Mitt came by and conducted the energy audit and provided us with options. He was clear and direct with the details and answered all our questions. His crew did much of the work and the subcontractors were competent and thorough. He made sure that we were completely satisfied with the work before he closed out the project. We love our ductless heat pump and couldn't be happier with the services that Sensible Energy provided.

Mitt and his employees at Sensible Energy are professional and knowledgeable. They clearly know what they're doing, and Mitt was very responsive when I needed answers to my questions. Although the CEWO process can be somewhat confusing, I had a positive experience with Sensible Energy and would recommend them to anyone. Only certain improvements qualify for rebates under CEWO, while others don't, so the options presented to the homeowner may not always be what the homeowner has in mind. I was able to work with Mitt and come up with a plan that made sense for my situation. I appreciate that Mitt was flexible and able to take time to discuss the options that were available.

My experience with them was excellent. It was fairly quick. The people seemed to be real competent and careful. We were able to talk about different types of weatherization we were doing. They did a really good job of protecting everything in my house and outside. They did a really thorough clean up job. I was really quite happy with them. I really trust them and the crew leader was on top of everything. They were very good workers.

Mitt Jones and his crew were very professional, communicated clearly what work they needed to do and why, cleaned up every day when they were finished, were very courteous and knowledgable.
There were some delays due to a groundwater issue that I needed to have resolved before they could complete all of their work in the crawlspace. Mitt was very reasonable in rescheduling his crew to complete the work as soon as possible. I would use Sensible Energy Solutions again if needed and have already recommended him to friends and family.

Mitt was great to work with and his crew was very professional. They all worked very hard to do a difficult job, especially since some of the work was done during a hot week. They ended up staying a little late the last day to finish the job and still cleaned up everything.

I participated in a free energy audit provided by the Energy Trust. They recommended I have a air and duct sealing audit performed by a vendor of my choice. They provided me with names of vendors and I cross checked them against Angie's List. Sensible Energy Solutions had excellent reviews on Angie's List so I called them. They performed the air and duct sealing audit and recommended a course of action to improve my home's energy usage. Cost of the complete energy audit was $240. Sensible Energy gave me a full written report of the audit results as well as presenting it to me in person. Mitt Jones, owner of Sensible Energy, outlined what he recommended to improve the energy efficiency and comfort of my home. He provided a full written proposal and answered any questions I might have. He did not push me to do all or any of his recommendations but simply provided a very thorough report of what he felt was needed. The report included prices for each section of the project, air and duct sealing and insulation etc. He also included the amount of the possible incentives if the project resulted in a certain level of leakage and energy reduction. The possible energy incentives could reduce the price of the project by about 18%. I decided to go ahead with the work as suggested by Sensible Energy Solutions. Mitt Jones and his team of four workers were here for several days, joined by an electrician for the needed electrical work. They were incredibly easy to work with, explained everything they were doing and answered all my questions. At the conclusion of the work they cleaned up everything. Mitt followed up a week later with all the paperwork for the incentives, all I had to do was sign and submit. Mitt Jones runs this company the way a company should be run, he is responsive, performs excellent work and follows up all the lose ends. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his company.

They were very good. The owner, Mitt Jones, could not have better customer service. He was just fabulous and the same thing with his crew. They couldn't have done anything better. I would absolutely use them in the future.

Our family was looking at adding insultion to our home. After discussing this with several firms Mitt Jones suggested I find out (through an energy audit) if and what we might need. Once the energy audit was completed I was thoroughly impressed with the details of Mitt's proposal. Although we did not do everything on the proposal, Mitt was supportive and made recommendations based on our budget and our objectives (energy reduction and a baseline increase in comfort). Sensible Energy's crew was meticulous when they were in our home, laying down floor mats where they worked. They also gave us a heads up on the next days work so we could plan our family activies accordingly. I felt that Mitt's attention to detail was what sold me on the job. The crew was professional and courteous.I would recommend his services to anyone and Sensible Energy Services deserves the the highest marks that Angies list provides. A job well done.

