If I could give this business 0 stars I would. We hired Frank from
Franklin Maddox Painting to come and paint our kitchen cabinets. The
paint job is the quality of your less than average home DIY-er, not what
you would expect a professional to do! He asked for 1/2 of the cost up
front as a deposit, and the balance when the job was completed. As the
job progressed, we expressed our concern about both the paint color and
quality, he agreed with our concerns, and gave a solution for
correcting the problem. He asked for the entire balance paid prior to
coming back to finish. We were not comfortable paying him prior to the
job being completed in full. He gave us a story about needing the
money, and so we reluctantly paid him 1/2 of the balance due with the
agreement that he would come back and finish and would receive the
balance when the job was due. At the time he seemed honest, and would
honor his word. He explained he needed to wait a week for the paint to
"set in". Okay, a week goes by, the day before he is supposed to come
back, he text messages my husband (doesn't call) to say he isn't coming
back because of a comment my husband apparently made about not wanting
to pay the balance in full because of "being burned by contractors".
Well, this makes a lot sense, he isn't going to come back because a
comment made about being burned by contractors, isn't that what he is
doing???!!!! He won't return any phone calls, but text messages weird,
ambigious messages. He conveniently cashed our checks for 75% of the
balance of the job, and in order for the job to look even somewhat
presentable we will have to hire another contractor and start from the
beginning. Save yourself the headache and loss of $$$ and go with a
reputable, honest painter. We are currently pursuing other methods to
get our money back, but others need to be warned. His business license #
is 122678.

Frank Maddox and his son Issac came to give me a bid on painting my kitchen cupboards. I didn't need to replace the cupboards but they were chipped and stained. The bid was explained and they let me know what to expect, time wise. They showed up promptly every morning with smiles, ready to work. They put tarps on the floor and counters and plastic over things that could get paint on them. Frank gave me several samples of colors to choose from. He was very patient with my pickiness. He actually blended some colors and worked hard to get the color that I really liked. I felt 100% comfortable having them alone in my home. My kitchen looks new again, and they even cleaned up when they were done.
