Excellent. Kevin, Morgan, and crew were outstanding. Removed dead and damaged limbs, some were 60ft up. Clean-up perfect. This is the second property they've done for us. Recommend highly.

Kevin and team were friendly and courteous. They showed up when they said they would and removed the tree as agreed. Price for services was fair. Customer service--and overall communication--at Overlook Tree ​Preservation is poor. They were unreachable the day of the job, despite repeated attempts via phone and email. I was expecting the stump to be ground down same-day, which did not happen. The company they use was unresponsive, and I am now setting this up on my own. I was disappointed with the mess left in the yard after the job. Finally, after bringing these things up with Kevin, rather than asking to help make things right, he responded that he "should have walked away from this job." Customer service is everything, and these guys missed the mark. I will not use them again, and would suggest anyone considering their services to think twice before calling.

They were responsive. they answered questions I had. They accommodated changes that I had while working; that I requested them do, and didn't charge me for the change. They were really responsive.

I would use them in future.

It went Great!!! Morgan and Brandon arrived on time and went thru the estimate that Kevin (owner) had given us the week before. Morgan explained what he was going to do and made sure it was what we wanted. They went right to work, Brandon on shearing and shaping the 7ft laurel hedge and Morgan started on pruning and trimming the trees. They worked as a team for about 3hrs helping each other. Finished the work and did a great job in cleaning up all the limbs and leaves, and chipping all the debris. We have used Overlook Tree Preservation for a number of years and we will definitely use them for all our tree needs.

I met with Kevin in Mid March to get an estimate for having 2 trees trimmed. Kevin showed up on time, was very professional and went over the a few different options for pruning and/or removing the trees. Having received a prior bid both were right in line with each other. I decided to go with Overlook Tree Preservation. When I called to make the appointment they had just had a cancellation so I was able to get this done right away.

Monday morning, March 31, 2014, Kevin and his two guys showed up right on schedule. Kevin introduced Brandon and Jon and went over the work to be completed. It took them about 3 hours to climb and trim the neighbor's cherry tree that was hanging over my property along with the maple that was in my yard. They did a great job so as to not damage anything. My yard is very small so they couldn't just drop things in the yard. They carefully lowered branches by rope and removed them from my yard. Again, they were very careful and thorough. They cleaned up afterwards in the back yard. Also, cleaning out on the street after running all the branches through the chipper.

I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them in the future.

It went very smoothly. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They cleaned everything up. The price was very reasonable, less than I expected. I will use them again.

He was willing to charge me less money if it took less then the estimate calculated. The workman and owner were great.

The project that they were assigned to do went without a hitch (as far as my unexpert eye). Kevin's crew was very pleasant and they methodically took the cedar down without any property damage.

Two workers sent out were very professional. They clarified exactly what I wanted and then executed. Both checked in to verify the trimming was to my satisfaction. When I asked for a bit more trimmed above my maple tree, they cleared out a bit more of the cyprus trees. We had asked for trunks and large stems to remain behind for firewood and they automatically cut them into perfect burnable pieces. Workers were curtious and friendly and very professional.

They were recommended to us and were very good; well worth the money -- their price was $500 less than another estimate I had. I will use them again in the future.

Kevin and team showed up on time, worked quickly and did a good job cleaning everything up. They even gave me advice on how to care for my trees I didn’t hire them to work on. They were friendly and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot from them. I would absolutely hire them again.

Kevin (the owner) was my 4th bid for the job, and even though he wasn't the cheapest, he was the most knowledgeable and honest, so I hired him. We booked the job 2 weeks out and the crew arrived on time and got right to work. I liked that Kevin himself did the bid and the work. The bulk of the job was done from 8am-3:30pm one day, and the rest was finished up (some tree trimming and stump grinding) a week later. He was honest with me when we were reviewing the work about some fence and sidewalk damage that occurred when they dropped a heavy limb, which I appreciated and was minimal. They offered to remove the wood chips, but I kept those for mulch. There was one confusing exchange with the contracted stump grinder, who called me when he should have called Kevin about the job that was to be done. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Communication from the start was tip-top, and owner Kevin MacKenzie came out promptly to provide an estimate for the service I required. He diagnosed the tree which had become completely overgrown and was blocking one of my windows, as well as part of mine and my neighbor's roof. He gave me several options, but in the end - since he had determined the tree was diseased - I decided to take it out. We did a complete walkaround of my property and he gave several suggestions for other tree-related issues I might want to address. The crew - Xavier and Alan - arrived a week earlier than we had originally scheduled, which worked out fine for me, as we wanted the tree down before any winter storms hit. The two gents were upfront, professional, courteous and completely on top of the project from start to finish. They even chopped up the limbs into firewood sized pieces and carved a few backyard stools out of the trunk. Once the tree was down, we had a ton more light in the house and my neighbor was thrilled the unruly branches were off his roof. All in all, it was a seamless process and the price was quite reasonable. I would definitely use these guys again.

They cleaned up all the wood when they were done. The price was very reasonable. They always returned my phone calls. They were very professional and courteous.

Kevin returned my call for an estimate within a few hours, and came to do the estimate within a couple of days. My husband talked with him and was very impressed with him. Kevin was able to schedule the work the next week. Alan and Brandon arrived on time and removed the lower limbs and cleared out the deadwood - the tree looks great! They weren't able to install the cable system that day because of an equipment problem, but they left a note explaining the situation and apologizing for any inconvenience. They came back the next day to finish the job. We're very pleased with the results!

All the trees and the Camellia look great now. The Japanese Maple needed major work. Kevin pruned it just like we discussed and it looks beautiful! I could not visualize what it would look like when pruned but now it has wonderful shape, the branches are up off of the ground, and will grow with nice balance and form. I didn't realize how much it bugged me the way the tree looked until it was pruned. Now when I go by it, I get an encouraging lift by how beautiful it looks. Kevin, thanks for your good work...we are very pleased!

The guys were friendly and hard workers. We got to keep our wood chips for garden mulch. However, there was major miscommunication regarding price/work to be done. The initial estimate was for $4000. Since we don't have that kind of money, we instead signed and agreed to have half of the trees done for an estimate of $2000. They went ahead and did the entire job anyway and billed us for $4000. I saw the additional work being done and I was confused. I assumed this was part of the initial $2000, since I had not been asked if I was willing to spend an additional $2000. This was entirely their fault, for failing to specifically tell me that they were doing a $4000 job. When we asked Kevin about it afterwards, he seemed unapologetic. The only concession made was that we could pay in installments. I have the sense that we were/are being over billed and the extra work was done rather flippantly, because we live in a nice home in a nice neighborhood.

Everything went very well. The crew was efficient and courteous and cleaned up thoroughly after themselves. They even cleaned up some other tree branches off our property that they didn't cut! The invoice was for the bid price and the trees look great.

Wow! Kevin was prompt in returning all phone calls. We set a date and time for him to come and give me an estimate and Kevin was right on time. He left me with a bid that was the middle of three bids. Kevin was polite and answered all questions that I asked. Kevin and his team arrived on time on the day work was scheduled to take place. They we careful to move any and all pots and patio furniture that might be in the way. They worked hard and only took a break for lunch. All areas were well cleaned after the work was completed. The trees look fantastic. Kevin is coming back to do some fertilizing for me once the rains set in. Kevin and his team work together well and it is obvious that they have a good time working together.

I'm an out-of-town landlord and Kevin was great at keeping in touch with me about the job. They arrived right on time, were very kind and professional with my tenants and did the work as scheduled and on time. It really made my life easy to have it go so smoothly from far away.
