FENCESCAPES

This is the second time that I've hired Fencescapes and would highly recommend them if you need a quality cedar fence. We wanted something with a bit of decorative interest at the top, which Paul was able to accommodate. They are usually booked pretty far out, but well worth the wait. The material and workmanship quality is unmatched at their price. Thanks again Paul!

As usual Paul did an outstanding job. This is the third fencing project he has done Gormley us. Would definitely use him in the future.

It went very well.  Paul came when he said he would and got the job done in the projected amount of time.  He had built another fence for us a few years ago which we are very happy with, and he even replaced some boards on that fence which had been damaged over time.  I would recommend Paul and his company highly if you want a quality fence built for a reasonable amount of money.

Due to Paul's popularity, starting the project took quite a while. But once begun, work progressed quickly. We discussed details each day relevant to the fence design as I preferred to have a hands on approach to the decisions. Paul was great at listening and providing feedback from a professional standpoint on both what is possible from a wood worker perspective and what looks good.

The job site was cleaned up effectively and he even proactively picked up my dog's poop in the yard before I could get to it most mornings.

At the end, his attention to detail and fit and finish were excellent. I would highly recommend Fencescapes for any job.

rtlandGave me a quote for replacing an old fence - had to schedule for 2 months later as he is so busy.  He built a beautiful fence, removed all the damaged wood from the old fence, I will call him again for next fence or arbor I want to be done.  He was great!

We got three bids for this job and chose Paul because of his quick response when we called and kind manner, and we liked the pictures on his website. His bid was in the middle in terms of price. We had to wait several weeks for the job to be done because of his waiting list but it was worth the wait. Everything went very well. As his worker was on vacation, Paul did all of the work by himself. It was hard work. It took him a week. We are extremely happy with our beautiful and sturdy fence.

It went great. He did a gresat job and was veru nice and professional. Sorry I can't give more detail, it was over a year ago and I can't recall any details from that far back.

We use him once a year to build fence for the garden feature. He always does beautiful work . Its always done well. This time he did an extra ordinary thing for us. He does outstanding work. All that he does is excellent.

I had to wait for a while but Paul was upfront about his schedule.  Paul finished in the time he indicated he would, he cleaned up and was respectful of my property. My neighbors commented on how quickly he worked and I was pleased with his overall quality.

Went very well. Owner and helper finished the job in two days. Very good quality of work, the only thing I didn't like was putting the latch on the outside of the gate. With that location, even if locked the gate can be easily opened with a screwdriver and a few minutes. I moved it inside like it had been on the old gate.

Paul was on time, worked very efficiently AND carefully to do a terrific job.  I'm a fussy person and he gets an A+

Every aspect of the project, from design through completion, went great.  Paul is very easy to work with and is highly skilled.  He made key suggestions to improve my design of the top.  He listened to and heeded all of my wishes and expectations.  He worked diligently, had much more respect for my landscaping than the typical contractor, and caught and corrected the only mistake he made in the project with aplomb and with no proding by me.  Paul is the dream contractor.

Paul did a fantastic job! The fence looks exactly the way we wanted. The fit and finish is great! He is very solidly booked up and was sometimes hard to get ahold of, but once we had it scheduled, he was there exactly on time and had it all done in four days. The final cost came in exactly as estimated. We're very happy with our fence and would absolutely hire Paul again in the future.

Paul came out for an estimate promptly. His bid was comparable to two others I received but I liked how he asked questions to clarify my requirements and make suggestions on product and appearance. If you call about a fence in April, be prepared to wait in line. Paul was close to the initial estimate of early June. He and a helper completed the 34' x 7' cedar fence in 2 days. In addition they replaced an adjoining gate and short side fence and repaired some rotted areas in the arbor. I'm very happy with his work and responsiveness. I paid extra to have the holly hedge behind the fence pruned and hauled away. Since there was less pruning than anticipated Paul reduced the charge. My only complaint was having to rake up some holly branches left behind.

Finished the job in a single day, fence has held up just fine.

Went great.  On time.

I called and left a message for Paul in July of 2013 about replacing two rotted posts that supported an arch. Paul called me back within 30 minutes. He completed the work along with his helper in September 2013. The posts had been put in okay, but just after I had paid him and he had gone, I noticed that the fence and gate he reattached to the posts had some problems and damage. When I talked to Paul about these issues, he agreed to fix the problems and damage. He told me to call him in January, because that was his slow time. I called once a week for four weeks in the month of January. I received no call backs to any of my four messages. I am surprised and disappointed to the non-responses I received from Paul. I cannot recommend a company who's owner does not keep his word by doing what he says he will do and at the very least communicate by returning his messages.

I am ashamed that it has taken me so long to write this review; but every time I look out my kitchen window, the sight of the exceptionally beautiful cedar fence that Paul and his colleague (whose name I have shamefully forgotten) built makes me smile, and reminds me that I should have written this much earlier. Their work has done more to improve the exterior of our property than any other work that we have had done.
From the moment we met Paul and he provided us with a very reasonable estimate of the cost of his work, we knew that we would hire him. He is, quite simply, a supremely decent man - interesting, intelligent, honest, unflappable, and extremely accomplished in his chosen work. We felt such confidence from his pleasing, open, and accommodating manner that we hired him without taking any further bids, something we would normally never do. Our instincts were not wrong.
Paul and his colleague showed up punctually each day of their work, and was unfazed and obliging when I decided to alter the design of the fence after the work had begun, due to a misunderstanding of fencing terms on my part. They worked quickly and efficiently, and the work took less time than we had thought it would. They were so unfailingly pleasant to have around, that we actually missed them when they finished the work and moved on to their next project. One neighbor, with whom we share a part of the fence, liked the results so much that she called Paul and asked him to extend the fence along an additional portion of her backyard. Other neighbors we share a property line with were ecstatic when they saw the new fence. The old fence, which another neighbor had installed years before we bought our house, was a mess of paint-splattered, broken down, poorly installed, loose scrap boards. We now have a gorgeous, properly installed, extremely solid, prettily-capped, golden-colored cedar fence, which we still receive constant compliments on. The only problem is that our house itself now looks shabby in comparison. If only Paul would branch out into house painting.....

Paul was a pleasure to work with. He did what he said he would do. Job was delayed by one day but I would expect so given they were working in torrential rain. Very pleased with the result

Paul and his assistant did a so-so job. He came out and did the estimate in the fall, and seemed like a pleasant, straightforward guy. I decided to move forward on the project and scheduling it was simple and communication was clear.
They built two horizontal fences, one with an arbor, and  both with gates. They seem well constructed, and he listened to what I wanted and made suggestions based on his experience when appropriate.
I have updated this review though because once spring came and I was in the yard more, I realized they had done a really bad job of  clearing up the project. The large pile of "dirt" they had left in the garden bed was largely concrete rubble (clearing up the job was part of the bid, so this left me with a mess to deal with), and they positioned at eye level of the main gate post the dark manufacturing printing  on the wood, a bit of an eyesore.
