Great - George does beautiful work, we are totally satisfied with what he built for us and are having him bid a few other projects in our home at current. He took time to look at all the other built ins in the house and designed the pieces to be totally congruent with the house's original craftsman look.

He is absolutely fabulous. I think it was about $9000. Whatever it was, it was right on the quote that he gave me. Some of the people that I had out to look were reluctant to shift responsibility with me because who knows what kind of work I do and I can understand that. He had worked with a friend of mine and worked well with them so I decided to give it a shot. He was just great to work with. He gave me some pointers along the way. He was just very good about working with other people. He recommended an electrician and I used his electrician and I used my plumber. He was on time with things and he's really an excellent woodworker. He was great. If I had another kitchen, I would certainly ask him to do it. I get comments about his work from people who come in. He's a good craftsman. The price was probably average. He's not inexpensive but I think that I got what I paid for. It's not a deal but it's high quality work. I would recommend him to others.

George was a pleasure to work with. He was very punctual and completed the job in a timely fashion. He had great design insights and was very accommodating in working off of and improving the design ideas we provided to him. George worked through a unique installation situation (uneven floor in basement) and it turned out great. The quality of the cabinetry is amazing, and the finished product exceeded our expectations. Don't underestimate the importance of having a true craftsman like George design and build your cabinetry - especially if you live in one of Portland's many great older neighborhoods and want to maintain period-correct details and quality craftsmanship. We also found George to be very reasonable price-wise.

George was quick to respond to my initial inquiry for cabinet work. He was curteous, quick to return messages and easy to coordinate with my schedule for initial measuring, quote for job and actual job work. He had to build a cabinet to fit a zubzero fridge and coordinate with existing cabinets and trim. He came twice, once to demo an existing above-fridge-cabinet and then to come and install and finish the new cabinet for the subzero. He was extremely clean in his work from start to finish with no disruption to the rest of the household. He communicated well during the entire process to let us know the time-line for work and he finished within the range he gave us with no delays. The cabinet he built is great quality, looks seamless with the exisiting cabinets and was built perfectly to spec for the subzero fridge. We had absolutley no problem installing the fridge in the cabinet due to accuracy of his measurements and final build. George did a wonderful job, was extremely easy to work with and we would have him back to do all of our custom woodwork.

George was great. He built and installed a custom cabinet in our bathroom with is very small and short on storage. The cabinet is exactly what we were looking for.

He came back and did this small job for me, though it wasn’t his error and it was just an additional thing I needed. He did it for no extra charge. He is very good.

He did a fine job. He was prompt, professional, and skilled. His services are expensive, but I was very happy with the quality of the workmanship.

It turned out great! As usual, George did a wonderful job and all looks exactly as we imagined! We feel like we are in a fancy hotel room! In the end, because the job took less time than he anticipated....he cut off some of the original bid.....he is a good , honest guy!

I looked up George's name on Angieslist, then called for an appt; he was flexible about meeting me, assessing if he could fix it at all, then promptly letting me know whenit was finished. I was very satisfied with the repair, which I can't locate visually myself, although he could see it!

We contacted George on the strength of his Angie's List listing and his web site. The course of the work was as follows: 1) Preliminary visit to communicate our intentions and budget, discuss design ideas. 2) George returned with designs and a budget in a few days. 3) We met to revise design and to trim the budget. It was at this point that we decided to do the finish work ourselves to save money - which ended up being more work than we thought, but was probably worth it. We committed to the project and paid for the materials at this point. 4) E-mails and phone calls re: design issues. 5) George visited again in a few days to take detailed measurements and further discuss design details. 6) Three on-site days for the installation. We are delighted with the bookcases. They are very elegant, deceptively simple-looking, and a perfect fit for both our condo and for the items we are putting in them. Painting them ourselves gave us a better appreciation of the quality of what George did. George is a very personable guy, a talented designer and very professional. One major concern we have had with tradesmen in the past is timeliness of their work, but George was very prompt, and kept not only to the dollar budget we agreed on but to the pretty quick schedule we agreed on from the first. Much of the fabrication was done off-site, but he had to disassemble the units and reassemble them in order to get them up to our second-floor unit. The work on-site was speedy, with minimal disruption to us, and not much construction mess or fuss. Both George and his helper (Shay? Shane? Che?) were courteous, neat, and conscientious workers. This was a very professional job from start to finish. George did a great job accommodating our design requirements, the irregularities of the construction in our condo (oddly angled walls, radiused interior corners, uneven floor-to-ceiling heights, etc.), as well our schedule and tight budget. George handled installation details and problems quickly and efficiently, keeping us informed so there were no surprises. We are delighted with these pieces, and would recommend George Ramos Woodworking to anyone.

Excellent. This was painstaking work. The demolition was a slow process because we were not sure what was underneath. George was very careful so as to limit damage to the adjacent walls. The new wooden mantle and panelled surround he created evolved over several discussions about what was typical of the period and what was feasible given that the gas fireplace was set and we did not want to move it. George's attention to detail was amazing, and he checked in frequently so we were both in agreement as the project progressed.

The success of the project exceeded our expectations, in that the quality of the work was not only outstanding, but George managed to complete the project ahead of schedule. George is an artist working in wood, and is a pleasure to do business with because he is very responsive to suggestions and checks several times with his clients to make sure that they are getting exactly what they desire. In addition, George is very personable and makes the entire experience fun.

We called George because we wanted to recreate a period specific set of built-ins for our home as our originals were long missing. George was very knowledgeable and arrived promptly to look at our space, discuss options, and provide an estimate for the custom work to be done. George completed most of the work onsite and was always on time, professional, friendly and tidy. The collonade he built us is amazing and the work and detail surpassed our expectations. We will be calling George again for future custom projects.
