Great in some ways, not so great in others. Timely, great communication, great quality work, and price on the entire 1000sf he finished. He even replaced some dryrot wood behind my toilet. However, he refused to do the upstairs because the fir floors had a shellac finish, which is apparently different from the fir floors downstairs. I had to (quite inconveniently) find a different contractor to finish the job. While I respect the choice to walk away from the portion of the job he felt uncomfortable about, I wish I were not put in the position of having to find a different contractor to complete the job.

Brian did a fabulous job refinishing the 80-year-old oak hardwood floors -- upstairs -- in our "new" house.  He worked long hours, did the job by himself, eliminated some prominent scratches and discoloration, and did a good job matching the existing floors downstairs. He used a low environmental impact product for the finishing.  We appreciated Brian's workmanship and affinity for wood, and at the end of the refinishing job, we consulted him about the interior of our rather worn front door.  Brian said he thought it would be an easy fix, then lightly sanded and stained it to our satisfaction (and at no charge).  Our confidence in him was such that we gave him the keys to the place and he worked on his own.  Oh, and his bid was competitive, based on the three contractors that we interviewed.

Although we don't know the cost of the project since it was subcontracted, we can say without hesitation that Brian did an amazing job. He gave us advice on whether to stay with the color of the wood or stain (we stayed with the original color), what kind of finish to put on the wood and the care of the hardwood floors. We couldn't be happier with his work and recommend him highly.

It went well. the floor looks beautiful with the finish. Brian recommened a newer product for the clear coat to help bring out the depth of the wood and it looks great.

It went great. Brian was very professional and a hard worker. He also got us a great deal on the raw materials (beautiful Ash flooring). Project was done on schedule and on budget. I highly recommend. We are having Brian back to do the sand/polish in a couple weeks.

Brian's love of wood and woodwork was obvious as soon as he walked in the door--the first good sign--this man cares about his product. He asked the right questions that provided guidance in making choices about the end result. He finished the services within the agreed time frame, and did a beautiful job of it. There were spots where the floor was badly damaged due to moving of heavy furniture that did not have sufficient protection, and those blemishes all but disappeared. Brian is environmentally conscious when discussing stains and finishes. He is very low-key and agreeable. I was pleasantly surprised as to how well he kept us informed of his progress with the work. This work was performed to put a home on the market, so the property was completely empty. I was impressed with the quality and care that he put into the work--our realtor, who has seen many homes and refinished floors, asked for his business card for future referrals, so I'd say he's a keeper!
