Mosaik Design's team has expertise in design combined with many years' experience in the building industry and they come with very high standards. They quickly understood our needs and tastes, and presented us with two designs, one using our existing footprint, and the other for a larger space, which we approved. They are very responsive and customer service oriented which made for easy collaboration in the design phase. In their execution phase, they work only with experienced contractors who share the same high standards. The project was extremely well project-managed by Scott. We appreciated the whole team's patience and responsiveness to our questions and willingness to making small modifications along the way. We have a beautiful kitchen, on time and on budget, and the whole process far exceeded expectations. We couldn’t be happier!
Scott Jaworski was the manager for the project. He provided a schedule and visited the job site daily. He checked the work of the subcontractors to make sure of the quality. One of the reasons we chose Mosaik was that most of the subcontractors had worked with Mosaik for over 15 years, that's got to say something about their quality workmanship. Scott paid absolute attention to details, the slightest error was fixed immediately (most of which I did even see). Although we made changes, travertine floor from porcelain tile, hot water loop, re-piping hot and cold water lines, and heated floors, Scott was able to hold to the original schedule.
Erin Davis worked with my wife on the design in selecting materials and colors. Erin was extremely patient and provided many alternatives when needed. The heated floor and travertine tile were examples which exhibited the patience of Erin. Initially we did not consider a heated floor, however Erin suggested that in most of their installations, they were installing heated floors, so we decided to try it. My wife and I absolutely love it. My wife was a little hesitant about the color of the porcelain flooring. Erin suggested travertine tile, which definitely appealed to my wife. Even though my wife loved the travertine tile as it was being laid out, the variation was to great and we did not like it at all. But by this time my wife fell in love with travertine. Erin managed to contact the supplier in Portland and allowed us to look through each batch until we found a batch with the right color and minimal variation. Normally customers can not do this, however Erin made it happen--patience going from porcelain tile to wide variation travertine to a more acceptable travertine.
The subcontractors were fantastic, their work was high quality, they cleaned up each day, and they were very pleasant to have in our home.
The guest bathroom followed the same procedure as the Master bathroom, with the exception being a bathtub with a hand shower head installation and we had a pocket door installed which replaced an inward swing door. We used the same style fixtures as in the Master bathroom.
The addition of the pocket door lead to the skim coating and painting of the hallway. The contractor sealed off all the rooms exiting to the hall way with plastic and covered the floor. The skim coating and sanding was a little overwhelming for us and we spent 3 days at a nearby motel. The subcontractors did an excellent job of minimizing the dust and clean up the area when they finished. We have 3 skylights in the hallway that have small tunnels going from our ceiling to the skylight. A difficult job at best to skim coat there but the subcontractors did an outstanding job, which turned out to be much better than the original job. The same held true for the paint crew, high quality and cleaned up when done.
We are very pleased and happy with the result. Scott provided us with a schedule, which he changed several times only to rearrange things so that he could stay on schedule. Scott said that Mosaik worked at finding outstanding subcontractors and from the results Mosaik has done a good job at that.
We enjoyed working with Erin and Scott and are delighted with our final bathrooms. In our opinion, Mosaik is a great company, they provide quality work and are easy to work with. We definitely will use them again.
