I really appreciated his willingness to meet whenever it worked best in our schedule. He made sure he was always available to meet up and the house was available, when we wanted to look at a house.
The Portland housing market is crazy right now, if you haven't experienced it already. Paul was very patient with us, but also made sure to be quick to get out offer sent to the seller.
He was able to help us make smart decisions in our home buying process and ultimately helped us get the house of our dreams.

We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into, as newbies to the process. We had a lot of specific things we were looking for, and weren't sure whether what we wanted was out there in our price range. Paul was optimistic and supportive from when we first met with him, and helped us to narrow down what we really wanted in a home. When it came to looking at places, he made himself available at convenient times for our work schedules. He helped us get offers in on a quick turnaround, once even while we were hiking in the Gorge! We enjoyed working with him.

Paul and JJ are amazing. We were first-time home buyers working with them and couldn't be happier with our experience.
What we liked most about working with them was the low pressure. We looked at houses periodically over the course of a year plus. Even when we were initially just curious, Paul and JJ were happy to show us whatever houses we wanted to see.
Paul and JJ are also incredibly honest. They actually dissuaded us from making an offer on a house we were initially excited about -- and I'm glad they did. The house we ended up with is a much better fit us, and Paul and JJ were great in helping us to get it. They gave us great intel to help us make a solid offer and then worked with us through the negotiation process.
We recommend them incredibly highly. Not just on Angie's List -- we tell all our friends to use them!

Paul's knowledge of the Portland-area housing market, real estate expertise, integrity, and strong work ethic and were very apparent through the entire process of purchasing my home.
He was available at all hours of the day, punctual, and quick to return calls/texts/emails. During our many home viewings, Paul was very honest with feedback, enthusiastic, efficient, and supportive.
When I finally did find a home I was interested in, Paul instantly got to work. He quickly submitted my offer and used his tactful negotiation skills to secure a great price (BELOW asking). He handled everything with excellent poise and allowed me to be involved as little or as much as I desired. The purchasing process was extremely smooth and everything was completed within the initial timelines he set.
I would confidently recommend Paul for all things real estate related and will definitely use him in future purchases and sales.

We loved working with Paul.  Paul's keen eye, quick action, as well as strong negotiating skills were the difference for us.  Prior to partnering with Paul, we attended several open houses and were turned off by the hard sell of some agents looking for our business.  Alternately, Paul had a very open approach and told us that he wanted to just meet and let us determine if he was the right fit.  We quickly noticed Paul's curiosity in each home and his willingness to explore each nook and cranny.  As first time buyers, we had peace of mind that he was looking out for our interests.  After only two outings looking at less than a dozen homes, Paul understood what we were looking for and our style.  In short time, he ended up finding the home that we ultimately purchased.  The home was listed for less than a half day when Paul spotted it, arranged for a viewing (we were first or second to see it) and helped us submit an offer.  We knew immediately that this home was right for us and Paul helped us to submit an offer that was convincing enough to move the seller to forgo an open house planned for later that weekend.    Thank you, Paul!

Once I did find the perfect fit, Paul was all about the details. He made sure that I was aware of the terms of sale and the details of the HOA. When it came time to close, Paul went to bat for me on negotiations before I signed.
I felt confident that Paul was looking out for my best interest every step of the way and could not be more thrilled with my new home!Helpful (0)EditDelete

I loved working with Paul. As a first-time homebuyer, I was a little overwhelmed by the homebuying process. I knew some of the basics, but Paul walked me through the process in more detail at our very first meeting and put me at ease. His passion for real estate is clear, and his knowledge of the north and northeast neighborhoods of Portland (where we were looking to buy) is impressive. He's so easy to get along with, too, which is obviously a huge plus when you're spending a lot of time with someone. I especially like that he kept it real when we looked at houses... none of this "oooooh, this is really great, and I can really see you loving this home" stuff that some other agents may go on about regardless of the home's state. If the house was weird, or had glaring defects, Paul was quick to point them out. In a market like Portland's is now, I think it's important to be able to quickly see the pros & cons of a house so you can make a quicker decision on whether to make an offer. Paul really helped with that. Once we decided to make an offer on a house, Paul was excellent. He used some creativity to help us craft an offer that couldn't be refused; we didn't have the highest offer, but the sellers accepted our offer anyway because of Paul's creativity. I would definitely recommend Paul to all of my friends and family looking to buy a home in Portland!

We bought our first home with Paul. I can't say enough about how helpful he was.
He completely took over all of the hard parts of the process. He knew each house we were going to and the good, bad, ugly about each.

The best thing about Paul was his attentiveness. I would drive past a house or see one on Zillow and text him. Most often he would be ready to meet us at that house within the hour or at least that day.

He was extremely patient with my millions of questions on the daily.

He also recommended an awesome broker!

As a first time home buyer, I would not hesitate to recommend Paul to anyone who is going through this process. Paul was always prompt, courteous, and extremely helpful, even beyond the limits of searching and purchasing processes. I am very pleased with his service and will only use him when looking for future properties.

