As a first-time homebuyer, I had no idea what to inspect. Nicole surprised me as being totally down-to-earth and so helpful. She seems really passionate about her job. She not only walked me through everything she found in her report, but offered solutions or recommendations to fix all the issues. And she offered to be available to me for more of the same help after move-in day! She is truly excellent.

Nicole was wonderful! She went places I wouldn’t (and physically couldn’t) and even did the best she could inspecting places too small even for her. She gave a thorough overview and worked with my schedule, and was extremely pleasant to work with. No question I’d recommend her!

My husband and I have bought and sold a couple of houses in the past few years and have had several home inspections done. We wish we had known about Nicole from Home Gnome from the beginning because when we had her do our most recent inspection, we realized what we had been missing out on with previous inspections. Nicole was incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. She arrived at our house early to inspect the outside of our house, and then took the time needed to thoroughly inspect the inside of the house including the crawl space and attic. After she finished the inspection, she put together a very clear and concise inspection report of both the good and bad and had it to us later the same day. She had very detailed information in the report and even included a number of great pictures with arrows pointing to specific items to go along with the detailed descriptions of issues. Our home builder was both impressed and a little annoyed at the level of detail that Nicole provided! After Nicole’s inspection, we were confident that we had all the information we needed about the house – good and bad. Nicole was wonderful to work with, very professional, clear in her communications and answered any questions we had even weeks after the inspection. She also did a radon test for us which gave us peace of mind on that issue. We were so impressed with Nicole’s work that we recommended her to as many new neighbors we could in the new development we moved into! Nicole will be the only home inspector we call in the future! I contacted Nicole to conducted a home inspection at my request as part of preparing to put my home on the market. She came highly recommended by a friend, so I hired her services to inspect the home to identify areas that required attention.. She exceeded my expectation with a fully documented (pictures and written summary) package that was not only used to resolve identified issues, but it was also used during the the real estate sales process. Very professional and I was very happy with her services.

Nicole caught the aesthetic issues but the bones of the house were in incredibly bad shape with plumbing even going straight into the yard. Though my plumbers say she should have caught the issues, she did not. It has cost me around $20k in plumbing issues. I never leave bad reviews but in my situation, I just wish I knew this house would cost so much beforehand or I wouldn't have bought it. Since I've signed Nicole's paperwork, I have no right to say anything against her home inspection.

"Thank you for your review. Home ownership can certainly be overwhelming and I completely understand your frustration, but you have to read the home inspeciton report BEFORE you buy the home, not after. I offered to be of assistance when you requested that I resend the inspection report earlier this year. You did not respond then when I offered support and you offered no solution. It's disappointing that you feel you have to damage my reputation because you did not do your due diligence after receiving my inspection report in 2016. I'll restate publicly what was recommended by legal counsel: Your statements are factually inaccurate and not reflective of the work I have performed. Your claims are inconsistent with our home inspection agreement. Oregon law states that home inspectors are not allowed to "Enter any area, undertake any procedure that may damage the property or its components, or be dangerous to the Oregon certified home inspector or other persons", and specifically mentions that underground items are excluded from the inspection. The issues you are accusing me of missing were IN concrete UNDER TILE or in the GROUND. These things are not visible without destructive investigation. I do not perform sewer scopes. Your home was sold "as-is" (you agreed that there would be zero repairs by the seller). The list of expenses you recently sent me includes things like the roof replacement (recommended in my report on pages 9-10) and replacing baseboard heat that did not work (noted in my report on pages 17-18). Other expenses included in your accounting are: property taxes, new appliances and installation of a radon mitigation system- none of which are the responsibility of the home inspector. Why you did not get pricing for any repairs before closing is baffling to me. You could have backed out of the sale if the repair costs were too great- that is the purpose of a home inspection and particularly important with an "as-is" sale."

Nicole inspected for me recently on an old house I am buying. She was very professional and detailed. She explained the process and presented a slideshow of what she found (good and bad) and answered every question I had. The report was delivered the same day as the inspection. It had detailed explanations and photos. I also had her set up the radon test and the results were needed information. Highly recommend! Thank you Nicole!

Nicole of Home Gnome did an amazing job on our home inspection. She was very detailed in going through the house and finding issues and her inspection report was wonderful and included very detailed descriptions of problems found and included very good pictures to help with descriptions. Even our home builder was impressed with the inspection report! Nicole was punctual, very pleasant to work with and took the necessary time to go through all parts of the house for the inspection including the crawl space, attics and roof. I am recommending her to all our neighbors and will absolutely use her next time we need a home inspection!

Nicole performed an extremely detailed and thorough examination of the house. Investigating all areas both interior and exterior. It is an older house (1940s) so there was a large potential for possible issues. My confidence in my purchase is greatly enhanced after watch Nicole crawl though and inspect every facet of it.
