I haven't used that in years. It was proved to be invaluable. I bought a Prius five years ago and I bought the extended warranty at 93,000 miles. My air conditioning went up from $250 to $500. The warranties were good. It was inconsequential and it was a business deduction. It worked out really good. I called up Home Depot and they gave me the information. I called out the appliance repair and had them coordinate wit my tenants. Two days later, everything was fixed.

They have a lot of stuff. They have decent prices. It's clearly laid out. The people are pretty well-trained. If a person doesn't know the answer, he could find somebody who does.

I like that they are convenient and we kind of adapted our own electrician and plumber there that we go to when we have a question. They are careful people because they never serve us wrong.

Their products seem to hold up. They are easy to get to and have a fair price.

We consulted several cabinet makers and decided to go with Home Depot. We chose Thomasville as the manufacturer. Dorothy Harter made this an easy process and was responsive to all of our subsequent questions until the project was complete. She helped us with the cabinet design, selection of finishes and the selection of the hardware. After the kitchen and baths were roughed in, a rep from Home Depot came and took the measurements. The cabinets arrived early in Portland and were stored in a warehouse until the planned date of delivery arrived ) There were 51 boxes delivered for the kitchen and two bathroms--small and large but you can see that it was a complicated order. When they were delivered to our remodel, our contractor installed them and they look great. We felt the price was very reasonable. We know there are more expensive cabinets out there but we are very happy with the quality and design of the cabinets. We would highly recommend that you consult Dorothy. She can make this a pretty painless for you.

The subcontractor came to look at the passageway and confirm the final measurements for ordering the doors. He did caution that his company did not do painting, and I said that I could do the painting myself. He also provided advice about additional supplies I would need to get before the installation date: caulk to match the tile next to some of the doors, door knobs and locks, and where to look for supplies to construct the customized trim matching other areas of our house. I ordered pre-primed doors and paid the full price at Home Depot when placing the order. Staff there called to let me know that the doors were delayed, but the timing was not that important to me--after all, it had been a two-year search just to find someone who would tackle the job. They called again to let me know that the doors had been cut to the wrong size and would need to be manufactured again. (I was pleased to learn that Home Depot inspects the doors on arrival at their warehouse to make sure they met the original specs.) Again, the delay didn't bother me. Finally the doors were delivered. The installer called to set an appointment for their installation. When we opened the packaging for the doors, though, we found that the doors had not been primed at the factory as we had paid them to do. We tried to get resolution for this during the holidays, and I made several calls to the installer to halt the installation schedule. They did not return my calls. Fortunately, the issue was resolved with Home Depot arranging a rebate with the door manufacturer to cover (slightly more than) the cost of buying the primer. I called the installer again the morning of the scheduled installation, and the installer arrived about 1.5 hours later than the original agreed-upon time. The installer did an excellent job of building up the doorway opening trim, hanging the doors and constructing the trim from the supplies I had obtained. During the installation, he was a little careless with tools, dropping them a couple of times and creating some minor dents in our hardwood floor. Although he did a good job with the door installation, I was not prepared for how much work we homeowners would have to do after the door installation was finished. When the old trim was removed, there were many areas of old caulk, wallboard, re-texturizing, recaulking, etc., to repair. I thought the installer's comments about 'not painting' meant simply that--but they meant also no repair to the wallboard surrounding the doors. For the next week I primed and painted doors. (I'm still working on cleanup to the wallboard areas and caulking near the tile.) Despite the problems toward the end, I would still choose to do this project again. I'm grateful the project finally got done, though next time I would probably contract a finish carpenter to do the cosmetic work around the doors after installation and prior to 'painting'.

I felt like there were a lot of communication disconnects between Home Depot and the subcontractor, and with me. I really liked the PM from Home Depot and the woman from the subcontractor company who did the bid, and my bathroom turned out pretty well, but I wasn't happy with everything that happened during the project.

Carpet arrived in the promise time. Install was promised between 8am and 11 am they arrived at 10 am. The installers didnt speak enough English to communicate to them clearly all my concerns although one did speak some. Overall the install was satisfactory, but after I found a piece of the parquet flooring on the edging in one of the closets splintered, and I had to ask for it to be fixed. I felt like I had to watch the work carefully. There were several dings in the hall walls.

It was very inconvenient. I had to work with two different installation companies- one for blinds and one for shutters. The shutters were installed as promised and are beautiful. The first set of blinds were damaged. The second set of blinds were inadvertently thrown out by home depot staff. The third set of blinds were good, except for one that was too short. The last blind was properly installed on 1/16/06. I had ordered the blinds last summer!

