Golden Hardwood Floors

Lee refinished the original hardwood floors of our 60's ranch. We had just purchased the home and the floors were beyond thrashed. Discolored, pet stains, scratches and gauges, had not been refinished in a very long time (ever?). We were given a very reasonable rate and with a tight deadline after closing and before move in he was able to work with us and fit us in his schedule. He spent extra time fixing a prior patch job properly and during the estimate was honest in recommending that we not add additional hardwood like we wanted. I appreciated his honest opinion and it was the right choice, other companies agreed to adding more wood without a single question as to if it was the best for our space. Our floors came out beautifully. They look like a completely different floor and I love them. Lee was very thoughtful and put a lot of care into doing everything just right. Would definitely recommend and use them again to maintain in the future.

They were very timely. They were there when they said they would be and got things done on time. I was very pleased. They covered things up with plastic and everything looks very nice. They were recommended by someone who had used them extensively. I thought they had a very fair price.

They did a very quick and good job.

This was not a happy experience. The first visit resulted in a sloppy refinishing job, with many flaws (dust in the finish, unevenly sanded areas, areas left unfinished). The contractor responded immediately, assuring us that these issues would be easily rectified with spot attention. We moved our furniture back in, marking the areas that required attention and leaving them accessible. The second visit left matters even worse than the first. The "repairs" were made with a matte finish that did not match the finish of the original job. Additional flaws appeared. The contractor again responded immediately, assuring us that this was easily remedied. When the contractor met with us again, it was decided that the floor should be re-buffed and refinished, this time with a bit more finish (to cover areas that were basically irreparable). We moved all our furniture out again. This attempt is not perfect, but it is clearly as good as we can get from this contractor. I just try not to look.

The floors looked good. However, they were an hour late coming for the estimate and had to be called for a reminder.

Competitively priced, excellent patch work and finish, timely, and professional.

Overall, the experience was good. The floors look great. They found some damaged wood in one room due to what we thought were termites and suggested we have it checked out before proceeding. It turned out it was just a few carpenter ants. When I called back to schedule doing that one room, they said they "it's not worth it for us to come out for just one room." That was not only EXTREMELY surprising, as it was their suggestion to hold off, but very disappointing as I now have to find someone to do just one room! But, we are happy with the rest of the room (entry, living,dining, hall and bedroom)
