I worked with Paulsen about 12 or so years ago to install carpets in my bedrooms. I returned recently as the carpet needed updating. I worked with Hawaiian Brian who helped me pick a carpet to suit my needs. He directed me to the best option and I got a great deal thanks to a sale they had running. I was able to borrow lots of samples to see what color would work best. Brian came out to measure and was professional walking me thru the process. The carpet came in on time and the installation was done in less than 3-hours. Everything was as they said it would be. No delays or issues.

Abysmal tile work in showers. Didn't install to any of the nationally accepted standards, thus, we have to rip it all out and start over.

Paulson's delayed their confirmed start time by hours due to absent crew members, and nearing completion, they found they had failed to order all necessary trim materials.

I didn't like them that much. I'm stuck. They're just a showroom, they really don't do anything. They contract out. The product is theirs. They measure and get other people to do it that work for them. The people that actually did the work, were fine. They were professional, not really personable. I had some questions about the application, and I was kind of dismissed. The product they put down was not glued, it just layed down. I didn't understand that. They just kind of blew me off.  I was pretty worried. They were a little demeaning, dismissive, and condescending. I would say they should improve on their communication skills.

In late September I had a very low pile rug installed in my basement apartment.  I noticed when I walked on it, it looked like dirty footprints.  When I called the next day I was told to wait a few weeks, that sometimes carpets are rolled up and the nap needs to readjust.  I waited a month, and it still looked bad.  I complained to Paulson's and they scheduled one of their employees to come and inspect it.  He took photos and reported back to Paulson's.  I was then told they would need to have a 3rd party inspector come look at it.  It was now 2 months after installation.  The 3rd party inspector finally came after yet another month, and took photos.  I was then told they would have to contact the mill.  I felt after 3 months, it was too long to have this go on without some kind of offer to change it out, so I finally contacted JohnPaul Morton, the general manager.  He immediately responded and said he'd look at both reports.  He agreed to totally replace the carpet and I have now ordered new carpeting to be installed.  I was extremely satisfied with the outcome, don't know what that particular carpet acted the way it did, nor do I know why it would take so long to establish that something was amiss.  But once I contacted the right person, things were dealt with in a very professional manner.

Very well, the arrived on-time and completed on-time and as agreed. Quality of work was very good and a follow up visit by the contractor after completion was done to assure satisfaction.

We found Paulson's through the Costco program.  "Hawaiin Brian" was the sales guy who visited our home and took the measurements.  He was pleasant and knowledgeable.  He was flexible with some scheduling difficulties that we created, and the carpet was installed in time and correctly.  It was a good overall experience.

Throughout the entire process we were very impressed with everyone
concerned. The salesman spent over an hour with us comparing colors to our walls and furniture and discussing the pros and cons of the different carpet types. The installers went above and beyond to insure that a very difficult installation was done to our satisfaction. Without question we would make this call again if we needed carpet.

we really wanted to like Paulson's, but it's not a surprise to see so many negative reviews. first the good: we liked working with Troy Wright who was our salesman, he is a super nice guy, professional and helped us really dial in what we wanted. now the bad: our installation was rough. the subcontractor installed the carpet in one room and had our hallway carpet torn out before they realized the new carpet was defective. they left the carpet in the room, but the hallway was torn up. they said we can just leave the pad or we can piece together the old carpet. we told them to put the old carpet back. instead of putting it down with staples or something low profile they nail gunned our old carpet down to the floor. so we had all these nail heads sticking up in our hallway until we got the new carpet in. the basement carpet was ok, no defect, but our doors wouldn't close. so instead of saying something about it, they took the doors off the hinges and left them off to the side and mentioned it on their way out. we didn't realize that door clearance was going to be an issue, it was never mentioned. (an aside here, Troy did help us out, and credited us the money off the bill to get 2 of our doors shaved) so they re-order the carpet. you would think for a 4000$ job they would expedite getting the new carpet out and installed....it took them almost a month to get back out to install the new carpet. I will mention, thanksgiving was in there, but that wasn't the reason it took so long. they wanted to bring the same contractor back to install the new carpet. we were told he was booked up with his own non Paulson's customers. So we pretty much had to work around his schedule instead of them sending someone out as soon as they got the carpet in to fix the defective carpet in the room and the nailed down old carpet in the hallway. so they come back to fix things...they did a good job in the room, but the hallway....we paid extra money to have the carpet only seamed once, the contractor seamed it twice. we were a little bitter about that, and the fact that the hallway just doesn't look like it was installed as good as the rest of the carpet. we were so tired of the whole process, we didn't want to wait another month for them to come back and reinstall the hallway carpet again and seam it once like we agreed. so we just decided to live with 2 seams and the not so great install quality in the hallway. we did get our money back for the seam issue, but we had a bad taste in our mouth paying the full rest of the balance considering the quality (in the hallway) and the service (once we had issues) we barely got an apology for the way things went. When Troy first came to our house to bid the carpet, we also asked him to bid for counter tops, backsplash in the kitchen and we were considering them for floors in the kitchen. That would have been another few thousand dollars on top of the 4000$ we paid for the carpet......when we do that work, we will not be hiring Paulson's due to this experience.

Overall everyone we dealt with was very professional and we were impressed with the job when it was done.  We didn't really know what we wanted when we walked into the store.  Samir went through all the options and we went back and forth and had more than one quote done for different materials.  Samir was very patient with us as we made our final decisions.

Installation: Travis and Cory the installers were very professional on the job.  It took a day or two to get phone calls returned but we were OK with this and not in a hurry to get the job done quickly, we were more interested in having it done correctly the first time.  The quality of the job, the cleanliness they left our home, and the respect they treated us with will have us asking for them by name in the future if we want to have similar work done!

They were horrible. There was granite falling off the wall and the flooring was horrible. When we pulled up we just got hardwood flooring and pulled the carpet off and the part was repaired with recycled crap and we paid the highest premium. They work is just going to fall apart and you are not going to get what you paid for and everything was bad.

It was a fiasco that took several months and many hours of time and negotiation to resolve.  The first carpet was flawed. They limited our choices on replacing it with a different one. In the process, a helpful supervisor finally helped resolve things, but not until I learned that we'd paid for 20% carpet than was needed and the tried to charge us 20% more for the replacement than was available at another of their outlets.

Quick, professional, and fair. They came to the house with samples, started on time, and finished when promised. They are not the cheapest, but they can be trusted to stick to their word.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB. THE QUALITY OF WORK AND PROFESSIONALISM WERE GOOD. THEY WERE NEAT. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU HAVE PEOPLE COME IN YOUR HOUSE, THEY MESS THINGS UP OR NICK SOMETHING, BUT THIS COMPANY DID IT VERY WELL.
