I'm so happy we hired Sierra Excavation & Construction! Ubaldo and his brother are both very experienced at their work. We hired them to install a new sewer line and decommission a cesspool for a house we purchased. They were able to coordinate with the city to use their hole from work done just past the curb line. They are punctual, responsive, and tidy for doing such an expansive job. Our cesspool was 16' deep and took two gravel truck loads to fill! Decently priced too, they were the middle bid. Would highly recommend hiring this company.

Everyone on the Sierra team was great. Very good communication with the office (thanks April) and on-site team. They offered a more sensible approach to our project and provided exactly the service they proposed. The work entailed creating a new access point for the sewer line (removing and later replacing a 2.5’ x 7.5’ foot concrete section in driveway) removing a portion of the parkstrip by the city sewer connection and replacing with topsoil and grass seed and replacing 65’ of sewer line.

They were professional, responded to a request for a bid in one hour on a Saturday. The work was done on start date given. A delay on the concrete sidewalk being poured was due to sudden extreme temperatures in Portland Oregon.

Ubaldo was very knowledgeable and helpful, and knew exactly what we needed given the rocky soil of our neighborhood. He was punctual, courteous and professional. His team did an excellent job, and with all had the lowest bid. My neighbor had a similar experience when Sierra did their sewer line. I would recommend Sierra very highly.

I got three bids-Sierra Excavation was priced in the middle. The owner, Ubaldo Sierra, personally came out to quote the bid and answered every question I had. I needed a contractor who I could trust as I needed the job done quickly and without problems. I immediately liked him and could tell he knew exactly what he was doing. He was very familiar with North Portland and the type of soil which impacts quote (no real rocks to deal with in my neighborhood). He told me exactly what to expect, they showed up promptly on time, took great care to protect my yard and plants and completed job very timely. His work came with a five year warranty. He did not ask for payment until the job was completed. My yard and the street look awesome after the work. I am extremely satisfied and highly recommend this company.

When Ubaldo first came by, I was immediately impressed by his ability to clearly explain how he was planning to perform the work. He explained it in plain english so I could understand. The previous bid I had received was written by a large company but the person apparently lacked the professional experience and skill to do the job properly and for a reasonable price. His bid was $28,786!! And that was going to include demolishing the entire cement staircase (which I was going to be responsible to replace), sidewalk and street all the way to the city main line. They were basically going to dig a 12'+ trench from the sewerline in the street, all the way up to the side of my house half way to the backyard. Ubaldo used a trenchless directional drilling technique that required only a 3'x3' square on the side of my house, 2 sidewalk squares and an 8'x3' section of street to be dug up.. Not to mention approx $20,000 LESS in costs. Ubaldo rolled through like a champion and completed the job in 2 days! And there was NO DISRUPTION to my sewer service (except the 15mins it took them to disconnect the old pipe and connect up the new one. I would highly recommend Sierra Excavation to anyone needing work of this nature. They left everything cleaner than they found it. They are hands-down the best around. The pictures speak for themselves...these guys are impressive to say the least.

The project was completed on time and extra care was taken to bring in topsoil to fill in/cover the excavation area and reseed it.  Sierra construction workers were very professional  - submitting an estimate in a timely fashion - responding to emails and communicating details about the job.  They had an extra challenge in excavating in my small back yard to connect with the city line 14' down.
They were very easy to work with and I recommend them to anyone needing sewer line repair/replacement.

Awesome experience... The owner Ubaldo was a pleasure to deal with!! I had a scope from another company who bid $6000 for the job. I contacted Ubaldo and provided him with the report and YouTube videos of the scope. Within 2 days, he bid $4350 for the same work. He was very professional and kind, as we're the two men crew who did the work. On time, great quality of work, no problems at all!! Highly Recommended!! Thank you Ubaldo for an amazing experience!!

They seemed to be doing a great job, but I found that they had dented our water line as they excavated the sewer line.  They resisted when I asked them to patch that spot, which they had covered with mud to obscure the damage.  They crew chief did agree to fix the damage and the rest of the job went as expected.

It went wonderfully.  The machine they use to bore was fascinating to watch (especially for our six year old) and the job was done very quickly.  They cleaned up well and they were great at explaining what the process was.  And all that was left as evidence of the job was a patch of dirt approximately 3x4 ft that was sprinkled with grass seed!  Lastly, the cost of the job was far less than our other estimate.

The contractor was very professional during the bid process.  They explained what the process was and the time it would take to do the project.  Sierra also made sure I understood why the connection had failed, and offered the best options for a successful repair that would hold up over time.
The repair was completed on the scheduled day, &  the area was left clean.
The bid was reasonable and competitively beat  2 local companies that were both less than a 1/4 mile from our house.
