitely high-quality work!!  They also did not vary from their original estimate.  We would definitely recommend using Stone Center!  Our new kitchen looks great!

I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE SELECTION AND CARE THAT STONE CENTER GAVE US WHEN WE WERE REMODELING OUR BATHROOM. THEIR SHOWROOM GAVE US A LOT OF IDEAS AND WE WERE ABLE TO CHOOSE EXACTLY WHAT OUR MARBLE WOULD LOOK LIKE.
