Awesome experience! David worked quickly (over a weekend no less) to get us all setup for our re-finance on our home mortgage. He responded quickly when something was needed from us and then got everything taken care of quickly. He answered all my questions and even had the notary come to our house to sign the papers.

David was great to work with! He was able to get us a great rate, gave us good advice and was very responsive to all of our phone calls and emails. We were working under a very short time frame and David got it done.

David was professional and very solid at coordinating our refinance. The process was as smooth as a refinance can go!

After dealing with another bank's horrible customer service and ending our relationship with them, we decided to hire a mortgage broker to achieve our goals. We found Riverside Mortgage through Angie's List and couldn't be happier. We haven't totally completed our business with Riverside, but the experience already has been excellent. I would definitely use Riverside again in the future.

I am a shopper – a thorough one -- always looking for the best deals. I initially sought out quotes from 6 different companies (banks, retail-lenders, brokers and credit unions) for our mortgage. If you are a first-time homebuyer, know that this takes a lot of time on the phone – a few days. David’s offer was the best of the six. I then shared David’s quote with the other lenders/brokers to see if they could sweeten their offers. Four lenders couldn’t match Riverside’s and expressed bafflement that David was able to find such great deal. Only one other lender could match Riverside’s quote, but they could not match David’s level of customer service. I didn’t really have to think much about my decision once I had all of my offers. David explains everything succinctly and in plain English (you’ll get the pun when you speak with him). He is friendly, funny, trustworthy and relaxed. As it turned out, the lender that he hooked us up with was very particular with their requirements (lots of documents, very specifically-worded, etc.). It would have been rather daunting if we didn’t have David to hold our hands through the whole thing. Long story short, Riverside Mortgage Group was number 1 in ALL of the categories that I had in mind while looking for a loan. We saved a LOT of money and our anxiety-level through the whole process was a lot lower than I ever thought it could be. If you are going to shop around, make sure Riverside is on your list – they will likely wind up being your choice in the end. If you don’t have time to shop around, it’s doubtful you can find much better than David – just give him a call.

We were turned down by Chase because I had recently retired and hadn't set up pension or 401k payments yet. David worked with a different lender, and helped us determine how much income we needed to start drawing, pre-mortgage, to qualify for the loan. There was also a lot of drama over our street name. Who knew the difference between Hxxxxx Drive and Hxxxxx Way could cause such a stir? The city, county, and post office still disagree about the actual street name. Also, David identified two mistakes in the appraisal - it had to submitted three times! Without David's help we'd probably be sitting in a hotel instead of in our beautiful new home. Nice guy. Did great work. You should hire him.

It was wonderful! David was with us through the whole process from start to end. We were in a home loan with a really high percentage rate. We did not really trust anyone because the last mortgage company we worked with took advantage of us and put us into a terrible loan package. The process went smoothly, quickly and the interest rate was exactly what was promised. I would highly recommend David to any one who needs to refinance or get a new home loan!

Was difficult ReFi but Riverside worked **** ** our behalf until process completed.

The initial appraiser's estimate was turned down by the lender, but David did an excellent job of finding a different lender and getting the paperwork pushed through. He was in constant communication with me and made the refinancing fairly painless. I would highly recommend him.

I started this process at the beginning of the year and just about a month later I was signing the documents. We were fortunate to get a very fast appraisal, so that didn't hurt. (I was told by one lender that it was taking 4 to 5 weeks for the appraisal process and mine was about 2) Aside from that, David stayed on top of the everything. He was always available when I had questions and the electronic system for submitting documents worked flawlessly. I'd recommend David and Riverside Mortgage to anyone looking for someone who is attentive, straightforward, and knows what he's doing. I don't plan on ever refinancing again, but if I do and David is still in the business, I'd happily work with him again.

David was with us from beginning to end. We had tried to reach out to some other brokers but got no response. After finding him on Angie's List, we found David to be helpful, professional and informative. We went in knowing very little about what we were looking for and came away with a new home. Our initial posture in buying a home was unique, and David was able to work with it without a problem. He also got us a great rate, which is always appreciated. Furthermore, we had some difficulties unrelated to David's services towards the end of the closing process, and David helped immeasurably in getting us over the hump. There was not an aspect of the process that he didn't help run more smoothly. I would highly recommend him.

