Ken came in and removed all the old countertops.  Made little to no mess.  installed new beautiful granite slab countertops, all clean and beautiful.  Very happy with the end result.

Ken Lemmon from KJL was amazing. He did a wonderful job tiling our new standup shower and bathroom floors as well as putting in the brand new glass shower door. We loved Ken's attention to detail and his aesthetics when it came to finding the right blend of functionality and beauty for our bathroom remodel. When the supplier delivered the wrong shower door for our standup shower Ken took it upon himself to go out of his way to address the issue with the supplier himself, and came back a second time at no additional charge to fix the problem. His workmanship and commitment to customer service was outstanding. My wife and I would highly recommend KJL Construction to anyone looking for a quality bathroom remodeler.

Ken was extremely responsive in setting up a schedule for when he would do the installation. Came on time for the onsite review and was ready when that stage of the kitchen remodel was ready. Ken was BY FAR the least expensive installer out there - he did all the tile for $5/SF. He works by himself, which is how he must keep his costs down. Sealing the floor was not included in the price. Kitchen floor - we decided to go with hex tile that had a repeating single black dot that was repeated over and over. Hex tile is, by far, one of the most difficult tiles to lay down. It took Ken longer than he anticipated to put it in (he ran over by two full days). Also, Ken messed up the pattern several times (note: we had to point it out on each occasion......), but he tirelessly worked to get it right in the end. This was a bit annoying, as I couldn't understand how someone could miss such an obvious, repeating pattern........but, it was also easy to spot - and like I said, he was always very willing to make it right. Backsplash - installed subway tile with a decorative top to it (and quarter round where it joined the countertop). This work was fantastic - all level and perfectly installed. There were some tricky aspects with the connection to the tile and the countertop, but Ken pulled it off. Overall, Ken was great to work with (very talkative) and approached everything with a great attitude. Would definitely hire him again.

Ken is an extraordinarily competent island in a sea of frustrating contractors. His focus is on tile and stone, but he is also a qualified general contractor. Ken is punctual and thoughtful, personable and professional at the same time. He set an appointment to make an estimate and kept it, punctually. He did the work over three days, making efforts to minimize disturbance and mess, even volunteering to haul away our old toilet for us. His work is handsome, on budget, and came to half what the other tile company was going to charge us. Our wine cellar room is roughly trapezoidal (half-octagon?) in shape, in no way square our even--our house was built in 1890--but he spent the time to figure out the exact angles and find the most elegant way to lay the slate.
