Very well. All it takes to get along with me is honesty and doing your job well, meeting all expressed expectations. Steve is capable, very reliable, honest, and met all expectations. I am particular about doing things right... and he did that. The house was sold as "turnkey".. .and the buyer is still happy with the house. (I checked back with her in the last month... about 15 months after she bought the house.) Steve is also a nice guy and very straightforward.

Steve was very easy to work with. Professional, on time everyday and great with communication. His attention to detail is beyond compare. Even when issues arose, such as the wrong tile being ordered on our part, he didn’t miss a beat. I work from home and hardly noticed he was there. I appreciated that he stuck to my job from beginning to end without running to and from other jobs. From day one to completion he was there 5 days a week. I will be hiring Steve again for future jobs.

We're so happy we found Steve to remodel our master bath. His prices are fair, but more important is the quality of his work. He takes real pride in his work and is not satisfied until everything is perfect. He is an absolute master when it comes to tile work. And he's a great guy, very easy to work with (who didn't mind that our cats got in the way occasionally!). We would definitely hire him again.

We love our new bathroom. We're very happy with the whole process and the final outcome. Steve has excellent work ethics, punctually showing up when he said he will. Great diligence, following the best in remodeling practices. Lots of integrity. He regularly communicated progress and schedule. He did the work himself - working with a single person made it so much easier.

Steve is as good as it gets! Meticulous work, dependable, reasonable on cost, and a really nice guy to boot! What's not to like? We will always call Steve for future remodel or repair projects.

Bruce came and provided me a bid, which some other providers would not do. Gave us a fair bid and the next week he was in and completed the work. very nice and very easy to deal with. Would hire him again and would recommend to our friends.

Steve is really wonderful. He clearly takes pride in doing quality work, and I was thrilled to bits with the work he did. He really listened to the details of how I wanted things done, which makes a big difference. All the things that had been driving me crazy in the house were fixed. The day that Steve came to work on my house was the day I started to feel as though my new house was actually my new home.
On top of all of this, he is the nicest guy you could possibly imagine. Steve is terrific, and I will definitely be calling him again when I need more work done.

This is the second project we have used Steve to complete. We could not recommend him any more highly. His work is precise, impeccable and perfectly executed. If you have a project that you want to be done perfectly, you absolutely must ask Steve if he is available to complete it. You will be extremely happy with your finished product.

I had a 40+ year old master bath that needed a complete remodel. After soliciting bids from several general contractors, I selected Steve, believing that he was someone I could work with and would end up with a bath that met my expectations, not a timetable of a general contractor. I also wanted to work with one person for the entire project, not a group of sub contractors that I did not know and would never see again.  From our first conversation, I believed Steve was someone who was very skilled and knowledgeable and would work collaboratively with me. I was right. My finished master bath is spectacular! It is rare to undertake a project and have absolutely nothing go wrong, nothing end up "less than perfect". Steve will not complete your "bath in a week", and that is a good thing. If you select Steve, you will end up with a finished project that will not only meet, but exceed your expectations. I could not recommend any contractor more highly than I do Steve.

Steve is very accomodating, pays attention to detail, and does a great job.

l had called three contractors and left messages describing my small project ,"to replace my sink and hopefully preserve the original tile wall---or replace one small wall that is lathe and plaster. (behind the tile)"  With the busy season for remodelers, I only had two contractors who even called me back--both had major time conflicts and so I called Steve. He returned my call the same day; offered to come over in an hour to see if it could be done that same day.  Upon seeing the sink, he was optimistic it could be detached and would show me the tiled wall to determine whether to proceed with replacing the sink.  He was able to remove it quickly and the tile was in good shape so he proceeded to install the new sink.  The old sink drain, however, was 1/2 inch wider and two inches longer than standard, so the parts didn't fit.  Steve offered to get new pipe cut and an adapter to fix the problem.  He returned the next working day and finished the job; even grouted small holes left from the old sink.  
Steve worked carefully, efficiently, and cleaned up afterward.  His work was excellent.  I couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience.

