this job was scheduled during the busiest season. the overworked contractor had difficulty in promptly returning calls and making it to appointments (it worked using a combination of email and phone). the company was recommended by a friend, so I held off on the job until he was available. I think he's honest and easy to work with except for timing.
also, I was feeling put off by salesman type approaches of several others, especially people selling promotional manufacture packages which include 50 yr warranties and a Cascade contractor who overbid and said there was more rot than I had and he would do bird block soffit and baffle which is impossible on my house.
I think the roof was done very well.
I wish the contractor would have offered the option of having the insulation covered with plastic before doing the tear off.
There's no way to describe how dirty the attic is (100 yr. old dust and huge wood splinters).
I was very happy with the foreman. He explained every question. I trusted his thoughts.
My neighbors told me that all went well except one of the workers used loud offensive language.
I think it is imperative for the house owner to make on site visits. I found dry rot and called the foreman who was at another job. I don't know whether or not they would have found it.

I had noticed some failing parts of my roof last summer, but decided the put off a new roof for next year, until it started to rain in my master bedroom. I called around to a few places and got bids for repairs for around $4000. One of my good friends suggested that I call LDJ roofing as he had used them several times (he also mentioned that unlike many roofing companies LDJ pays their employees a reasonable wage, something important to me) and had always gotten good service. It took awhile to get in contact with Lane and to set up a time as he was so busy, but once we connected, Lane came out a took a look and told me he could repair the roof for $500 but wouldn't recommend this. He showed me where other areas were failing and obvious cracks that the other companies hadn't noticed. His price came in about double what other companies wanted to repair about 1/4 of the roof. Once we signed the contract, the LDJ formeman was at my house the next day tarping the roof to keep out any water until it was dry enough to start. When we got the supplies delivered, they couldn't load onto our roof due to a narrow driveway, and LDJ didn't increase the cost. The LDJ crew came on a Friday morning, moved any items away from the house, put up protective plywood, covered the grass with plywood to prevent damage. They kept one guy watching the area at all times to make sure that everyone was safe and that no objects would fall onto anyone walking by. When I needed to take my daughter to the store, they whistled to stop the work so that we could walk out safely. They got the job done in 2 days in 30 degree weather. Everyone was very nice and helpful, courteous, professional, and seemed to enjoy their job. Several neighbors have already commented on how great the new roof looks. Even better, they cleaned the yard and the gutters and got everything back to as close to normal as possible. I'd highly recommend LDJ roofing.

They are wonderful. I've used them before and I wouldn't call anybody else. They worked into the estimate and they came when they said they'd come. They had the entire roof finished in two days. They completely cleaned up. In fact my tenants were amazed. They said that they had never seen roofers like this. I know the stuff that they've done for me and I wouldn't call anybody else. When you call them, they do come. Some roofers are kind of lazy but these people are not. They are the kind of people whom you will find that would come home and do the work on your roof. They clean up beautifully. They do it just right. I couldn't be happier with the job that they did. I would call them again the next time.

They did an excellent job. They were very quick. Always on time and on schedule. Excellent job at site cleanup. They were very flexible in the work to be done. The owner is very easy to work with, very polite, professional, and knows his craft. He gave me an explanation of everything I had to have done and why.

It went very smoothly. LDJ fit us in during the rainy season (November) and got it done quickly. There was some water damage from a storm that passed over during the work but it was repaired for just a couple hundred dollars. This was a very tall building with very little space to work on the sides but LDJ managed not to damage any property nor hinder the movement of tenants into the building.

They did what they said they would do. The price was quite fair. And, I appreciated the communcation and professionalism. Quality crew.

Very well. Lane's bid was for $4270 and included information about added costs if additional wood needed to be replaced due to dry rot. The final bill included $200 for the additional labor with the diamond saw and for the wood board that needed replacement which was very reasonable. I have a Solatube which had to be removed for the job and Lane compensated me for the cost to have the Solatube staff come and reinstall it. I thought he was very fair and easy to negotiate with.

My interactions were with Lane, the owner. They were on time and extremely professional. They returned phone calls in a timely manner, and their quote was accurate. The quality of the work was great, and the entire job went so well that we'll definitely use them again in the future.

They had to work in sunny conditions but were able to come in over four days to remove all three layers of roofing, install new roofing and rework any dryrot. I really appreciated that he passed along the materials costs for the wood at cost, that was nice, especially when you're paying so much upfront for a new roof and all new gutters. They prefer cash/check as being a small business they get a large % taken out using credit. He seemed very responsive after I said I could pay cash. The roof looked great and the gutters looked average. The real perk was that it was done quickly and it has a 10 year warranty.

LDJ was responsive with their quote, their service, and follow-up for billing. I went by to look at the work and though I can't confirm the flashing and shingles are fixed the roof was moss free. Given the work needed to be completed quickly due to a "sale pending" status on the property it was important for the work to be completed quickly - which is was.

The experience was very good. He waited until a dry day and his communication with me was very good. It hasn't rained very hard since then, but it appears to have solved the problem.

LDJ scheduled the work within one day of my call. I was able to schedule an exact time of day for the visit which allowed me to come home from work and go back (no waiting around all day).

We recently moved into our home and knew the roof needed a bit of repair work, some additional vents, etc. We were told in our inspection that the shingles had roughly 5 to 10 years remaining and we were experiencing no leaks. Most of the top rated roofing companies from Angie's List that came to bid only seemed to be interested in a full tear off- repair was clearly a waste of their time and some didn't even bother to climb up on the roof before telling us this. Only some contractors bid after coming to the house. Lane Joyner came highly recommended to us by previous customers, spent a lot of time inspecting our roof, and provided a list of specific fixes and vent upgrades required to put us in good shape until our eventual re-roof. The work was done swiftly and thoroughly by a very nice employee and the price beat all other bids. We were very happy with LDJ and will call them first in the future.

I was very pleased, he was ontime and on budget. He was very personable, and he did a really great job cleaning up when he was finished.

Lane came to the house. Walked the roof completely. Provided a very competitive quote. Hired him after getting quotes from 3 other roofers. The other roofers seemed more interested in up-selling and adding additional costs. Lane had an honest conversation which we trusted and we feel we bought what we needed. Ended up doing an overlay that looks great. The crew was also fantastic and finished the job in one day. At the end of that day, Lane met with us and the foreman... and answered all of our questions. We also trust that if there is a problem... which we don't forsee, Lane will stand behind his work. Excellent experience.

Lane Joyner and his crew rock. Totally responsive, reasonably priced... I am a realtor and I hire Lane about a dozen times a year. I have yet to hear a complaint from a client... until last week... My client didn't notice in the contract that during a roof tear-off, debris will fall through to the unfinished attic (unless discussed ahead of time and arranged for.) We bought this house in July. One realtor told us the roof could be fixed with caulk, but the one we had said it needed whole new roof and recommended Lane's company.

They did a quality job at a respectable price. They are very pleasant and informative.

The company kept us informed about scheduling (difficult with a wet spring and early summer) and progress of the job. They are very responsive to questions, concerns. Job was done on time and on budget. This is a very large old Portland home that many roofers shied away from.

The price that I paid was exactly to the dollar of the estimate that I received, there were no add ons for anything. I would give LDJ Roofing a AAA rating...I am a VERY SATISFIED customer.
