I just got the stove and the refrigerator. When they delivered the refrigerator they didn't get the door on straight. So when I called and complained they sent out these other two delivery people and Mr. macho, young guy, 23 years old decides he's going to bend it into shape -- well that made it worse. So I went back to Lowe's and told them this was not going to work and they said they would replace it and I said do you realize now we're going on weeks and I've not had a freezer or refrigerator and so I asked them to give me the next one up that was $300 more for the same price and that's what they did. They scratched the front of the refrigerator when trying to remove an emblem. Their service people are not the sharpest and are not trained.

I had a refridgerator fail and went first to Home Depot to get a replacement on a Sunday. They would only deliver Tuesday through Saturday. I have Sunday/Monday off. Lowe's would deliver on a day of my chosing. They could not deliver the next day so I had to wait a week. Fortunately I have a secondary freezer and could fit fridge items in a large cooler replensed with ice from a nearby convience store, so that was not a problem. The installers arrived on time and were polite. However, they would not switch the door hinges, but did show me where to find the instructions to do so. They did not level the appliance. I have not had time to do either of these tasks, but have learned to make sure the doors are closed until I have time to level it. May main complaint is with the installers and not the people I worked with at the store. However, Lowe's is responsible for their choice of subcontractors.

The Lowe's installation people were in an extreme hurry to install our new Clothes Washer we had just purchased from Lowe's. I wanted to clean behind the washer when the old one was pulled out. They told me they had done that. But later when the faucet leaked I found they had not wiped the floor at all or picked up any items that had been dropped there by accident. The whole issue is lack of Lowe's backing the workmanship of their personnel. My old washer, which I loved but was going to be too expenisive to fix, had been hooked up to the faucet for 11 years without any issues. As soon as Lowe's installers attached the hose, evidently incorrectly, it leaked. This was June 27, 2012. Two days after installation I saw water coming out from under the washer. I called
the number on the paperwork, Whirlpool. They said they would send out an appliance repair person. That took another 5 days for the repair person to check the washer and say it was not the washer and to call a plumber. We did call a plumber and he had to replace the faucet, which we paid for. He told us it was installation people that touched it last and it was totally their responsibility for the leak. He also told us he would testify in court to that effect. Whirlpool asked we get two estimates to replace the laminate floor in our
utility room as it was completely ruined by water damage, which we did obtain. Then Whirlpool told us it was Lowe's claims department that would be responsible for the replacement of the floor and to call the store. We contacted the store and was referred to claims department. They referred us to Christina in their claims department. She said it was not their fault and continued to argue the fact rudely to my husband. She offered a $100 gift card which was a total insult. She finally requested we obtain an estimate to replace the floor from Lowe's. Lowe's charges $40.00 for an estimate, which we were certainly not going to pay. She waived the estimate charge. The estimate came back at half the amount of the other two estimates we had received from local flooring companies. Lowe's had left off several items from the estimate including the underlayment !! I brought this to the attention of Ana Johnson at the local store and she became very indigent about the whole thing. I told her let's do this 'apples to apples' as I was only asking for a replacement of the same type of floor that was in the room. I called Ana Johnson again for a complete estimate. Finally had to call the estimator to contact Ana Johnson concerning the missing items to replace the flooring. We finally received the estimate which was closer to the other estimates. The other two estimates were over $800. By now it was October, 2012. Christina still rudely argued it was not their responsiblity even though they caused the leak and was backed up by plumbers assesement. Now Christina offered a $350 gift card. This would not pay for the floor replacement. Claims department has rudely insultingly argued and dragged this out for so long that it is a complete nightmare. We are left now with nothing but this Angie's list review to warn other people, Better Business Bureau, and Small Claims Court. I would rate the customer service, professionalism, and responsivness with a -F.

Response from Lowe's - Portland
"Our store sent out a repairman to the customer’s home to locate the source of a water leak after the delivery of a washer. The source of the water leak was found to be a pipe in the customer’s wall and not the connections made by the delivery drivers. We asked that the customer go to our store and get an estimate for new flooring and we would provide half the amount of the estimate in a gift card. Our offer was extended as a customer service gesture and the customer chose not to accept our offer and thus the claim was denied. Should the customer have any further questions she should refer to Claims Examiner Christine Sanchez 704-758-5784 Thank you, Emily Greene Lowe’s Executive Support Coordinator"

The stove needed help; so they referred me to another company. I bought a 4 year warranty along with it and I needed it this time. They were great and everything was real easy. I was in and out in not much time.