We contacted Steve because of reviews on Angies list.  Steve responded better than the other contractors contacted.  He was personable and seemed competent.  We scheduled our work for several weeks later and Steve showed up right on schedule.  He did the demolition and was very clean about it.  He prepared the materials and discussed the design details with us as the work progressed.  Several design adjustments were made and Steve was OK with changes 'on the fly'.  His work is meticulous and he is a model worker.  He puts in a full day.  I seldom check the "A" boxes for all categories but Steve's performance as a contractor stands out from all my previous experiences.  If you want a good job done,  "Have Steve do it!"

Steve Gronholm did an exceptional job remodeling an older house we recently purchased.  Steve's craftsmanship and attention to detail is only surpassed by his professionalism, reliability, gentle demeanor and character.  He went above and beyond several times for us during the entire remodel, remaining patient and kind with us through a very stressful project.  We could not be more pleased with the end results and would not only hire Steve for any future jobs, but would recommend him highly to anybody.

It went well!  I made a lot of changes from the initial bid and Steve was flexible and accommodating.  He installed the shower pebble floor and made sure to see what level of exposure I wanted for the stones.  He installed beautiful pebble tile as base and as an accent in the shower which required much detail  The heated floor was installed using sliced stones which turned out great. There was alot of communication which I really appreciated and the result turned out really, and I mean really nice.  He took his time and did not assume when there were options to consider.  He asked what I would like.

Steve is the best contractor that I have worked with, and this being the last room being remodeled in a 40's house, says a lot, for there have been many others before him over the years.

I'd give them an A. I would use them in the future.

Remodeling a kitchen in the middle of winter could have been a nightmare.  It was not a nightmare at all. The work went quickly and was done well.  The tile flooring work Steve did was absolutely flawless.  
 Steve cleaned up each evening before leaving, was always courteous, punctual and communicated well. We were concerned about all the activity while we were away during the day and how it would impact our very, very old dog.  No problem. Steve and she were pals in no time.  
Our overall review of the experience: outstanding.

Steve's attention to detail was welcome after a bad experience with another contractor. The quality of his craftsmanship is outstanding. The new partial wall at the end of the tub is plumb and square and the tile is beautifully. executed. Steve shows up on time and he does what he says he is going to do.
Steve is skilled in many areas and does all the work himself. I would hire him again in a minute.

Everything went just fine today and we are happy with the outcome!

This is the third time working with Steve and it will not be the last. We had him work on various house projects and have always been happy with his professionalism and dedication to quality. This project involved picking up custom baseboard from McCoys ( great place to get custom trim and wood work), staining the baseboard and installing in 3 rooms, a hall and a stair landing. Trimming the base and sides of various doors so they would close better and trimming sticky cabinet doors.

Steve did a great job.  He worked quickly and independently and communicated any concerns or issues.  We liked him so well that we did not hesitate to call him back a month later for another job.

We had hardwood floors installed which necessitate removal of the downstairs toilet. The installer wasn't bonded to replace the toilet. We call Steve, who was gracious enough to visit us on a Sunday to reinstall the toilet.
Steve has done other work for us over the years, installed recessed lighting in our family room and kitchen, remodeled an area of cabinetry to receive a stove (we had an inset stove prior, so this was a considerable amount of work), installed a microwave above the new stove.  He is a great guy, very responsive and peasant to have around. His prices are very reasonable.

The job was a very small one, hanging a few sheets of drywall and wonder board.  I had gotten behind on the Master Project Schedule and needed to bring someone it to help me catch up.
Other neighbors had raved about Steve and how well he handles all projects.  True to form, Steve came in and got the project on track.  This was not an easy task as their were many cut outs to measure accurately.  Once he made the final cut, I was amazed his cut outs were perfect!!
He got a great manner about him and very approachable.  The fact that he was punctual scored big points.