I'll admit, I was hessitant to go with Paul.  He is new in his career. So we met for an informational, getting-to-know-you session and I was blown away.  Any concerns I had were immediately squelched when we talked.
1.  He goes the extra mile to provide friendly, calm, and reliable customer service.  Whenever I had questions Paul was an email, phone call, or text message away.  And he was so responsive.  I loved it.
2.  He knows his stuff.  If you have questions, he has the answers.  He knows a lot about real estate, far more than other agents I've met.  Additionally, he knows about neighborhoods I was interested in, different types of housing, things to watch out for, etc.  I really appreciated knowing I could trust him.

I highly recommend Paul Rastler! I recently purchased a home in Portland, Oregon, and the first thing I did to begin the process was to contact Paul to show me some houses. His knowledge and familiararity of the Portland area (specifically N Portland, where I wanted to be) was unmatched by any other. He sent listings on a regular basis and took the time to learn what specific features I was looking for in my ideal home. From putting an offer on my house, through the inspection period and to closing, Paul was there to answer all my questions and made sure that I felt comfortable with the process. Paul has extensive knowledge in energy efficiency and was able to point out features of my home that would end up saving me money in the long term (things I didn't know)! I will definitely call him again when I start looking for my second home!!

Paul helped me to figure out what house would be best for my needs, and arranged for many house tours along the way as we discovered what my needs were. Once we made an offer on the ideal house, Paul drove the process through the closing. He helped me to explore financing options, he arranged for all the contractors, and he kept me in the loop as each step unfolded. He was an amazing asset, and it was through his diligence and knowledge that I was able to move into my dream home!

I started my search for a home about a month before Paul and I came into contact, I knew what I wanted for my family and I had talked to a few differet "agents" and I never had a good feel for them; I felt at home with Paul, Paul and I were on the same page.
I was very impressed with the amounts of houses that were available for my family and I to see, it was a dream come true!!
Paul had informed me that he was ab out to go on vacation to mexico with his new wife, if we needed anything while he was gone to let him know.. I had now idea that while Paul was on vacation that he would still be sending me proplerties to buy! while he was on vacation he found a property that my family and I would come to love....He had a co-worker show us the property. This was the home that we wanted and Paul was in the middle of his vacation and he was still able to pull the contract together. he made it possible..Without Paul I would still be in an apartment and I cant wait to work with him again!!!
thank you Paul!!! You are an awesome person!!!!

I have worked with Paul in 2 capacities: The first: Paul was my real estate agent when I was looking to buy a home.  The second is through my job as a mortgage broker where I have worked with many of his clients to get them pre-qualified for a loan and helped them through the financing aspect of the home buying process.
As my personal real estate agent Paul was fantastic.  He sent me new listings every day based on the criteria I had given him.  He spent a lot of time showing me different properties and was always, punctual, professional, friendly, gave good advice and was never pushy- only helpful.  When I finally found the home I wanted, it was difficult for me to be at all the inspections (home inspections and contractor bids for work needed on the home).  Paul was awesome, as he went to every inspection, relayed what happened, and followed through with all the contractors to provide me with bids.  In the end, he helped negotiate a great price for the home.  I feel his services were incredibly valuable.
As a mortgage broker, I have seen him interact with many clients, other than myself, and can vouch for the fact that he is just as wonderful with them as he was with me. I would highly recommend Paul Rastler as a real estate agent to anyone looking to buy a home, and will definitely use him again.

we met paul at on open house in the pearl.   we were a few months out from buying a condo, but i think he kept in touch...no pressure.
when the time came to look at condos, we contacted paul and he took it from there.   very easy to work with...not pushy.   we needed to revisit the condo we ended up purchasing several times and he was always able to find time for this.   paul was a good negotiator ...getting us a fair price on the unit we purchased.   paul met us at closing and was thoughtful enought to give us a nice thankyou gift.    i would use paul again next time i need help buying a condo in the pearl.

Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Paul on the purchase of my first home.  I was set on a certain area of town and had an approximate price in mind I was willing to spend.  I contacted Paul and by the next  day he had a packet with about 10 different options in the area and close to my price range.  After checking out most of the units in his packet we were able to find the one that best fit what I was looking for.  Paul also has a mortgage broker that was able to get me pre qualified within a matter of hours.  This made the process that much easier.  After putting the initial offer on the place, Paul went back and forth negotiating the price and we were able to reach an agreement with the seller within a matter of days.  Every time there was a counter offer we were on the phone discussing the next step.  I was pleasantly surprised with the work he had done in such a short amount of time.  Now, about 45 days later, I have closed on the unit.  Paul was there with every step of the way from start to finish.  I would highly recommend contacting Paul if you are looking for a new place to live.  I would personally recommend him to any of my close family and friends in the future and will surely be working with him again.

My first experience buying a house!  Paul made it easy.  He was punctual and responsive.  He gave me rides to all the houses we visited.  And he followed up after the whole experience.
