Job consisted of supplying approximately 14 lineal feet of tile for backsplash: 3and quot; x 8and quot; field tile with embossed texture, 5/8and quot; x 3and quot; accent tile and 8and quot; cap trim. Field tile was green glaze. Accent tile and cap trim were dark charcoal, metallic glaze. Field tile were glazed fine, but had some warping and uneven thickness which could be accommodated with layout. Accent tile came out perfect, without any problems. Cap trim, costing about $25 for each 8and quot; x 1-1/2and quot; piece, were very poorly glazed, with no glazing on the exposed top of about half the pieces, with the bottoms (abutting the field tile) almost all glazed properly. Second try at glazing they did not do much better, claiming they couldn't glaze the top edge the way they glazed the bottom edge. We complained that did not make any sense, especially since this was really no different than glazing a bullnose edge tile. It appeared someone thought we would use the cap trim upside down. Some glazing also came back yellow appearing, very noticeable for a dark charcoal color. Tile was taken back for another redo, this time stipulating the top edge (which would be exposed in the finished backsplash) fully glazed. I even found similar trim glazed properly in their showroom as an example. A few more cap trim came back properly glazed, but not all that were needed. Back to the shop, I was given a and quot;tour of the processand quot; (more to get me out of the showroom than to see the process) which affirmed to me that there was no reason for the top edge not to be properly glazed. We had ordered more tile than needed to allow for any breakage or cutting. Finally got enough cap tile to barely do the job, with no good extras. To us Pratt and Larson has a serious quality control problem, particularly with the special trim shape and glaze we used. Claiming this is a hand-crafted tile and should not be expected to be glazed properly doesn't cut it. If others can do it, if they can do it for their own showroom, they can do it for the paying customer.

It's an excellent place. They are all designs there. They are made there. They are made by local artists. It's the highest quality. They are expensive too. If you are looking for a cheap finish or an inexpensive place they are not the place to go unless you go into the boneyard, the discount room. They have great prices in there.

They have a wonderful showroom, the people were very helpful with the picking and designing, and they helped us find an installer. We purchased custom-made tiles so there was some lead time but they kept us informed and their delivery was on time. I am just about to give them another order.

I have purchased tile from Pratt and Larson for many years (I am an architect). Pand L offers a wide variety of beautiful tile to suit all tastes. Their salespeople are experienced, helpful and very responsive. When my clients are looking for beautiful, unique tile that is locally made, this is the showroom I send them to.

Our tile person picked up the tile, removed the old tile and began to install new tile. Some of the tile was not suitable for our job due to the tile level variations which could hamper my husband's ability to walk on the area. Pratt and Larsen were responsive and allowed us to replace this tile and pick suitable pieces for the job.

I VISIT PRATT AND LARSON FREQUENTLY, MOSTLY TO CHECK THE SECONDS ROOM FOR FUN BARGAINS. I DO LOVE THIS PLACE. IT IS LIKE A CANDY STORE! I AM FREQUENTLY PUT OFF BY THE STAFF, HOWEVER. IN THE MAIN SHOWROOM THEY ALWAYS SEEM PREOCCUPIED AT THEIR DESKS RATHER THAN FOCUSED ON ASSISTING CUSTOMERS ON THE FLOOR, AND IN THE SECONDS ROOM. THE VARIOUS ATTENDANTS SIMPLY SEEM HORRIBLY BORED. IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO SHOP FOR UNIQUE TILE, IF YOUR NEED FOR ASSISTANCE, ISN'T OVERLY HIGH.

I HAVE BOUGHT THINGS FROM THEM FOR ART PROJECTS. I HAVE BOUGHT FIRST QUALITY ITEMS, AND I HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH BOTH PURCHASES. THE PEOPLE ARE REALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL WITH TAKING MEASUREMENTS. THEY TELL YOU ABOUT PRODUCTS. IT IS A SHOWROOM TYPE SITUATION. THEY DO MAKE SOME OF THEIR OWN TILE.

OVERALL, A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE. THEY HAVE A GREAT SELECTION. THE STAFF WAS HELPFUL, BUT THEY WERE VERY BUSY. I WAS ABLE TO SELECT THE TILE AND PICK IT OUT ON THE SAME DAY AT THE WILL CALL AREA. VERY NICE!

MY EXPERIENCE WAS WONDERFUL WITH THIS COMPANY. THE TILE STORE IS A GREAT PLACE TO BROWSE AND GET IDEAS FOR YOUR TILING PROJECTS. THIS COMPANY DESIGNS AND PRODUCES THEIR OWN TILES AS WELL AS SALES MANY OTHER TILES AND NATURAL STONES FROM ELSEWHERE. THEY WILL SPECIAL ORDER ANYTHING THAT YOU MAY WANT. BOTH OF THE TILES THAT WE CHOSE WERE SPECIAL ORDER AND THEY ARRIVED IN RELATIVELY A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.
