My father had an accident in Jan 2006 that resulted in a severe brain injury. After the nursing home he went to Harvest Homes for long term. He was there until he died Oct 2008. He had a large room of his own. He got meds assistance, meals in the dining room, laundry, housecleaning, help getting ready for appointments, help with personal hygiene, and help dialing the phone and getting dressed when he forgot how. They have seasonal parties, 1-2 field trips a month, and shopping trips once a week. The activities director, Sheila, is constantly coming up with new ways to keep life interesting. I hated the food but my father liked it. It's a very homey place and everybody there seemed to really care about my father and watch out for his best interest. The grounds are peaceful and pleasant. My father was a jazz musician, and Harvest Homes even has a house band! It's by far the best place we looked at.
