After a month of saying he was going to deliver "this afternoon" and just flat not returing our phone calls and texts, he finally admitted that he never had the pool table. That was in September and he has still not returned our money. We are not the first person that he has scammed. Please do not do business with this person...you will be sorry. Check out his online pages and ask others in the industry before you make a decision.

Replace cushions went ok, recover the rails went ok.  Pat told me to set up the frame and leave the slates loose on there, then arrived and without thinking or talking to me he just started to screw the slates onto the frame.  It wasn't aligned at all, so I told him that, he slowed down a little, I think we got it right more or less, then he used the wrong phillips drive (too small) and wrecked up all the screws.  I told him he was doing it, he didn't care, in fact he denied it.  Next step was to recover the slates with cloth, this went ok but he left extra material down in the side pockets and a bunch of bunched up cloth in one of the side pockets that is sloppy and unnecessary.  Fill and level the slates went ok.  I think it's pretty flat, plays pretty well.  Then I said shouldn't we put the apron together and then lift it into place and no was the answer.  So we put it on there loose, then I let him screw it in and he didn't line it up and drilled extra holes in two of the aprons and lost one of the screws I gave him, insisted it didn't exist, said he had one like it but it smaller and not sturdy enough; I found the right screw on the floor later and used it when I redid that work to make the aprons line up.  The ball box didn't go on right, I had to take it off and pull out one of the inserts that wasn't catching the bolt and fix that, took me a long time.  Table is now put together right and looks good, generally plays well.
You don't need power tools to assemble a pool table, it only speeds it a little and it wrecks all the fasteners if you don't use the right bits (he didn't).  He should have done it carefully and slowly and found all the old screw holes so it's possible to take apart and reassemble the table many times over.  He worked too fast, didn't care about the details, didn't care about doing it right, just another guy doing sloppy fast work because he thinks the customer won't know the difference.  He was helpful about other stuff, like the stick to get and the cloth to get and etc, but I like things original and carefully done and he was the wrong guy for that.  Nice enough, but I hate it when people lie to me and treat me like I'm stupid.   If I had it to do over again I would let somebody do the cushions, cover the table with new cloth, but do all the assembly myself.  I would have saved a bunch of money and got a much better result.