We had three transactions occurring at the same time and he helped make sure everything came together as it should. We had two homes we were selling and one home we were purchasing. One home was being sold to family. My family also used David for the mortgage process. We were both very happy with his fun, yet professional demeanor. He was diligent in ensuring a great rate and that the bank documentation requirements were met in a timely manner. David made the mortgage process as easy as possible.

David was very professional about getting the information required for the loan. He was also fun to interact with during the process. I felt like he was doing his best and working hard for our loan to be successful. I will definitely contact David in the future if I am in the market for another loan. I would also recommend him to others. I would also highly recommend using David's real estate agent that he associates with. I felt very comfortable with them working on our behalf.

We had initially planned to refinance our home loan through the big bank where the mortgage was currently based. I am so glad we did our research and chose David Sefton and Riverside Mortgage! David came right to our house to explain the entire process and collect the necessary documents. He kept us informed every step of the process and the closing went off without a hitch. David was extremely patient with our numerous questions and he made us feel very comfortable during what can be a stressful event. We saved a considerable amount of money compared to the estimate we received from the big bank. I highly recommend Riverside mortgage!

I located David after reading his reviews and A ratings on Angie's List.  He was very professional and courteous and did a great job of finding us lower rates to refinance with.  In the end, David ended up saving us about $300 a month.  All the conversations and paperwork were done remotely either over the phone or by email / mail. This was very convenient for us as my husband is out of town on business often and I have an inflexible schedule myself.  David even set up the signing date for us.  We found David to be very, very timely and feel he did his work with integrity and thoroughness.  Definitely will use him again when the time arises.

David is great to work with (and we liked his accent too).  He explained everything very well so there were no surprises and was very patient.  I'd use him again and would recommend him.

David Sefton is more than outstanding in a very crowded and confusing field, if one is looking for a simply excellent mortgage broker.  This is particularly true if one is not a "conventional client", in the sense of being a "9 to 5er" with a simple salary and a pension. Undoubtedly David can work his special "magic" for the simple-to-find loan situations, as he looks for and finds the lender(s) that will best serve his clients' mortgage needs, whether they be simple or complex.  If mortgage brokers were awarded Olympic golds for their work, David would have multiple gold medals for his quite incrediable  professionalism, expertise, knowledge of the area and his field and most of all, for sheer and sure dogedness and persistance in the face of apparently unending obstacles and red tape in securing "the perfect match" of loan lender, loan and client, especially under the current "new lending rules" for loans in the economic environment for today's borrowers.  In securing the best possible mortgage, one could not do better than to consult David Sefton, of Riverside Mortgage Group in Portland.
 I write as a highly satisfied customer who certainly had an unconventional borrowing situation, as per the current lending restrictions and criteria and who is now the proud owner of a uniquely beautiful home, thanks in a large part to David Sefton's amaazing efforts on our behalf.  As an added bonus, David Sefton is highly personable, calm, cheerful and easy to work with in seeking a mortgage lender, and was found by us through our equally fine realtor, Mr. Paul Kerkar and on Angie's List. David was ready to roll as soon as we gave him everything he
needed to complete the application. I took longer than expected to gather some
of the documents. David was quick to respond to any questions we had, he was
able to get the entire process finished in about 6 weeks. We were able to sign final
loan docs with Jacqueline Szlavich at Ticor Title in St. Helens
which was convenient for us.  The broker fee
was actually lower than the original cost of $3,600 because David was able to
get a $4,207 credit for us from the lender. I was not expecting it to go as
smoothly as it took 10 weeks on a previous loan with Wells Fargo. 
I chose David Sefton at Riverside Mortgage because his rating
was excellent on Angie?s List. I was looking for someone local, I was
not comfortable sending our personal information out of state. To the fellow
that complained about not getting what he wanted immediately, David was
probably working on my loan. David manages his own business and provides
quality service to his clients and customers.
