"Thanks, Member. For the record, since there were no operating system discs for the machine, I had to try to fix it without wiping everything and reloading. Your machine had months of failing Windows Updates. The "deep within" was corruption in the Windows manifests, which I had to try to patch together from a working machine. It actually took hours of detective work to locate exactly where the problem was - and as you say, I was only able to get everything mostly functioning well. I hope enough for your needs without costing more than the computer was worth. I was able to get your computer doing Windows Image backups, so you have a way of recovering if the hard drive goes. I did make your recovery discs as well - but these failed in trying to use them (said corruption in the Windows files, no doubt.) You were most understaning and patient, and fun to work with - which I appreciated very much!"

"I am sorry you were not happier with my services. First of all, we began with a non-booting laptop. After doing the usual troubleshooting things to try to get it to boot and being unable to do so, I did a complete system recovery. This takes time, and that time is determined by the system manufacturer and how their recovery options are structured. After the recovery, I then had to remove all of the preinstalled software the manufacturer includes in new computers which cause system instability and crashes. Secondly, I did all of this in 3 hours, which is quite short as these things go, and your total cost was $225 - not $350 as you stated. I also don't understand why you waited a year and a half to write a report, as the only information I have is what I wrote on the invoice - there is no way that I recall further details of what may have happened a year and a half later, with the numbers of computers that I service. Lastly, you say your only real issue was with the price (which if you called around you would find was definitely at the low end), yet you gave me a B on every other category as well, with no explanation as to why. Pardon my irritability - but your waiting so long to write this, then to mis-state the facts is irritating - particularly in light of the fact that these reports have a direct effect on my business. My reputation is quite stellar, and this report - though not terrible - may still unfairly tarnish that reputation."
