professionals and I would recommend them to others.1
Here is my Top 10 List for Why Prospective Customers Should Pick Spectrum Homes:
1. Punctuality. The contractor was on time for everything, and always emailed or phoned me ahead if there were going to be any changes.
2. Ultra-organized. The contractor provided handbook and guide and day-by-day project report.
3. Thoroughness.. The contractor thought of everything.
4. Attention to detail. I can?t find a single thing the contractor left undone.
5. Experience. It shows. His suggestions of things we hadn?t thought of, especially the one for recessed lighting, were exactly what we needed.
6. Subcontractors. They all did quality work and I could see that he runs a tight ship with them.
7. On-time completion. I did not imagine that the project would really be finished on time, or even a little early.
8. On budget. I appreciated being able to know exactly how much we were going to be paying, from start to finish.
9. No horror stories to tell. My husband had heard some from his co-workers, and he has only good stories to tell about ours.
10. Husband thinks I am a genius for picking this company. Priceless.
I must commend Steve for always being available to talk to and address our concerns. If we called he almost always answered or returned the call shortly. I'm a "attention to detail" person and Steve demonstrated that philosophy through the remodeling process.
We are very happy with our new kitchen and hope to use Spectrum Homes in the future remodeling of our bathrooms.
Steve and his team went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect. The bathrooms turned out great and I very happy with the results. I would definitely recommend Spectrum Homes for any remodeling needs. Steve and his team do a great job. This is the second job that they have done for us. They did our kitchen and living room remodel as well. They are fabulous!
My home is a single story home with the kitchen sandwiched between the dining room and family room at one end of the house. There was a breakfast bar between the kitchen and family room, but otherwise the kitchen was cut off from the rest of the house by solid walls, with a narrow opening to the dining room. The dining room was on one side of the main entry, with an additional formal living room on the other side of the main entry. The family room at the back of the house shared an interior wall with the master bedroom. In that wall was a wood-burning metal fireplace. The remodel moved the dining room into the formal living room space, expanded the kitchen into the old dining space (almost doubling the kitchen space), removing the fireplace and turning the space in between the family room and master bedroom into a walk-in closet for the master bedroom.
We did our own demolition, with Steve providing a trailor to haul away the debris. The demolition included removal of a metal, wood-buring fireplace and chimney. During our demolition we broke the seal around the chimney pipe where it penetrated the roof, and didn't notice it. Steve saw the leak and patched it up for us at no cost, since we were planning to remove the chimney entirely during a follow on roof replacement.
I visited the house every 2-3 days during the remodel, and would end up sending Steve an email with a long list of questions about things I noticed. The questions were based on my ignorance of the remodel process nitty-gritty details, not on anything that was going off plan. Steve was very, VERY patient and responsive in answering all my many, MANY questions.
I did ask for some changes during the remodel. I asked for wainscoting, additional interior doors and trim, and baseboard replacements that were not in the original plan. Steve was able to work with the woodworking and painting subcontractors to keep the remodel on schedule, even getting the painters to work during the holiday weekend to keep it all on track.
Steve was diligent about checking with me when there were any questions. Time was scheduled for me to meet with all the subcontractors to review the plans at the beginning, and check in with them during the process. Steve and the subs occasionally had suggestions that they thought would make the final product better, and they were able to clearly explain their suggestions with the pros and cons. As it turned out, I agreed with their suggestions, and am happier with how things turned out.
The project was completed on schedule and I was completely satisfied. Steve and each of the subcontractors provided contact information for any follow-up questions that might arise.
"We repaired the floor where a work light had discolored the floor in the closet and responed to any other issues until member was satisfied."
