I was extremely happy with the whole thing.
Dan has done a lot of work in our area, and showed us many examples of his work--everything from apartment units to a million-dollar mansion. He was helpful and patient as we selected colors and textures. He knows a lot about paint, and paint has changed significantly in the past 20 years. (We used Benjamin Moore.) Based on our preferences and needs, he was able to suggest several options, but not so many as to make the process stressful or confusing. We live in a hundred-year-old house that had not been painted in quite a while, and Dan was also good at helping us decide the right degree filling and prep to do. He asked specific questions about how far we wanted to go in terms of restoration and completed the job at a level that fit with our desires. (I didn't want the interior to look like a new house: I like the roughness and irregularities of the plaster. At the same time, I didn't want the paint job to look in any way sloppy or slap-dash.) 
I work from home, and needed the job completed with a minimum of disruption to my space. He proceeded one room at a time, allowing me to move around and prepare each room as he went. That allowed me to not miss a single day of work. Because of this requirement, I had asked him charge me by the hour rather than by giving me a single bid. He did not allow this approach to extend the time the job took to complete in any significant way. I never got the idea that he was wasting time or doing any task slower than necessary. Furthermore, he was always conscientious, checking in with me on a regular basis to make sure that the progress and costs were within my expectations. He was also very neat, cleaning up and stowing his tools out of our way at the end of each work day...and also keeping the cat out of the paint, no small task! :)

I hired Palm Painting to do a pretty large two week job at my house. The work included drywall patches in multiple areas, texturing, prepping, and painting. The job was done to perfection. The walls all look fantastic, and I couldn't be more pleased with the finished product. The job finished on budget, and on time. Daniel showed up on time every morning, and was excellent at communicating with me throughout the process. I have referred this company to a co-worker as well, and he reported fantastic results as well. I will definitely hire this company again in the future, and I highly recommend this company.
