Stan and his Brother Roman are very polite, punctual, professional. Serge and Ben was the team that actually did the main installation. They were also very polite, punctual and professional. The job went well, everyone was helpful in explaining what was going on, and Stan or Roman or both would come by everyday and oversee/help with the job. I felt the whole process, though slightly disruptive (of course) was made much better because of such a great team. Roman just completed a couple of moldings that had to be ordered at a later date. The floors look wonderful.
I highly recommend this company!

True to form, Stan and his crew were amazing. He sanded and refinished all of the hardwoods in our home and installed baseboards in two rooms. They took our 1962 stained and worn down floors and completely transformed them. Amazing work!

Their quality was awesome and Stan was our contact. Stan was easy to get a hold of and very reasonable in pricing. They were flexible with last minute requests. The quality of work was really good and the job took 3 days to complete.

This was the best experience I had ever had with a service provider. Stan was wonderful. He was true to his estimate. Even tho they ended up having to remove ceramic tile in the entry and then lower that area to level it out with the rest of the floor, there were no extra charges. The guys were great, respectful, considerate and clean. They moved the furniture out for me and then back in when they were done. I really can't say enough good things about this company. I wish everyone had the work ethic that Stan and his crew do. So many times, service providers are flaky and unorganized. They are the complete opposite. I wish they did everything, not just hardwood floors! So reliable.

The manager, Stan, delivered supplies the day before the installation was scheduled. The installer, Dan, arrived promptly at 8am. When it was discovered that there was not underlayment that needed to be removed, Stan told me he was reducing the cost accordingly. Dan worked a full day and all debris was removed and the area was cleaned up before he left. Dan arrived the next day at 8am and started working right away - he finished the installation by early afternoon. Stan dropped by and checked the work. The trim around the fireplace hearth was perfect as were the other transitions. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was not all that much dust created as Dan did most of the cutting outside on the porch. I would recommend Portland Hardwoods!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
They had multiple delays and mistakes.
We asked them to use a satin finish and they used matte, then agreed that it wrong and put the final coat in satin so the floors they worked on are much duller.
They said they would handle the fridge but then they then forgot to sand and stain under the it. They came back and did a patch job which is very obvious.
They left several areas without top coat and had to come back. They accidently over sanded in on spot leaving a significant bump. . We are considering having another company in to redo their multiple mistakes. AVOID THIS COMPANY

Stan and his crew were affordable, professional and extremely efficient. Stan was able to meet with my husband and I the day we spoke. He was very knowledgable about how to install the bamboo I had purchased from Simple Floors PDX into our 1942-built home, which had been previously patched up with concrete. Stan handled the pick up from the distributor, advised us to do a floating floor installation, removed the left over carpeting tack and baseboards, then put everything back together. The floors are beautiful and we are very satisfied. I would recommend Portland Hardwoods to anyone installing new bamboo floors.

These guys were terrific. The estimate was excellent. The worked quickly and finished on time. They hauled away debris daily and kept the mess to a minimum. And they went beyond the call of duty when they fixed and sealed an area of sub-floor that had pet damage. The floors look beautiful and I later had them come back to do the stairs, which look gorgeous as well.

We purchased approx. 1,200 sq.ft. of engineered hardwood flooring for our house and intended on installing it ourselves. After meeting Stan of Portland Hardwoods at the Portland Street of Dreams and seeing the quality of the flooring installation they had completed on one very nice home, we reconsidered. We did check with other installers but, none were as professional, responsive or competitively priced. In the end we called up Stan and he arranged for Roman and Alex to install our flooring in a very timely manner. Stan and Roman are brothers who own the company. We couldn’t be happier with the job they did for us. Roman is a perfectionist and did a fantastic job with everything from the ‘custom’ crawl space access hatch to the stained to match trim pieces. Even though Roman and Alex worked very long days, their eye for detail and their professionalism did not diminish. They spent countless hours sorting through the boxes of flooring for just the right piece to go in each position. They didn't just slap everything together - which probably would have saved lots of time. In addition to the flooring install, they removed and replaced all of our baseboards, removed old flooring, and completely cleaned everything. When the job was done and we were settling up on the bill, we were just about to write out the check to Stan when he recalculated the work they had done and reduced the total amount by over $300. An honest contractor!! You are making a mistake if you do not at least consider these guys.
