SHANNON CONTRACTING

Started out well and then many shortcuts taken, no long-term care for doing things the right way.

Some of the work done was good.  Especially the hot tub work.  The glass work was not good, and I now have several pieces of glass that have already failed and Shannon will not respond to repairing them.  The floor work was to make the floors level.  Shannon flattened some of the places, but they are not any more level than before.  In the kitchen area Shannon moved the hump from one place to another.  Shannon representative promised that any engineering charges would be reimbursed after the project was completed.  I am still out $510 that was promised.  I still have scaffolding and some other equipment here that Shannon will not come and remove.  I am missing some personal hand tools that disappeared after the prject was finished.

They did a major project last summer for me.  I have a solarium with hot tub in it.  They replaced the windows, tiles and hot tub in my solarium.  It's pretty nice but I have some problems with Shannon.  Some of it is good and some of it is bad.  I have issues with their work now but they don't even respond.  He has left me with thousands of dollars of problem and I'm not real happy with Shannon.

They did what they said they were going to do.

Kevin's team was extremely hard working and did a great job on the entire project. Kevin came by frequently to inspect the progress and make sure everything was being done correctly. The quality of the work is great and the entire property looks so much better. Everything went pretty smoothly throughout the several day project. There were a few days early in the project when I was expecting the workers to show and they didn't, which had me a little concerned. I wish that I had been called when it was determined they wouldn't be starting when I originally thought. Once they got rolling, they worked hard every day and finished the work in a very reasonable amount of time. I'd say my biggest complaint is that the cleanup could have been better (I found screws, nails and paint chips for weeks afterward) and it took them a while to come pick up the lumber left behind. Overall though, I'm very pleased with the work and would certainly use them again.

My experience with him overall was wonderful, however they have not finished. When they did the job it was October of last year and we were having a lot of rain so water seeped into windows that were being installed. I was not on site when the work was being done as I was out of state but some water leaked into the new windows that were being installed and damaged the finished treatment which they had applied and there are areas that treatment has not been applied to completely. Overall the work is beautiful however there are spots that need attention and I have asked them to fix that and finish it and initially they said they would but I have not heard back from them for a some time. I have tried to be patient. They are great to deal with and very professional but I haven't heard from them yet and I've been waiting for some time. I will possibly use this company again pending the resolution of this situation.

After several terrible experiences, we finally found Shannon Contracting. Our first experience with Kevin Shannon was when he came over to bid on fixing our foundation. Of all the people we contacted, he was the only one who said that he could do the job. He told us exactly what to expect when he raised the house to fix a corner of the foundation -- and his predictions were right on. From that initial experience, we hired him to remodel from top to bottom our little house. Shannon Contracting is exceptionally good at doing the structural work -- our additions are extremely well built and solid. His team is very versatile and can handle just about any type of remodeling work. When issues came up -- as they always do -- Kevin was more than willing to make things right. Very important quality in a contractor!
