"[Member Name Removed], this is Kate, I'm the owner of the N-Hance franchises in Vancouver / Portland metro area. Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry you were not pleased with the results on your floors. Your work was not done by my team...a neighboring franchise owner did the work for you because the Portland staff was not available to meet your scheduling requirements. I hope you have followed up with him as well on your concerns. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to facilitate a resolution."

A person came out to examine the kitchen woodwork, and present an estimate of both time and cost. The cabinetry (high quality birch plywood) and window/door trim (old-growth fir) was in mediocre shape, tired and dull. Within a couple of weeks, nhance sent out a craftsman to perform the work, which consisted of cleaning, degreasing, light sanding, minor repairs. After the cleanup phase, he used dyes to alter the color of faded parts of the woodwork to create a much better unified appearance, then he revarnished (water based urethane) all the cabinets and trim.
The result looks fantastic. Just be aware that the woodwork is not refinished, but more restored. The years of wear and tear, filled holes, chips and such do show up somewhat, however, the cabinets and woodwork now appear well-maintained and very cheerful.
My only reservation with the whole process was that the estimate turned out to be about 30% low, both in terms of cost, and time to complete. The craftsman had to work 3 full days, instead of two. That being said, it's always hard to estimate what it takes to restore any old thing.

On time and on budget. Cant beat that combination. The team - Chris Yev and Eric were terrific hard workers and skilled. In addition they were very careful with our home and belongings. The floors look amazing. They came in early Monday and left early Wednesday afternoon. this was a very positive experience. Sue in the office was also a great help.

They were on time, finished the job in two days as they promised.
The cabinets were beautifully refinished. I had a couple of cabinet in the kitchen that were badly worn, they look like new after the refinish. I'm very happy with the result. They also installed new knobs without extra charge.

He worked very well. He got here on time and was done by noon. He was efficient and nice. He was very honest. When he was done he said that we did not need any sanding so, he removed that from the bill. I thought that it was a little high. I had them do our bathroom.

The project had some issues, which is typical of any remodel. These issues were handled patiently and professionally by the NHance staff. Our issue is the cabinets had areas that scratched within days of "completion". Some cabinets need the color matched a little closer. Multiple calls have been placed, only a few have been returned. We still owe half the money which I would gladly pay once the project is actually completed.

"We have completed this job and received payment in full for this client. I have asked him to update his review and have not gotten any response back. His project was done during the transition from the old owner to us, and there were some communication challenges. All employees of the previous owner that produced less than excellent results have since been replaced. -Kate Gailunas, current owner N-Hance Portland/Vancouver"

We purchased tile for the backsplash and thought we were ready to get the work done. The first hint of a problem was when they scheduled the work, then kept calling and rescheduling because they had other jobs in progress. That's ok once, but more than once, and the day before they are scheduled? Not so good. The owner showed up on the first day to check things out, then told me that he couldn't do the backsplash or remove/replace the mirror because he wasn't licensed to do it. I reminded him that we had talked about it and he said he could. He then tries to back pedal and tell me he never said he could. I bought tile based on his statement that yes, they could take care of it. Another bad sign. So, worker begins work. Seemed a little uncertain of what he was doing, but, what do I know? Then, he leaves early and doesn't return as scheduled the following day. I call the owner and he tells me the worker has another job that just had to be finished! What about my job that was scheduled and rescheduled over the period of a month? Finally, the worker returns and supposedly finishes the work. Looking at it I cannot believe this is 'finished' work. I call the owner again and tell him the job looks terrible - uneven surface, rough surfaces, dripping stain. He THEN tells me the job was harder than they thought it would be. He asks if I want it redo. NO - but I also would not pay the balance of $400. All in all, a terrible experience. I had to have the entire thing redone by someone else.

"This review represents feedback from 2009, when a previous owner was running the business. Even though I purchased this N-Hance territory in 2012, according to Angie's List, I must inherit this review. Angie's List is unable to explain why a review from 2009 suddenly appeared in August 2012. My business is focused on wood refinishing and carpentry; tiling is not part of our service offering. We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured and strive to work in a professional manner with exquisite craftsmanship. You can also check our background with the Oregon CCB and the Better Business Bureau to see we have nothing but a stellar reputation."

