THE STAFF WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, WITH OUR MAIN SALESPERSON ALSO DOING HOME THEATER/SOUND SYSTEM INSTALLATIONS. THEY WERE EAGER TO HELP US GET THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT AND EXPLAIN DETAILED INSTALLATION QUESTIONS.

ORIGINALLY, GOOD GUYS REFUSED TO TAKE THE UNIT BACK AND SAID WE NEEDED TO WORK WITH THE FACTORY. I SPENT A LOT OF TIME WORKING WITH SONY TO MANAGE THE REPAIR TRANSACTION, BUT WE ESCALATED THE ISSUE UP THE MANAGEMENT CHAIN AT GOOD GUYS AND THEY EVENTUALLY TOOK THE DEFECTIVE UNIT BACK AND SWAPPED IT FOR A GOOD ONE IN THEIR INVENTORY, WHICH IS NOT THEIR POLICY BUT THEY MADE AN EXCEPTION IN THIS CASE, SO I'M RATING THEM BASED ON HOW THEY 'REDEEMED' THEMSELVES IN THE END WITH FLEXIBLE AND EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE.

THE EXPERIENCE PRIOR TO AND AT PURCHASE WAS GOOD. THE SALESMAN WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL. THEIR SERVICE AFTER THE SALE IS NOT ALWAYS AS GOOD AS PRIOR TO THE SALE.