Sensible Energy Solutions did an excellent job, and I would recommend them unequivocally to others. Mitt Jones (owner) and his team were professional, responsible, conscientious, economical, communicative, and great to deal with -- even my kids said so. Background: This was a substantial "retrofit" of a 50-year old home for which the energy efficiency features previously had consisted of a modest amount of attic insulation, improperly installed. We had been struggling with drafty rooms, cold floors, poor insulation, uneven heating and cooling, and other typical problems for an older home. We installed a new high-efficiency furnace and a new tankless gas water heater when we bought the house 4 years ago, but had held off on doing these additional energy efficiency improvements. We had previously contacted the Energy Trust of Oregon to have an initial energy audit done, then had sat on the results for over a year. Finally we did some research, including at Angie's list. We narrowed the list to 2 companies, contacted both, and went with Sensible Energy because of their responsiveness, and the clear communication from Mitt Jones. Scope: We had Sensible Energy do a complete energy audit -- more comprehensive than the Energy Trust audit, including a blower door test and duct leakage test. The results showed there was lots of room for improvement. We got a written bid for the full package of improvements listed above. The only difficult decision was whether to add or replace the insulation in the attic (there was some existing insulation, but it was substandard and had been improperly installed). We initially decided to add insulation because of the substantial cost savings; then reversed that decision -- removing the existing insulation and replacing it with all-new insulation -- when we discovered signs of rodents having been camped out in the attic. This added substantially to the scope, but we had priced that option as part of the original bid, so we had a number to work from. Change Orders: In addition to the revised scope of the attic insulation work, we had a couple of other changes to the scope, driven by issues that were discovered during the installation. They were clearly outside of the original scope -- no "bait and switch" tactics here. Mitt dealt with these changes very clearly and fairly, with unusually (in my view) open and clear communication. Schedule: The schedule slipped a couple of times, mostly (to be fair) because of the expanded scope of the attic insulation work, which threw Sensible Energy off of its schedule. Since they already had scheduled other jobs to follow, they had to leave our job and come back a couple of times, so that work originally scheduled over one week ended up happening over about three weeks. However, Mitt Jones was very clear in his communication that if this was a problem for us he would try to push out his other jobs in order to complete our job. I told him the timing wasn't crucial and approved the revised schedule accordingly. Performance: The quality of the work was really exceptional. Not so much the materials -- this was insulation and spray foam and attic vents, after all -- but in the workmanship. Mitt and his team were extremely good, and very conscientious. The quality of the work that was done actually exceeded my (high) expectations significantly. Summary: Top notch performance by a conscientious contractor with an excellent team of professionals. I recommend them without any reservation.

Great experience. We give Sensible Energy Solutions our highest recommendation. The energy audit was detailed and thorough. The report pointed out several areas where our house needed insulation and Mitt sat down and explained the process to us and answered our questions. When it came time to do the work, Mitt took extra care to make sure the work was done right. We are very satisfied with the process and the price.

Mitt Jones is passionate about his work and very professional in it's execution. My old house presented significant challenges, and Mitt worked diligently to create a plan that would achieve my energy efficiency goals at a cost effective price. I never felt pressured to proceed with any of his recommendations but instead, he worked with me to find lower cost alternatives. In the end, the work was completed on time and under budget and, bottom line, my house is much more comfortable now that it has been professionally insulated.

I sent requests for air leakage test quotes to many auditors by email; Mitt was the first to reply. He explained everything well, and suggested I consider duct leakage testing as well. I hired him to do the full Home Performance Energy Audit for $300 (got a discounted price because I don't have gas lines at all) minus $70 for Energy Trust incentives. He did the testing (blower door and the works), discovered a few issues, and recommended cost-effective remedies. He suggested I should not go for full duct sealing because the improvement probably wouldn't qualify for Energy Trust incentives. In the end, I hired him (and his contractors) to do $1540 worth of work, including air sealing, some duct sealing, and adding insulation - Energy Trust incentives should cover some $400 of it. Mitt and his contractors came, worked for a day, and got everything done. They were quick and professional, and left the place clean. Overall, the whole experience was great - Mitt was very professional, answered questions well, and was responsive (even email communication was effective). I probably won't be doing another energy audit on the house (you need only one), but I would highly recommend Mitt to anyone else.
