HAULING & YARD WORK

They gave us an estimate on hauling away debri and put in the lawn in our front yard, this was back in 2003. We were very pleased with the estimate, the work they did, the end results and their over all so we had them do the back yard than the back lot. Their over all was great and we like their price so we have had them do our yard ever since.

I hired Karl Lyons (His email name is Karl Brandvold) off Craig's List in July. If only I had known about Angie's List at the time. He said he would come at 2:00 and he didn't. I called, he said he would come at 4:00. They came around 6:30. He and two other guys did the work and ended up working in the dark. Meanwhile a girlfriend or wife was on the job site nervously waiting for him to finish. Unprofessional! I tried to inspect their work but it was dark. He was anxious to leave and I guess I was anxious to get rid of them, so like a fool I paid. I didn't realize that he didn't give me a receipt until after he left, and next day I saw that he had not cut a camellia to my specifications We agreed on 6 feet, but I saw it was still 8 or 9 ft. tall. I called and emailed again and again, asking him to come back, cut the camellia and give me a receipt. Karl is smooth as butter& polite, He promised to fix the problem; he never came. One garden bed abuts my neighbor's freshly re-sided and painted garage; I requested that no weed whacker be used there to avoid damaging garage. Work was completed in the timeframe agreed-upon; workers were friendly & prompt. When work was completed, I did a quick walk through and all looked OK so I paid in full. I then realized that their weed whacker had damaged the neighbor's garage, cutting into paint and gouging the fresh cedar siding. Called Karl, who apologized and promised to come the next day and putty/paint. He didn't show then or the next day; I finally did the repairs myself after calling Karl several times with no response. He called after I'd done the work, making excuses about being busy. No partial refund offered. As I planted the new beds, I realized they didn't dig down the full 6". The new soil is about 2" deep and grass, rock & weed roots still remain. I won't bother calling him to correct based on previous poor response. Very disappointing experience.

The work seemed satisfactory at first but after a couple days of walking on path and a day or two of high winds, we noticed the problems. Contacted Karl numerous times, Karl always puts us off, even though he promises to take care of it. After 5 times of canceling after he SWORE he'd be there, I finally confronted Karl and he because belligerent and rude. He had the nerve to question why I would pay his guys if I didn't like their work. I explained to him it seemed fine at first. Sometimes problems don't arise for sometime. Anyway, then he said ''well I work I'm out of Gresham and YOU live in Hillsboro (about 30 minutes away!!) like he lives on the other side of the planet. I asked why he would take a job if he couldn't get out to it. He reiterated with ''you knew where I lived''. Actually I didn't and wasn't sure why that was an issue. He then said ''i TOLD you to make sure the guys did a good job. It's now my job to supervise them I guess! A rude, confrontational jerk!! Still not do
