I have to say I was very disappointed in Portland Closet's performance. I got a recomendation from a good contractor but their execution fell short of what I expected! They were very coordial but thier execution left us wanting and we really should have checked out other options. They had to make about 6 visits over a span of about 8 weeks to complete their installation, over Thanksgiving and Christmas. They just couldn't seem to get the measurements quite right for what was a pretty simple project. They told us our project would be done in 2-3 days. The end product was OK, but it was expensive and their execution was just unprofessional. I have had prior work done by California Closets and they were efficient and professional. I wish I had them give us an estimate. Oh well, I would certainly do more homework next time. I thought we might have gotten a discount or some compensation for the inconvenience, but no. They were apologetic their execution was really unacceptable. Looks nice but it was hard getting there! Felt like I had hired Eldin from the Murphy Brown TV series, the never ending job... It was comical in the end.

Had three areas that needed attention when I moved in to my new condo. Portland Closet was able to do my pantry and laundry room utility shelving right away, which let me get settled in perfectly. The master closet took a little longer because COVID-19 hit right after we ordered the materials (I requested rounded-edge drawer fronts, which they did not have in stock in the finish I wanted). However, Portland Closet stayed in touch throughout the shutdown and as soon as it was safe to re-start installations, they came back and finished the installation. I love my new master closet! I've never had one this nice before and I highly recommend!

Went very well. No surprises. The project came in about $1000 less than a major competitor and included more cabinets. I'm extremely happy with the work.

When we first called Portland Closets, we asked them to install cabinets in 2 areas.  Because of the small space in one area their suggestion was to start with one area and reassess after a bit to see if we needed the second area.  They were absolutely correct in two ways, first, we have plenty of storage, secondly, had we put built-ins in the second area, we would have completely ruined that area for additional use.  The fact that Portland Closets actually urged us to do LESS work because they felt it was right for our living space says a lot about their integrity as a company.  We are thrilled with the work they did and will call them again in a heartbeat.

Larry from Portland Closet Co.  just finished installing 2 closet
systems for me.  Love them!!!  Almost too pretty to clutter them up with
clothes!!   We just finished a remodel of our 2nd floor which was an
old converted attic.  After all the the new drywall and paint our old
closets just screamed for new closet systems to keep everything
organized.  I looked at Ikea and on-line for ready made systems and none
really had all the features & colors I had in mind.  We also kept
the same foot print of the original closets so they were an odd shape.
Went to Angie's list to research custom closets to get quotes.
Portland Closets had great reviews and they all noted how reasonably
priced ( compared to others) they were.  I made the call and  Randy
Taylor came out and was very receptive to what I was looking for.  We
discussed what my usage would be, color and material choices.  Within a
day he e-mailed me quote and  design lay-out of what we had talked
about.   I found the quote very reasonable for a custom design with
installation.  Hubby and I visited their showroom down in the Pearl to
get a better idea of what the finished material would look like ( very
nice showroom).  I was glad we visited as we tweaked the draw choice a
bit ( go with beveled draws, so much nicer then the straight edge)  and I
was able to get a better idea of what the finished closet would look
like.  It was only about a 2 week lead time to custom cut.  Larry
arrived with all the pieces ready and installation only took about 3
hrs.  Larry was a pleasure to have as an installer.  He took very good
care to lay out drop clothes in the work area, wiped his feet every time
he entered my newly carpeted house.  He showed me some of the finer
points of the closets/drawers (how to remove them, change the shelve
height etc.  I would not hesitate to use Portland Closet Co. again.

The designer, (in my case Jason) comes to your  house, listens to what you want and looks at what you want to store. Then he sends you a drawing with dimensions and also a drawing which allows you to see what the unit will look like.I really appreciate this because I would otherwise have a hard time visualizing the finished product. At this stage you can still make changes.
Jason really came up with a design which would utilize  the space well while being adjustable .
Additionally the installer  knew what he was doing and left everything immaculate.
The price was quite reasonable, considering the the expertise at every level.
I love my closets!

We've used Portland Closets for 7 different closets in three different residences. We love them. They do great design work and the finished product is fantastic. Also, my daughter broke one of the drawers and they fixed it right away without any issues.
We always recommend this company to our friends who need closets.

It was fabulous from the get-go. Kate answered the phone and scheduled Sara to come out that very day to design the closets. After just a week and a half Larry came out and completed the work in half a day. I had two other companies bid and design our closets but Portland Closets won me over from start to finish. I highly recommend them!

It went extremely well! the installer did a very professional job, came prepared with everything he needed, and it turned out that the designer had measured perfectly! Everything fit. The quality of the materials is first-rate, the drawers slide smoothly and the design works very well for us. It took the installer only a morning to remove all the old materials and install the new closet and he left after vacuuming up all the dust from the job (as well as some that wasn't!). I downgraded them a drop on price, only because this kind of work does tend to be pricey. I've had closets done in the past, and I know it can be expensive. The designer gave us a price range that she thought it would be -- and it was at the high end of her estimate. I would definitely use them again, though.

I love Portland Closet.  They have helped me out a couple of times.  Each time, I find myself thinking, what else can I have them do?  Guess the next project will be my kitchen.  They always make my life easier.  On time.  Exceptional craftsmanship.  Could not be more pleasant to work with.  Great ideas.  Thank you Portland Closet Company!

Everything went amazingly smooth. The salesperson arrived a few weeks ahead, to discuss our needs for each closet. He measured the spaces and presented great ideas for our items/clothing. Agreeing on them, he told us we would receive a bid via email, along with a three-demencial schematic of what our closet will look like. What an impressive way of giving us a visual of the finished job. The installer was just as professional and courteous. We couldn't be happier with our new updated closets, thanks to Portland Closet Company

Jason , the designer, came out and measured. I was then sent a detailed plan with pictures ( useful for people like me who can't otherwise imagine what the closets would look like.)
I love my new closets!
