One was a few years ago. I had purchased a computer with a very expensive warranty. The computers hardrive went out so I called and brought it in. They took it for a few days and told me it was the programming and not covered. I called the programming company many many times (5+ hours on the phone) trying to resolve the issue. They kept telling me it was the harddrive. I took it back to best buy and they said it was the programming again. So I called the programming people an paid money to talk. They said it was definitely the hard drive. I brought it back to best buy and they told me it was the programming..... Finally I just bought a new hard drive and installed it myself. Rebooted the system and it worked great again. Best Buy must have incompetient employees. I would suggest not purchasing there warranty. A couple week ago I brought another computer I had on warranty that I bought 6 months ago in. They no longer sold the computer, but said they would replace it with the next closest thing. They ended up taking away the origional discount I received when I bougtht the first one, charged me even more for the new computer and $100 for data back up and then I had to bring it back because they didnt tell me I also needed a wireless card and had to buy one of those. I ended up leaving with $400 extra spent that wasnt on my warranty. The companies too big to help their customers.

Our computer was very eratic and slow. Geek Squad came out, serviced it, and left. I have no idea which office the repair service person was sent from...since their phone is an 800 number and the tech support is sent from the "closest" area. The first week the computer ran fine. The second week the same problems I had experienced before showed up again. I called Geek Squad. Went through 3 people before speaking with a "supervisor". She first tried to tell me that this must be a virus I probably picked up on Facebook. Then, she told me that unless the problem was exactly what had been worked on, it would not be covered and I would need to pay another service visit charge ($129.) Two weeks was the best they could do for an appointment, On the day of the appointment I tried five times to confirm that they were coming and each time the ONLY phone this company has for the consumer puts you on hold for 15-25 minutes automatically "disconecting" before it was answered. I gave up. Half an hour before the end of the 4 hour time frame I received a cancellation from N.Y. I am in Oregon. I explained that I had taken the day from work and could not take another day off. 18 minutes on hold and I was told that someone would be calling me from the Regional office. I asked for their Customer Service number...I was told they could not give it out. I asked for their Headquarters Office address. I was told they could not give out that information. I was finally transferred to the Customer Relations office where again, I explained the siutation, was put on hold for another 15 minutes and told the exact same thing: that the Regional Manager would be calling. He/She never did. I have paid $169.98 the computer is not fixed, the appointment not kept, I will not be paid for the day I had to take off, and there is no phone number to complain to!

They told me it would 2-3 weeks before they would be out. There was an appointment set for 1pm and I received an automated message the morning the appointment was scheduled for that they would not be able to make it.

When they got a hold of it, they completely destroyed it. They are horrible. I would never work with any Geek Squad because they have a conflict of interest because they are associated with another company. It is to their advantage to junk your computer so you can buy another one. That is all they are trying to do. They are always trying to push product, they aren t helping people. There is no such thing as repair and they just want to sell you another product.

The guy was really great overall. I just feel that he was a little pricey though. I think it would have been cheaper to call someone else. He did come out and was very helpful I even had problems afterward and when I called him, he walked me through all the steps I needed to do right over the phone. Another thing about them is their outfits, I just love them; they are so cute.

For the ice machine problem they sent a very unprofessional messy looking guy in dirty jeans and a dirty t-shirt with his work shirt hanging open. He didn't have a clue. He said he could guess that it might be the auger and ordered that. After he replaced that part it still did the exact same thing. Clueless...The technician they sent when all the food was going bad was a little better. He diagnosed the problem and after we had told him about all the other problems we were having with the refrigerator he suggested to the company that it needed to be replaced, which is what happened. The new refrigerator works great!!! Best Buy in general is a pain to work with for repairs. They never call you back and they try to get out of doing anything for you. They never call you back.