WE REMODELED OUR 20-YEAR-OLD HOUSE IN PORTLAND WHILE WE WERE STILL LIVING IN TEXAS-----I.E., LONG-DISTANCE. DOROTHY HARTER WAS THE INSTALLATION DIRECTOR FOR HOME DEPOT. SHE WAS IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH US BY PHONE AND E-MAIL. SHE TOOK PICTURES OF THE WORK AS IT WAS BEING DONE; SHE UNDERSTANDS VIRTUALLY EVERY ASPECT OF HOME CONSTRUCTION, AND CAUGHT (AND CORRECTED) MISTAKES WE WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN ABOUT. SHE WENT OUT OF HER WAY TO ACCOMODATE CHOICES OF MATERIALS THAT WERE NOT READILY AVAILABLE IN OREGON, THROUGH HOME DEPOT OR ELSEWHERE--SHE MADE SURE WE GOT WHAT WE WANTED (MET SHIPPERS, ARRANGED TRANSPORTATION OR SUPPLIERS, ETC.). WHEN ONE SUB-CONTRACTOR INSTALLED MATERIALS WE DID NOT WANT, AND REFUSED TO CORRECT THE MISTAKE, DOROTHY STEPPED IN AND MADE IT RIGHT: SHE ABSORBED THE COST, AND GOT THE RIGHT MATERIALS INSTALLED. REMODELING LONG-DISTANCE COULD HAVE BEEN A NIGHTMARE, BUT IN FACT IT WAS NOTHING OF THE SORT. DOROTHY MADE SURE WE GOT WHAT WE WANTED AND ALL WAS DONE WELL.

THE SUBCONTRACTING FIRM THAT HOME DEPOT CONTRACTED TO INSTALL OUR CARPETING DID A VERY PROFESSIONAL JOB. THERE ARE NO SEAMS THAT SHOW AND WHEN THE CARPETING UP THE STAIRWAY NEEDED TO BE RE-DONE THEY DID SO WITHOUT HESITATION.

I WOULD SAY IT WAS VERY GOOD, AND I AM VERY SATISFIED. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO IN A GOOD MANNER. I THINK THEIR QUALITY WAS EXCELLENT. THE PEOPLE KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING

I THINK THEYRE VERY GOOD BECAUSE THEY PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO DETAIL. THE MAN WHO CAME TO INSTALL REALLY KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING, AND HE CLEANED UP AFTER HIMSELF.

HOME DEPOT IS CONVENIENT, BUT NOT ALWAYS THE BEST PRICE. THE SILE STONE WAS VERY EXPENSIVE AND COULD HAVE GOTTEN A BETTER PRICE IF I HAD ONLY SHOPPED AROUND!

WHEN I FIRST WENT INTO THE STORE THE SALESPERSON WAS VERY HELPFUL WITH SHOWING ME SAMPLES AND EXPLAINING HOW IT WOULD LOOK DIFFERENTLY IN THE LIGHTING IN MY OWN HOME. THIS PARTICULAR STORE DID NOT HAVE ANY SAMPLES FOR ME TO TAKE HOME, SO I OBTAINED A SAMPLE FROM THE VANCOUVER STORE. I WOULD SUGGEST HAVING A LARGER SELECTION OF SAMPLES IN STOCK WHEN YOU HAVE SALES ON A PARTICULAR BRAND. THANK YOU FOR HAVING THE CARPET READY FOR MY CONTRACTOR TO PICK UP. THAT WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL.

INITIAL WORK WAS COMPLETED ABOUT 6 MONTHS, BUT HAD TO RE-DO WORK DUE TO A LEAK UNDER THE DISHWASHER. THE ORIGINAL INSTALLER DID NOT INSTALL PERGO UNDER THE DISHWASHER. THE WORK ORDER STATED THAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO. ALTHOUGH THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER, THE SETBACK WAS INCONVENIENT.

WE ORDERED PERGO FLOORING AFTER ORDERING A DIFFERENT BRAND. WE ORDERED THE OTHER BRAND FROM HOME DEPOT ON A SPECIAL ORDER. WHEN WE TOLD THEM IT WAS NOT WHAT WAS REPRESENTED BY THEM, THEY TOOK IT BACK AND LET US ORDER NEW STUFF. WHAT A GREAT COMPANY!
