Alan is a consummate professional and his work speaks for himself -- he's fabulous!
We were scrambling to find a tile contractor to install our kitchen backsplash and I called about nine different people only to be: 1) never called back; 2) told they were booked; or 3) told that they wouldn't do the design I wanted. When Alan called back I was relieved. He came by shortly after, did a walk through and I received a reasonable bid via email a day later.
The pattern I asked Alan to do was extremely tedious and difficult, and it turned out it took him more time than he expected. Thus, he asked if we could adjust the bid to compensate for his time and I gladly did so. The result is AMAZING!! I have a constant stream of sub-contractors through the house since we're still mid-remodel, and every. single. person stops and stares at the backsplash, which is truly the focal point of our kitchen and living area. In fact, I had two people here today that were telling me how beautiful it looks.
Alan is courteous, and is extremely communicative. I'm already trying to book Alan to work on my mom's house. I'd highly recommend.

First mistake was that the contractor failed to install the thermostat in the floor. He had to come back to dig out tiles and set the
thermostat in the floors. Contractor installed defective tiles in the bathtub surround. About 10 - 12 tiles had vertical lines in the glazing and one tile had a spot with no glazing. It took several weeks for the contractor to come back and repair this work. Finally, I paid the contractor to use Quartz Lock grout witch is a non-staining and non-sealing grout. He used a more inexpensive product that is an additive to regular grout.

Alan did a great job installing a tile surround for our shower. Not only was the tile work very good (despite the uneven walls and tub), Alan's communication skills are great. He kept in contact with us throughout the process and even made it to the job site during a snow storm. I would gladly recommend My Tile Guy again.

I had a fiberglass shower stall that cracked irreparably. I tore it out and called Re-Bath to see if they could replace it. They came out and gave me a quote double of what I had told them my upper limit was—that limit being $2,500. After that meeting, I was inspired to sign up for Angie's list to try to find a contractor to tile a new shower. I called My Tile Guy and another contractor based on reviews. Both bids were completive on price (and in my range), and I thought both people who came out were good guys. I selected My Tile Guy because Alan’s follow-up was better. Very glad I did. I told him that I didn't know much about design, but that I wanted something white that would last a long time. For all else I told him I needed his suggestions. Among a few other things like a shelf and a soap dish, he suggested going with white subway tiles with a slightly off white grout. For the floor, he suggested smaller, off white floor tiles that were hexagon patterned. This matched my color and quality requirements and turned out to be the perfect combo looks wise as a bonus—incredibly sharp looking. The quality of the work was top notch. Clean, professional, great craftsmanship. As a bonus, he fixed the drywall patch I'd accidently torn out when removing the old fiberglass shower. He also replaced some kicker board that I’d thrown out due to water damage. Regarding the price, Alan came in right on budget. Even better, he made a suggestion mid job that we both agreed would improve the aesthetics of the shower—a change that I didn’t realize would save me money. He passed the savings on to me, and so factoring that in, he actually came in under budget. Furthermore, at one point I was vacillating between shower curtain and shower door. He suggested that I could save money on the shower door by holding off on the idea since it could be added easily enough later. Huge savings! I really appreciated these things and felt like Alan was extremely fair and trustworthy in his business dealings. Regarding communication, he kept me up to date with phone calls and text messages. I was rarely home while Alan was doing the work so I gave Alan the pass code to get into my house. I was able to trust him completely, day in and day out. I’m going to have Alan do more tile work for us in the future, and have already recommend him to others.

He needed to do a final seal on the grout work, and I paid him understanding he would do it, but he didn't come back and he wouldn't return my calls.

It went fantastic. I had four contractors out to look at the fireplace, all of whom had differing views on how hard it would be. Alan seemed quite confident that he could do it and had the best rates by far. The others bid double what his estimate was. Before we even started, Alan went above and beyond by calling our home builder to find out who made the fireplace and how it was made to try to gauge how he would repair it. Then once he started the work, we surprised him by having the TV install done at the same time, and he didn't flinch. He worked well with the TV install person and did what was needed to get the job done. It could not look better. He was prompt, helpful and a pleasure to work with and to be around.

Alan was pleasant, prompt (appointment was for 8am and he arrived at 8:05), knowledgeable, competent, and flexible. We wanted to have about nine stone tiles taken out around the base of our toilet so that we could have some plumbing work done. I asked Alan if we could save the tiles and replace them afterward. He warned me that stone tiles were difficult to remove without damaging the tiles, but explained that it would be easy to find replacement tiles if necessary. I appreciated his honesty, and it did turn out that we needed to buy replacement tiles, but he went to the store to get them for us and added only the cost of the tiles to the final bill. The plumbers were quite delayed in finishing their work, and they were missing some very basic supplies. Alan went above and beyond by helping us locate the missing plumbing supplies we needed and re-installing the toilet after the new tiles were in place. I was disappointed with the plumbers, but very happy with Alan. The tiles look great - you can't even tell that any tiles were recently replaced. We hope to do some work on our kitchen next summer, and Alan will be the first person we call. Great job!

Alan is conscientious, thoughtful, skilled, flexible and talented - he knows what he is doing and he cared about our satisfaction and overall quality. He was a pleasure to have in our home. His work is excellent, and his prices are reasonable. He helped us think of creative solutions we hadn't thought of which contributed to the overall project. I highly recommend him and we will use him again!

Alan started the work as scheduled and did a fabulous job. Since there were several different styles of tile, it was done in layers over a few days. This was not just a basic tile job. We were very happy with his detailed work and his easy going attitude about how picky I am. I am probably the pickiest person on the planet. He had to work around some problems that the granite installers left, but came up with a great solution. I feel that he takes pride in his work and personally cared that it turned out well. We will definitely call him in the future if/when we need more tile work done.
Response from MY TILE GUY INC
"The Members were easy to work with and very flexible which made my job pretty easy. I have no problem with attention to detail, I feel that's my angle. When the customer is specific with the job to be done, it actually makes my job easier. That is exactly what they were. Great customers, hope to do more business with them in the future. We were remodeling the master bath in our 1920 cottage. We worked with an interior designer, who drew up a plan. Alan, the company owner, installed a natural stone floor and put in a very beautiful design in the shower. It looked like something out of a magazine!
