It was good to get it all done from one company, from the design all the way through.  On the design I think I should have gotten more feedback on the positives and negatives of the design I chose.

It went good. We got some free stuff and she was helpful. The delivery and installation was good. It was a good price and we got some good discounts. Communication was over the phone. It's kind of hard to communicate with them over the phone. They could be on time and better customer service when you call - not an automated service.

Now for the nightmare part. Home Depot's manager told us it would take a week to get a tech out to fix it, despite the fact that we had a full warranty on it. So, a week without doing wash, plus our clothes were damp and locked in the machine. Over the course of the week, we spoke with no less than 12 reps (the management team at this branch and the tech team that were contracted out of Atlanta, Georgia) and got a total run-around in which no two people were on the same page about regulations or policies. I can't even go into detail about how completely moronic and nightmarish this was for us. They kept telling us a time they would be there to fix it, and then call and say they were not coming that day, etc. There were millions of ways they interpreted our warranty stipulation, depending on the manager on the phone at that time. A NIGHTMARE YOU DON'T WANT TO GO THROUGH. Finally, a manager relented and just gave us back our money. Finally someone that saved the day. More fiasco ensued before they FINALLY came and picked up their lemon!

Also beware of Whirlpool washers that go into and quot;Door Lockand quot; mode; there are a lot of complaints of these on the internet--just google them!

The location of their store is convenient. The sale of the stove included delivery. They called with reminders about the delivery. Their punctuality was great and the salesperson was fine.

We bought a nozzle for our garden hose. The man who helped us took his time, explained the differences, and demonstrated the one we bought with their hose. We looked at tile, and the woman who helped us knew what she was talking about, and went out of her way to walk to a different part of the huge store to look up an arrival time for the tile we want. We bought light bulbs and were helped by another man who knew everything we needed to know. And we looked at marble counter top material and the woman there also knew everything we needed to know and could show us samples and give us a rough estimate. I wish I remembered these peoples' names because their service was extraordinary. We never had to wait to find help either. However this store is training people, or is being managed or both, it is really working well.

We went to the Home Depot store, next to 217, to inquire about Milgard windows. We are replacing 2 of our old aluminum windows.
The young man at the store was very helpful, giving us prices and warranty info. We had him make an appointment to have someone come out, take measurements and give us a price for installation of the Milgard brand. The person who showed up was a salesman, not an installer, who tried to sell us on a different brand. He had no written information about the other brand, except a JD Powers rating. He didn't even take exact measurements. He said that would be a separate appointment with the installer. He wouldn't give prices, even though we knew exactly what we wanted. Then he informed us the Home Depot DOESN'T INSTALL MILGARD windows ! What a waste of time ! Never buy windows from Home Depot. They will use the hard-sell tactic on their brands and not what you want.

They also did exterior doors in 2011. They had a good lifetime warranty for the windows and doors. The contractor they used did an excellent job. He was very conscientious. I would highly recommend them. I would consider them very good quality and great installation. They also did a real good job with windows to make sure that we didn't have any water and stuffs like that.

Home Depot took a long time to get it right. There was a problem with the install and then they came out and they reset our entire bay window. They started August and was finished last month. It was a long process but in the end we were very pleased. They've always been really good to us and what we wanted. They gave us really good advice as to what kind of windows would really work.

I purchased new kitchen appliances from Home Depot. GE SS (non-profile) a dishwasher, stove, microwave/range hood and refrigerator. My salesman, Jim was the only thing that kept me from returning all the appliances to Home Depot and taking my business elsewhere. The sales experience was pleasant and that was the only pleasant part of my experience. I wish a good man like Jim was not associated with Home Depot or the terrible quality sub-contractor they use to deliver, install and remove appliances. When the delivery people came to deliver my 4 expensive appliances, they refused to remove the old appliances because the archways were "too small". This was told to me by Ryan, I know his name because he left his tape measure behind, not much of a loss to him, he obviously didn't know how to use it. Then the professional appliance installers refused to install the new appliances and left them in the garage for me to deal with. (I am a single woman over 60 and have arthritis in my hips and knees) Even though they could not remove my old stove they did manage to unplug it so I was not able to cook on a stove for two months while I worked this out. When my friend visited, we managed to move the stove and refrigerator out of the doors that the professionals said could not be done. One by one, my friends and family have helped me move in the appliances and install them ourselves. We put in the dishwasher, microwave/range hood combo, stove and as for the fridge, I returned it. It was too much for me to install myself and I just returned it and bought one from Standard TV and Appliance. Their installers had the fridge in and connected to the water in less than 15 minutes. If you are in the market for mid to high end appliances, I definitely recommend the folks at Standard over the big chain stores. If only Home Depot cared how badly their subcontractors reflected upon them. Except for the salesman, no one at Home Depot gave a rip about my terrible experience. I am still renovating my home and will never, ever purchase anything from Home Depot again. Especially any single woman or

