MAC-BO BUILDERS LLC

This was an incredibly enjoyable experience -- I cannot say enough about the qualify, attention to detail and professionalism of MAC-BO. 

From the inception of the idea to the selection of products and materials and completion.  Kirk Linder listened to ourvision and found products for review and selection, we traveled to showrooms and he sent samples via regular mail and links via email.  Kirk Linder was with us every step of the way; finding new options when we couldn't find what was in my mind's eye. 

During construction, every day the project was cleaned up -- floors and carpeting were masked, no dust, no tools, no supplies left in the house.

When the project was complete, the bathroom and adjoinging bedroom were left immaculate -- except for the amazing transformation of the bathroom you would never know that there had been a construction project in the house.

Mac-Bo remodeled my bathroom and the experience was extremely positive. Everyone involved in the project was courteous, conscientious and highly-skilled. The crew were always on time and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves after each work day. The job took about 5 days which is exactly what they estimated. I highly recommend using Mac-Bo for your project.

They were a joy to work with. Came when they said they would and all of their contract folks were on time and cleaned up when they were done. Great contract folks! Mac-Bo did painting of our kitchen, living room and long hallway and new laundry room. The one hard part was communication about lighting. I talked to the electrician they had contracted regarding a fixture we wanted to put in our dining room. The electrician discouraged us from purchasing it (we have beam ceilings, as he thought it couldn't work with our ceilings. We went to the Lighting Company recommended by Mac-Bo and picked something out. It didn't work either--there was not good communication between us and Mac-Bo & the lighting company. Oh well. We did eventually get to install the fixture we wanted in the first place and Mac-Bo credited us our lighting allowance. All good. The resulting kitchen is amazing. I so appreciated how Mac-Bo listened to our needs and ideas and then made it work! Well done one and all.

Overall the project went fantastic. The siding contractor Mac-Bo hired were extremely good. They did a phenomenal job and didn't waste time or sacrifice quality. I was impressed. The remodel of the inside of the house went very well. We ripped out all the flooring on the 1st floor and replaced with beautiful acacia wood and carpet in the living room. We also remodeled both the master and guest bath and upstairs hallway. The tile and flooring contractors they hired were true artists and perfectionist's. Their work is impeccable. Besides the standard issues that I would guess come up during a remodel of this size (back order on the tile I wanted) and a few scheduling issues around the holidays, it went well. I was thoroughly impressed with Ed and Kirk. Ed, the owner of Mac-Bo would come over and make sure things were being done as expected and addressed a few hiccups himself. I would highly recommend Mac-Bo and feel as I have made good friends in the process of my remodel.

Needless to say, their lack of providing a valid contract with specifications eliminated Mac-Bo. Thankfully, I never gave them any money. Estimated cost was $14,000. Update-the initial contract called for costs to be less than $8000-Based on the initial contract-I paid them several thousand dollars to initiate engineering services.......AFTER I'd paid them for engineering(And to make matters worse, I'd already paid for my my own engineering evaluation) , the contract was changed to over $14,000.....thousands already spent just to start the project....too late to fire them...I really didn't have a choice after this much money had already been spent. Never, never. never would I hire them again...the worst renovation experience I have ever had.

When I began this process friends and family shared their stories of remodeling nightmares and how by the end of the project they hated their contractor. Well at the end of my project my contractor Mac-Bo Builders and staff are like my family. They were there for me from the first step of creation till the day I moved in. Ed Hesse the owner was always available for me even in the evenings after I would get off work. I would walk through the project wondering what was going on, calling ED @ 9pm on his cell phone so he could let me know he was already taking care of it and I did not need to worry. But the most important part of this project and working relationship was the honesty, integrity and the quality of workmanship that Mac-Bo provided. They were professional and helpful the entire time. I would pick Mac-bo to do all of my projects in the future.
