After getting a higher than usual water bill I searched and found a leak at the water main valve outside the foundation of my house. After finding Mark on Angie's list to fix an emergency leak back in September of last year I wrote a review then and said that I had found my plumber for life. I called Mark for this new issue and found out he was very busy and couldn't get to me for awhile but he did tell me to look for a few things and to dig around the leak and take a picture and email it to him. I got down to the leak and realized it was a gusher and sent the pictures to Mark and followed up with a call to him. Mark had just gotten home from working all day and since I couldn't turn the water back on Mark looked at the pictures and said he would come right over. Mark has a heart of gold to take the time in the evening to come to my house and fix the problem on the same day I called him. I was extremely pleased with the price he charged to fix the leak considering it was an emergency. Mark is the best and I would recommend him to everyone looking for help. Please people this guy is good and fair and cares about doing a good job for his customers so if you need help call Mark.
We had just purchased a home (built in 1977) and had "closed" on a Wednesday. I emailed Mark Thursday night. He returned my call on Friday morning and agreed to come out the very next day - a Saturday - because we were planning on moving in on Sunday. Mark arrived on time and got right to work. I had told him our pre-inspection had found a few of the shut off valves needed replaced. I told Mark to make his own assessment, which he did. Mark identified the same issues discovered during our inspection - and more!
Mark thoroughly explained his recommended repairs, provided us with options for how to proceed and explained the possibility he might find further problems after starting his work. Mark explained that some of these repairs, depending upon serverity, might result in cutting holes in the back of cabinets. I told Mark to begin the repairs and to completely fix any problems he found - I didn't want "band aid" repairs - and I think Mark appreciated having the approval, as needed, to replace the original (and corroded) galvinized pipe nipples between the copper piping and the shut off valves.
Mark got busy as we had no less than nine different sets of shut-off valves to assess and repair if needed. Mark did a great job! He reapired the stops and nipples that needed replaced but left functioning shut-off valves in place. A couple of the repairs required a bit more work - removing the stops, nipples and even some of the fittings in the wall. Along the way, Mark kept an eye out for other items of concern. If there was an immediate need to correct a problem, I told Mark to make the repair.
After spending serveral hours of a beautiful Spring day under sinks and behind toilets, Mark explained to us the repairs that he made and gave us some suggestions for items that would likely need some attention in the future. His fees were EXTREMELY reasonable given the short notice and the Saturday work. We plan on having Mark back to install a garbage disposal, replace a failed pressure reducing valve at the water supply line, replace a cracked, but still functioning, sink trap and install a new dishwasher.
We really appreciate working with an owner/operator like Mark as there is no confusion or miscommunication between the person bidding the work and the person doing the work - because Mark does his own work! So happy that when we searched for plumbers on Angie's List we filtered the responses by those closest to us. Not only did we find a great plumber - thanks in part to other Angie's List reviews - but we found a great plumber who lives close by, which could be invaluable in certain instances!
As it stands, Mark is going to be our "go to" guy for all our plumbing needs!
The only reason I gave him a "B" for price was sticker shock. I normally do these kind of things myself, but got lazy and wanted someone else to go into the crawl space. So I had no idea what it costs to have a professional come do the work.
