It ran rough since we bought it (seller out of business now). Previous service (from seller) did not really remedy the roughness. Montavilla service DID fix the roughness... runs smooth now.

I would refer them to others and I would use them again.

They were very good and I think the price was reasonable and it was also a kind of a rush thing since I grabbed my sewing machine after being in the storage for a long time. I wanted to give it to my niece to use for a class that she wanted to take within the few days. They were backed-up but they told me they give a really quick turn around for my niece to have it for her class. Overall, I was very happy. They seem very professional. They turn the machine around very quickly.

Nothing major was wrong, I just wanted a tune up. The machine is about 26 years old, so naturally there were a few parts to be placed. When they called me 3 weeks after taking it in (3 weeks was what they told me it would be when I dropped it off) I was given a total price of around 200.00, went to pick it up, 350.00. Fine, the difference was the price of the parts, honest mistake. That is not my complaint. My complaint is that I paid for a tune up and now my bobbin tension is crazy tight and causing damage to my fabrics. They say it's set correct during all tune-ups and want to charge me to look at it again. I understand it's an old machine, but it's a good machine, nickel and diming me is not going to encourage me to buy a new machine from you.

Find another place to take your sewing machine! After seeing a $20 off coupon in the paper for sewing machine repair I took mine to the Stark Street location. My machine had not been used in years and I asked to have it cleaned and oiled. The counter person wrote out a repair tag stating it was $84.00 minus $20.00 for a total of $64.00. When I picked it up, another charge was added for $20.00. When I disputed this additional charge, I was told and quot;Alignment is $20.00and quot;. Really? Why wasn't I told that when the original tag, which I have, was filled out? That so-called coupon was just a scam to get your machine in the shop, then ransom it back!

The service was also extremly slow. I was told it would be 10 days to 2 weeks. At two weeks I called the shop and was told it had not been started. Strangely, the next day it was done.

I took my almost new Singer into them for servicing and they confirmed my fear that it was more a paperweight than sewing machine. Adam provided great service, helped me pick out a new, reliable machine, threw in a service warranty and free motion foot for free. Friendly and helpful. I'll definitely return.

I took my machine there and they took a look at it. It turned out that there were no problems, just a bad needle. They replaced the needle, free of charge.

What a great experience! My old Singer hadn't been serviced in several years and I was recently having problems with the bobbin continually binding up and jamming. I took it in for service to the main store on 83rd and Stark and they looked at it right then and there to make sure it was definitely fixable and that I wasn't wasting my time throwing money into an old machine. Immediately the gentleman noticed the timing and needle position were off and said they'd be glad to tune it up and fix it for me. He was also happy to answer my questions, gave me a brief history of the Singer company, why they don't make the Singers like they used to, pros and cons of the new machines on the market today, benefits of the computerized machines over the manual machines, things to look for in a new machine if I ever decide to upgrade... but all with no sales pressure whatsoever. Six days later Montavilla called to say my machine was ready and my 40-year-old Singer runs just like brand new! Montavilla also has a one-year guarantee on their workmanship. I will definitely be doing business with Montavilla again.

I wanted something that was reliable and easy to use. I bought a new machine where the bobbin wouldn't get tangled. I took my old one in to get fixed but decided when I got there to just buy a new one. I was working on a project through church making quilts, and that's why I purchased a sewing machine. They were very helpful and experienced. I felt like I got a fair deal.

They carried my heavy sewing machine from and to the car, did the cleaning, oiling and regulating as requested. It took less than a week and everything seems to be working OK. I was very pleased with the job and would recommend them. The discount coupon helped with the expense greatly. They answered all my questions about a potential new machine.

Came away with the impression of "I don't want to be bothered fixing your machine."

I picked up the machine, but didn't try to use it for a week. When I did I was still having problems. Imediately I returned to thier store, I was pretty hot and not to polite. They were so nice (I'm not a seamstress just an old man) they made me feel ashamed of myself. They took the time to give me a sewing lesson and show me features that I didn't even know existed on the machine. The machine worked perfectly, it was the operator causing the problems

I purchased both a new sewing machine and serger here, and they have been terrific in helping me learn how to use the special features and in maintaining my machines. When problems have arisen, they have fixed them promptly. I also have purchased a maintenance agreement for my serger from them, and they have been very responsive in providing unlimited maintenance and repair.

I purchased a sewing machine and have not been able to obtain any sound advice on how to run it. I took it in for a check up shortly after I got it home because it was not working properly. They kept it for about three weeks I am still having problems. I asked for a phone call so that I may set up lessons, but no one has contacted me.
