Tech showed up 15 minutes early (wow, don't see that often). Removed old system, cleaned up. Installed all new hardware. Tech was professional and friendly. Knowledgeable and helpful. Answered all our questions (some more than once). Showed us how to work the equipment and tested everything to ensure it was working correctly before he left. Very satisfied and would recommend to others.

Marc at Portland Security Alarm was very helpful in explaining the new system they would install using the currently installed hard wired contacts.  I had a lot of questions and Marc is very friendly, flexible and easy to talk with.  He answered all my questions.  He did everything he could to accommodate my needs in upgrading my current alarm system.  He explained the installation process and the installer was prompt for the installation.  The installer was friendly, professional and the whole installation required about 3 hours.  Much of the work was changing out the control panel and retiring the hard wired contacts.  He installed new wireless window contacts.  He checked to make sure that the alarm system and old hard wired contacts were working properly and gave me a quick tutorial on how to use the alarm system.  He also removed and recycled all of the old alarm components.  Many thanks to Marc and Portland Security Alarm.  I would definitely use Portland Security Alarm again.

Portland Security Alarm was one of the few companies that would work with my pre-wiring (original construction was in 2003.) Most everyone else I contacted said they would not use my wiring and instead go completely wireless, and most would also not come out for an estimate without credit card info already in their system(s). Marc (owner) and Edgar (installer) both praised the benefits of hardwire over wireless, and were able to use all my wiring PLUS add wireless sensors to the same system. Installation was professional and very clean, and a followup visit from Marc to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction was an added bonus. VERY satisfied with the work and the company. I would recommend them to anyone in the Portland/Vancouver metro area.

The interaction with Marc Admire of Portland Security was a pleasure. He was prompt and mist importantly very easy to deal with. He was far from pushy (unlike some other big security companies I tried prior). His arguments against adding new sensors without checking the existing ones (from a non-working security system) appealed to me. I loved the fact that he gave me the option of self-monitoring, which all other companies I spoke to did not offer. The system install was painless and Edgar who installed the system did a great job explaining it all. Overall, this is one of the finest companies I have dealt with.

After we looked at several companies, we called for an estimate. We wanted a local company if possible. Mark, the owner, explained how their system works and the various options for equipment and pricing. He then came out and did a walk through and answered all of our questions. We got on his schedule for a couple weeks later; he was also good about our scheduling and rescheduling. Everything went smoothly. The installation tech was friendly and helpful and when he had to leave the owner came back to finish the job on time. They explained and demonstrated everything. Although they also install more elaborate systems and told us about other products they never tried to upsell us, which we appreciated. Everything was installed neatly and unobtrusively and they were respectful of our house. Finally, the system is working perfectly and the office staff is friendly and helpful. We love having online access to our system and a mobile app to use. We definitely recommend them.

I've been using it for over a year and it is working really good so far. The installation was really fast. It was easy to install. No issues or problems so far.

Portland Security Alarms is the best security company with whom we have ever worked in 15 houses over 30-years.  I interviewed more than one security company to install systems in two rental houses.  When I called Portland Security Alarms, I worked directly with Marc the owner who gave me immediate confirmation that he could install a system in both houses for the Angie's list special of $299.  In addition, one house had a old broken system, and he said he could use any parts from the old system that were compatible with his system.  I never expected that to work out, but in this case it did.  He salvaged one keypad and the central control box and was able to give me a complete system that works perfectly.  In addition, he was able to fully install systems in both houses in less than one week after I first called and installed both in the same day.  This is exceptional service.  
A few months later, I did have one problem with the alarm going off during a wind storm where the front door had a some play in it and it disconnected from the sensor and set off the alarm.  Marc sent a technician the next day and took care of it at no charge.
From my experience, Marc, and his company Portland Security Alarms meet their commitments to their customers in an exceptional manner.  I would refer them to anyone and I will use them for all of my home security needs.

When they came out to give me an estimate, they arrived on time, suggested how many and what types of sensors we could use, and answered all my questions. They sent an itemized estimate a few days later.
When they came out to install the system, they arrived on time. After everything was installed, they walked me through and showed me how to use it.
A few days later, the alarm started beeping late at night, and I couldn't figure out how to stop it. The monitoring company had a technician call me, and he told me how to circumvent the problem, temporarily. Then he came out the next business day and replaced the faulty sensor. About a month ago, we realized that another sensor was not working properly. THe technician came out and replaced it.

Excellent service!  Marc and his team installed our security system one year ago.  He reviewed all the doors and windows of the house (three floors).  His suggestions were very much appreciated.  He was  professional and thorough.

Recently we noticed that the alarms on two of the basement egress windows inadvertently prevented full removal of the windows in the event of an emergency.  We called Marc who was in the field.  Two hours later he called back and said he would have a technician at our house in 30 minutes.  The technician was able to easily fix the basement window alarm locations, and then reviewed all the alarm settings with us.  We were impressed! 

It's good to know people still do honest business nowadays.