I called Home Depot to price a new garbage disposal and installation because my attempts to fix my old one by pushing the reset button, checking power, and trying to turn the thing in the bottom with an allen wrench had failed. Steve gave me the price information I asked for, then checked his references and talked me through a successful do-it-yourself repair. Thank you, Steve!

After being shown several types of windows at the Windows Department at Lowe's, I was considering several brands and was told the estimator would let me know which would be most appropriate for my house. When he came out, he gave me an estimate at least 30% higher than the next highest bid and said they only installed their store brand, which was not highly rated by Consumer's Report. When I called the store to complain, the salesman said it was news to them that they only installed the store brand. Basically, Home Depot wasted at least four hours of my time and gave me a ridiculous bid for lesser rated windows.

Water Heater Service
$500
We made several calls to get the service scheduled through Home Depot and their subcontractor, and had to repeat the same information about our request, address, etc several times. The subcontractor installer arrived late at the end of the day. He immediately told us we needed several other items at an additional cost(a special pan, earthquake straps, etc) in order for him to correctly install it. Never mentioned before to us. Although we indicated that we needed to have the new water heater carried downstairs when arranging for installation, the installer said he was unaware of our request. He said he needed a 2nd plumber to assist him at an additional charge($95), and he would have to come back another day. By the time he left, we calculated that at least $200 would be added to our bill, turning a $289 cost into $489 at a minimum since the amount of time it would take was unknown. We canceled the contract the next morning but were still charged $60 for the first visit.

The refrigerator was installed correctly and I was pleased with it. However, the sales person did not account for the extra space needed to open the front of the washer or dryer or the drawer on the front of the washer for soap, etc. The delivery was done by a 3rd party using a rental truck, the two installers did not know how to use the intercom on the front of the bldg. and so kept calling me to open the front door with their cell phone. When they attempted to install the washer it was apparent to me that the soap drawer and the door to the front of the washer would not open because of space limitations. The installer tried to tell me that if the washer doors opened a little bit it would work, both the installers barely spoke English and I am not sure they even could read English. They left dirty hand prints on my bi-fold doors and pieces of styrofoam in the condo bldg. hallway. I ended up refusing the delivery. An attempt was made to get me to accept the washer/dryer delivery.

We were able to check out a book with samples to view in our home. Lucked out, and got a helpful salesperson when ordering. The blinds were back-ordered, so took about 4 weeks. I think we got good value in terms of the price and quality.

The pricing is misleading since it includes a minimum labor charge, based on the assumption that you will purchase at least 35 sq. yards. Also, the "salespeople" at Home Depot are nearly brain dead, very little product knowledge, so you're pretty much on your own to compare brands and features. Based on their volume of business, though, they do seem to have pretty competitive prices.

THE GUY WHO INSTALLED THE FLOOR WAS THERE ABOUT FOUR TO FIVE HOURS LATER THAN THE ESTIMATED TIME OF INSTALL. THERE WAS ALSO A MISORDER ON THE WALL BORDER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO GO IN. HE HAD TO MAKE SEVERAL TRIPS BACK TO THE STORE TO PICK UP ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES AND BECAUSE THEY FORGOT TO ORDER SOME SUPPLIES, I HAD TO ALSO GO THE STORE AND PICK ADDITIONAL MATERIAL. THEY WOULDN'T JUST GIVE IT TO HIM BECAUSE IT HADN'T BEEN PAID FOR.
