Great communication every step of the way. Soil Solutions was fast and efficient. My tank had already been drained and the soil tested years ago, but was not done by a certified company. Felt great to get this all done by DEQ standards. I would definitely hire again!

They were efficient and prompt and considerate of needs of the tenants. The oil tanks were huge and, it turned out, leaking. Soil Solutions promptly removed the tanks, cleared the contaminated dirt, analyzed the soil and basement air, all with professionalism and friendliness. They gave me some discount financially, too. Kept me fully apprised of all details of the situation, and thoroughly explained things to me. Much appreciated!

I have used Soil Solutions before so I went back to them for this work because of my experience with their service. Nic and Cory were the muscle in uncovering my underground oil tank and doing the soil testing. I appreciated that they took the time to explain the process and answered many of my questions.

They were consistent on pricing, dates, and testing. Everything was done professionally and on time. They were able to get my Radon readings from 16 to 1.4. I would highly recommend them.

Soil Solutions did a great job on our underground oil tank decommissioning! They were very clear about the different phases of the project, about what we could expect, various possible outcomes, reporting to DEQ--they offered a lot of information and answered all questions. At no time was there a hard sell. We came back to them for our oil tank decommissioning because they'd done some sewer work for us and we felt that the sewer arm of the company did an excellent job as well. Any time I'm thinking of digging down on my property to some kind of disgusting mess, I think of Soil Solutions!

The whole process of working with Soil Solutions was smooth and easy. Paul our project manager was very responsive, getting back to me right away when I asked to schedule, and keeping us updated at every step throughout the process. They had availability within just a couple weeks, and the technician who came out to give us the estimate clearly explained what they would do and the different options (location in the basement, cutting through the eaves or just going around them, etc). He was friendly and answered all of my questions patiently, and when the work was done it looked great, was in the most convenient place in the basement and everything was totally cleaned up. Getting a radon fan is not my favorite way to spend over a thousand bucks, but it had to be done and I'm glad we chose these guys because they made it painless, quick and easy. The price also seemed reasonable, and I think was less than a different company when we had to do it on our last house. I'd recommend them to a friend for sure.

It went really well. They did it and we sent all the video and whatnot to the city. The results weren't what I hoped for but that's not their fault. I'm planning on using them to fix the line to the sewer in the near future.

It went well. They had to remove part of a fence to reach the main line in the alley. They used a back hoe to dig a 9' deep trench, being careful of an old apple tree. They put in a more convenient outside access. Very professional. Easily available by phone when I had questions. I definitely would hire again.

Couldn't have asked for better service. Jake was super knowledgeable about the process and the requirements and was a single point of contact throughout the work. They came, did the soil testing, came back to cut open, drain and wash the tank and then filled it in and decommissioned it. They showed up when they said they would, did the job with utmost professionalism and left it in such great shape you can't even tell they were here. Super happy.

Dug to and removed top of previously pumped-out tank.  Took the required soil samples and found about 10 X threshold contamination.  That triggered an air sample test under the basement slab, the results of which cost a kilobuck or so but were apparently OK.  They then did whatever one does to the internal volume of a decommissioned tank and sort-of filled the hole they dug.  More landscaping will be required to restore the original grade.
But the real problem, aside from the fact that some of the tests may have been unnecessary or faked ( a concept I hadn't even contemplated 'till I  read some of their reviews here), was that they contaminated the ornamental ivy between their hole and the street heavily with oil.  When I pointed this out and asked that they clean it up, their response was "Oh, it's just dirt, sometimes it looks like oil".  The best they were (grudgingly) willing to do was "come and look at it" in the next week or two.  When I sent Emily (the project manager) an email asking what she thought the DEQ would think if they saw it (I had previously sent her pix), the oil and more than a little of the ivy, was gone the next morning.  So she knew what the DEQ would think.
All in all, they did just well enough to get paid, but not nearly well enough to get recommended.

They scoped most of the line and located it, but didn't reach the outer end. They provided a bid to replace the line that was a bit higher than the bid I selected. I probably should have gone with Soil Solutions, but the contractor I ended up choosing seemed to do an OK job. Soil Solutions seems to be a higher quality company, with somewhat higher prices.

Our 1950ish house had a buried heating oil tank. Twenty year prior the oil tank was decommissioned. During the sell of our house,it was discovered and soil samples determined the soil at one end of the tank was 10 percent above DEQ requirements. Test one cost $330, test two cost $1900, test three cost $1900,and test four cost $3500 for the water. They wanted to take a sample in the neighbors basement which they refused. What was determined?? After the test nothing changed but my bank, No further action needed. I feel robbed. Calling is financial suicide!!
