Rude sales people and terrible prices. I could have ordered a replacement thermocoupler for my hot water heater online for $37.00, but i didn't want to wait another week for hot water. GMP had it but they charged $87.00! Their sales model is "Those in need, must bleed." I would never go here unless extremely desperate.

Had to replace a very old gas water heater with a new one - GM's dispatcher was really helpful and asked enough questions to identify a couple possible issues with the area where the heater is in our basement so that the plumber could come prepared with a pump and the right materials. And then the plumber was super helpful, quick, and personable. Would definitely use again.

If it weren't for the plumber's positive attitude and willingness to work around a house-vac that was slightly in the way this would have been one star. After hearing all the radio commercials, I decided to give George Morlan a try. After comparing several local plumbers, George Morlan was the only company that had availability to replace a failed water heater within a few days; everyone else was a week or more out. I was quoted $1,008 for a 6 year water heater including install and permit. They provided a Reliance brand "budget" water heater that can be purchased for $400 locally. Additionally, the permit they pull (Oregon Minor Label program) costs only $14, but I was charged $39. In all, the labor ended up being over $500 for 40 minutes worth of work. Considering I asked them to quote replacing both of my water heaters and they were only willing to offer a $50 discount for two at once, I'm very happy I decided to replace only one. I absolutely will not be back for my second water heater which will also need replacement shortly.

Supposed unusual installation stumped the installer. Took several visits. Wasn't really that hard.

It was very sub par and no body cared. He did not mate the new water heater correctly and the basement flooded. He then sneaked out without saying anything about it. We had to wade through water to shut off the water. I called the main office and asked to speak with a manager and was told that she would not speak with me because she was afraid that I would yell at her. No one at George Morland cares. I had another company out yesterday to do some maintenance on my water heater and he found that it was never even installed properly.

They were good it only took them a day to get it installed. I just remembered it being good and would certainly use them again.  The person that did the service did not give me the creeps and nothing bad happened.

They came out quickly and did a beautiful job. I called them with the problem. They said that they would get here as soon as they can. The owner, George Morlan was very apologetic. He said that he wanted to come out immediately, but they had two jobs ahead of us. He did not have to apologize for us having to wait. We knew it would be done properly, and it was according to code. We were very pleased.

Delayed many weeks because the heater was not in stock. They told us that it was when we ordered the waterheater.

Work was done four years ago and seemed fine. Now, four years later, while having the gas chimney duct replaced, I learn that the HVAC work was 'kludged'. A T connector was installed backward, then connected incorrectly to the outgoing chimney pipe. Now my current HVAC contractor is tearing his hair out trying to figure out how to fix this without installing all new ducts (which may happen anyway). This poor work by GM installers is now costing me several hundred dollars four years later.

Removed and replaced the 31 year old Solar Assist Water Heater with a new Reliance 12 year Electric Water Heater.  The plumber Chuck, did a great job, as the removal of the old system was fairly elaborate. The cold water valve pipe leaked after the new water heater was installed, so rather than just try to re-solder it,  he replaced the section inc a new valve.  Very professional work, and prompt service. The new water heater has a digital read out and is guaranteed for 1 year parts/labor. Very happy with the work.

Initially contacted GM in August and described scope of work, upon hearing that a new vent for the power vent would be needed I was told it would take a $99 Service Call to give an estimate, no actual work, just an estimate.  In October I went to their NW Showroom, was pointed to a power vent hot water heater and was given a quote of $1500 and change.
I called several days later to confirm what was told to me and book a time.  The scheduler asked very specific questions, length of new venting, location, number of elbows required etc.  I've done quite a bit of research on it so was prepared and answered all questions, reinforcing that a new PVC vent run needed to be installed and it would be a very short distance.  They scheduler quoted me the exact same price as the store and set a date.
Installer called ahead he was coming, and arrived on time.  He informed me that both people had been wrong and it would be an additional $400.  Either incompetence or bait-and-switch tactic by George Morlan.  We had an orphaned hot water heater that needed to be replaced so we had the work done.  As far as I can see it is done okay, they did not seal around the pipe exiting the building, and it's clearly drilled larger than needed, so may need a touch up.