They did a great job. They are very courteous and their customer service is excellent. If there is any issue they are great about correcting it. I will use them again in the future.

They did a good job and I was very happy with them. The guy, Eric, who actually did the work, was very conscientious. Tom is the owner of the company, but I forgot his last name, and he was good. Eric is the person on whom we put our faith in.

The work turned out excellent. They were really good. If we had an issue, they came back right away and fixed it. They were very responsive and easy to deal with.

Our floors had a 25 year old finish on them that needed help and NHance came thru with flying colors. On a scale of 1 being low and 10 being high our floors turned out a 9 without a total sand down hassle. Sue Crotty the estimator was a pleasure to work with and was right on with pricing and suggestion. I have already recommended NHance to a friend. The hardest part of the refinish was keeping the furniture off the floor for a week to let it dry and wearing socks only on the fresh new surface.

I think the cost was approximately $1800. Their work was wonderful, but something happened while they were redoing our kitchen cabinets. There was a drip that accidentally dripped down to our stainless steel refrigerator. It wasn't coming off. In trying to get off, it left a mark on the refrigerator. At first, they told me not to worry and that they would try to fix it, and they were doing great. Later, they just left it out for me. When I called back, they offered $200, but the door was worth $400 in the market. That's why it was such a big deal. I told them that I would probably see what's happening in the house a little bit, so it is still unresolved. I just left it. It is their own business, and I just decided that $200 to me was far worth for them. They tried to fix it, but couldn't fix it, and they didn't follow up. I followed up a few times, but they've never followed up. When they did the job initially, their response was very good. When they tried to come and fix it, their response was also good, but the follow up that I had to do was not good. Everything about their workmanship was good, but after the spill that happened accidentally, they tried to clean it up, but didn't compensate for damage. After that was done, we had them come back and work on the floors. They were good enough to use again, but they didn't follow through on making sure that everything was nice and tidy. I had them come back in September to polish floors and they did a great job.

"We refinished member’s kitchen cabinets in July 2010. Unfortunately, a drip fell onto her refrigerator door. Our employee who had done the work returned to the members home to address the drip. He was able to remove the drip, but the finish on the door was now blemished. We discussed options with member, including paying for a new door, or discounting future service. She was in the process of selling her house at the time. We asked her realtor about the door and if it would have a negative impact on the sale of the house. Her realtor did not seem to think it would. Member never communicated to us the cost of replacing the door or a desire to replace the door. Member had us come back to renew the finish on her floors, a $560 value. We have never received any payment for this service. She had us out to the house twice to get the floors perfect, which we were happy to do at no charge. We have not heard from member since the floors were completed and felt the issue was resolved to her satisfaction. Since the member moved to Colorado last fall, and did not provide us with any contact information, we have no way of following up with her directly. We have subsequently contacted the realtor she used to sell her home. He could not provide her new contact information, however, he did mention that he was unaware of any issues regarding the refirgerator door and added that the home sold relatively quickly. He also told us the new owners ended up needing to relocate soon after and the house was sold again within three months time. He said the current owners love the house and no mention was ever made regarding the refrigerator. Had we been aware that there were any outstanding issues with the member, we certainly would have addressed them. As it stands, we have no way of contacting her and were completely unaware that the matter remained unresolved."

They did great. They had one tiny drip that went onto my stainless steel refrigerator that left a mark. I called the company and they came out right away to look at this. They informed me that if they could not fix the drip on the refrigerator that they would replace my refrigerator door, give a small refund, or give a future discount to us. They were great about reconciling the issue.

My husband and I found this company at the Portland Home Show. The samples of their work looked good, so we thought we would give them a try. Promptly got a quote and scheduled the work. They called before coming (which I appreciated) and showed up on time. Jonathan was very careful and thorough. We are very pleased with the work that was done and the cost was reasonable. I wish I hadn't waited so long, but then this process may be fairly new. No dust, no odor and dries quickly. Couldn't be happier with the results.