I had a similar experience with the other big home appliance retailer and between these two and my awful experiences, I am not ever doing any kind of home repair with a big box, uncaring corporate chain store ever again. My sales person at Lowe's was great, gave me great ideas, pointed me towards a nice product that he assured me was plentiful, in stock and on hand at all locations. I purchased carpet, 12x12 grey marble tiles, and the sales person finished the order with the miscellaneous materials and then I waited for the sub contractor to call me with an installation date. Then I waited....they said the tile had to go in first so I waited for a date for the floors to go in...and waited and waited. Finally when the floors went in I was shocked to come home and see the house done with the wrong kind of marble tile! They put in yellow, I ordered grey but the yellow and grey had the same sku!?!? Then the fingerprinting began, did the supplier change the lot?? Did Lowe's mess up the order?? Is the contractor color blind??? The tile on display, that I purchased was not what I found when I came home after the installation. Then, my nightmare began. I had to tell the contractor to rip out an entire marble floor, he was not happy, I was not happy. The product which I had been assured was the same lot, quality and in stock was in fact not the same, not good quality and not in stock. I had to drive to every Lowe's store between SW Washington and Salem, Oregon to get enough quantity of the tile that I chose. I paid for the tile twice, wasted hours and hours traveling between stores, fighting with Lowe's to refund me for the wrong tile they supplied the contractor and now after weeks of tile installation and removal I am left with 3 different colors of grout, 5-6 different lots of marble tile and a stack of tiles in my garage because I can not trust Lowe's when they say they keep the correct tile in stock, all the time. Everything I own is covered in marble dust, my floors are not the floors of my dreams and I have no energy to fight Lowe's anymore.

We live in Southern Oregon, and it was easy to handle this on the phone for tenants in Portland. The only hiccup was the delivery people called OUR number when they were sitting outside the tenant's house in Portland. But that was easily squared away. The new machine works fine and everybody's happy. The only reason to downgrade the "price" rating is that it's a Frigidaire, by all accounts a not-very-quality machine. But so far, so good. We have used Lowe's installation services previously on a floor and have been impressed and very satisfied.

Ordering process was fast and easy. The sales guys at Lowe's know what they're doing. I was given a 2 wk delivery time for the vinyl, 4 week for the fiberglass window. At a day beyond two weeks I called to inquire on the status of my ordered and was informed they moved back my delivery date an additional 4 weeks(!) from the date I called...because the fiberglass parts were back ordered. I was disappointed that I had to call them-they should have at least informed me of this-and that they didn't even start to manufacture the vinyl windows because they wanted to ship all at the same time. Retarded. Lowe's Customer Service manager lacked initiative it trying to expedite my order and (this not being the first time their special order services nor Milgard has messed up) never offered a thing to make up for the mistake. While I will shop at Lowe's for tools, hardware, lights and such...never will I order a door or window from them.

Lowe's provided great customer service. It was excellent. I was very impressed with the sales manager whom had actually went back to the store to get the hardware for us after the installer forgot it. The girl who even took the order for us was very nice. Everything was very well organized and everything went very well.

The staff totally ignored me. It was 8:00 at night and a couple of the staff were busy forklifting new product onto the shelves in aisle I needed to look at. They totally ignored me and just went on about their merry way. I never was able to get onto that aisle. I was able to tell that the only thing they had that I might have wanted was the 4 x 4 posts. I was really looking for the square steel fence posts. After looking all over the store, it appeared to me that they barely carried any fencing supplies, the only fence board they had was the plastic ones, and they kinda looked like junk, certainly not a match for my fence. I went up to the front of the store and asked a clerk for help (interrupting her conversation with another employee apparently). She was totally less than helpful, but did lead me to beleive that they didn't carry anything I was looking for. It wasn't so much their lack of product that ticked me off as much as her lack of responsiveness. Home Depot here I come.

Poorly run store. Part of a national chain. Restrooms are dirty and on my last visit had no toilet paper in any stall, no paper towels for drying hands and no soap in any dispensers. I do a lot of home improvement work. In the past year I've waited an hour and a half to get a forklift operator to retrieve the building materials I needed from an upper rack, an hour to get someone to cut 15 feet of electrical cable and the overhead speakers blare ''customer service needed in the pipe threading, lumber cutting, electrical or whatever departments'' non stop while I'm there - yet I always see Lowe's employees chatting with each other as if nothings happening. If you can find what you want on the shelf and get out, it's fine. If you need some help, abandon hope.

Craig was the person helping us. He took the time to go over different types of flooring we were trying to decide on. He seems quite knowledgeable in flooring! He was accurate in the quantity ordered, and the materials came in a week sooner than we had been anticipating.

Carpet Installation
It took the installation department a full week to get us set up for installation, only after my follow up call (just a little glitch for which they apologized. It should have been within 48 hours). It would take 10-14 days for the carpet to arrive, but it came in about a week. They called and scheduled me between 1-3PM the next day. The installer arrived at 1 PM promptly and was finished with the install in about one hour. The installer was well groomed, polite, and professional. He went right to work and cleaned up the mess when finished. The carpet looks great! Lowe's gave us a follow up call the next day to make sure that we were happy with the carpet and installation. Good customer service. The carpet looks great. I would not hesitate to recommend Lowe's for carpet.
