The damage in the small, downstairs bathroom was discovered when I had a plumber out to do some work. The plumber referred me to Tim as someone whose work he was familiar with and Tim came out right away to take a look. Tim sent me an estimate within a few days. I decided to go with Tim even though I had not gotten any other estimates. Since I didn't have any other estimates, I can't say for sure, but I feel that given the hourly rate he quoted and the amount of time spent working (and purchasing materials), the estimate might have been a little overpriced. I would recommend that in the future he provide more of a breakout in the body of the quote to make it clear how he arrived at the final figure. Tim arrived promptly and worked within my schedule. He answered my questions about the job and went out of his way to fix the lump in the floor, even though that was not part of the original estimate. The completed work looks good.
