Micro-Structures

Brennan worked with us closely on the design, which evolved quite a bit over time.  His work is excellent and his design chops are top shelf.  He's very professional and talented, would absolutely use him again.

My husband and I contacted Brennan based on other reviews on Angie's List as well as the excellent design/workmanship shown on his website.  He listened to our design needs: small structure with ability to store tools, bigger lawn equipment and our bikes as well as need for an aesthetically pleasing structure due to it being in the front of our home.  Brennan agreed it would be best to design the shed to match certain elements of our home and designed a similar slope to the roof, matching window, and cedar shakes for siding.  Brennan possesses incredible attention to detail and significant pride in his work.  The work was completed in a timely manner, as well.  Brennan developed a shed that not only fit our needs, but also is beautiful to look at and well worth the expense.

Brennan, of Micro-Structures was professional, artistic and very easy to work with.  His prices were competitive and he got the job done in the time he said he would.  I would definitely recommend him and use him again for any wood related job.  We now have a beautiful new gate where an old dilapidated one used to live.  He is an artist!!

Brennan was extremely professional from start to finish. He has an artist's eye for design and an engineer's attention to detail. He understood what we wanted out of a shed and then enhanced the design to bring us something even better at our relatively small budget. He built us a shed that will probably outlast our house. He completed the job in less time than estimated and communicated very effectively throughout the entire process. He handled the complex nature of the job and unexpected challenges w/poise and skill. We're thrilled w/the shed which is not only sturdy and functional but also beautiful, anchoring the yard perfectly. We've already asked Brennan to complete another job for us and we look forward to working with him again. He is very, very highly recommended.

We couldn't have had a better experience. Brennan's attention to detail is very very high. He was very much able to understand the functional needs of the building and also the aesthetic qualities we were looking for from the outside. Brennan was very easy to work with and very clear about what items would generate change orders or additions to the scope of the building and which items wouldn't. There were no surprises in terms of cost and the structure was completed pretty much on schedule. This was especially difficult given the complexity and functional requirements of this small structure.

I called Micro-structures originally because I wanted Brennan to build my outdoor cat a cozy little home for the winter. I've known Brennan for many years, but didn't know that he's been doing general contracting for some time now. I cringe thinking of all the work that has been done on my house by lesser-experienced hands when I could've called Micro-Structures. Ouch. So, after talking over my little cat project, I decided on the spot to hire him for some bigger work. I know from experience that Brennan is a talented designer and master woodworker, trained in furniture and cabinet making, which requires extreme craftsmanship and attention to detail. You name it; he can build it. I hired him to replace a large portion of fence in my front yard, including a large driveway gate and smaller side-yard gate. His work is flawless. He went above and beyond what I could have envisioned and still managed to stay on budget. His pricing is very competitive, and I think part of that is because he is so knowledgable, intelligent, and creative, and is able to solve problems quickly and efficiently, where others would be scratching their heads and charging you for the time. As someone who's worked with lots of contractors in her life, I'd also like to mention that it's so great knowing that I can give Brennan a key to my house and know that all is well. I know his wife and his daughter; I can tell him to feel free to make himself some tea while I'm at work. It's a good feeling. So, the cat ended up finding a cozy home on the neighbors' front porch, but I ended up with an awesome new fence that will clearly last for years and years. I've hired Brennan to reconstruct my front porch now, too!

The whole process was smooth. Brennan is responsive via both email and phone, and showed up when he said he would. He's a nice guy that I'd enjoy having a beer with. And while we probably could have found someone a little less expensive, I don't think we could have matched his workmanship or design skills. Look at his website, this guy is as much a designer as a builder.

Brennan was always punctual and provided a number of different designs based on our feedback. Always very professional.

When he did the work, he found more rotted spots in the shed. He took care of those without extra cost. The work he did looks very nice. I had also asked him to put some cement blocks under several corners to get it out of the mud and he did that at no extra cost. He also scraped the mud away from the base of the shed. The other thing that I really appreciated was that he was really good communicating with me when he would be here and where he was in the process of doing the work. I would highly recommend him.

I had an excellent experience with them. They were very professional and on time for the appointments. They delivered what they promised. I give them all A?s for their services. I would use them again in the future.
