This was the 3rd time I've arranged for arborist services through Emerald Tree. I've been completely happy with the work and cost each time.

We have used Emerald Tree three times now to address tree issues in our yard. This most recent experience was no different than the others. We love Emerald Tree! Their prices are very reasonable (their bid was half that of one of their competitors) and they are willing to work with the homeowner to do the work the way you want it. For example, for our most recent job, they piled small limbs onsite because we wanted to use them to create bird habitat piles. They also left one of the three trees we had cut as a tall standing snag for additional habitat benefits. Our yard is certified Backyard Bird Habitat through Portland Audubon Society, so we appreciated their willingness to work within our needs. Finally, they bucked the larger wood to length so we could use it for firewood. We continue to be impressed by Emerald Tree!

We used this company a few years back for about 2 years, after a limb fell out of an old oak. We wanted to be sure the tree was healthy and safe. 2 week after his last inspection for which he gave the tree a clean bill of health, the tree split in half. After we had the tree removed it was reinspected by another company. When the tree was inspected , it was shown to have substantial rot in the main trunk (25-30 vertical feet) in an area that is a common problem with oak trees. We had this arborist to come out and reinspect all of our other trees, many of which had problems that needed to be dealt with. I would recommend that you DO NOT use this company. He speaks a great line, but our experience was that he was completely wrong in his assessment. We were very lucky that the tree didn't fall on anyone or anything.

He arrived when he said he would arrive. He did both yards and nothing cleaner than when he scanned. He worked quickly and quietly because my wife works night shifts and slept through all of it.

Emerald Tree Company is the best. They are extremely reasonable. The owner of the company, Jim Wentworth, is a certified master harvester. He is one of the few in the state. He really knows what he is doing. I also keep telling my neighbors about him because I want them to keep their trees trimmed up so that it doesn’t come penetrating through my windows. So, couple of my neighbors uses him as well. His workers are great. He always comes himself on every job, of-course accompanied by his crew.

Jim Wentworth Plato is a Master Arborist. A tree hugger at heart, he puts his finest efforts into making trees healthy so they will prosper. Jim has been taking care of our trees since 2001 when we moved into this home. The 130 foot monster Douglas Fir trees are a real chore to trim, but Jim and his crew do a fine job of it. I am very pleased with Emerald Tree services and will continue to use them as I have for the past 10 years. Their clean up makes it hard to tell they have ever been there.

They are very responsive, punctual and also very pleasant.

We received exactly what we were looking for from this consultation. Jim was knowledgeable and helpful, and his follow up report came in a timely manner. He mentioned how his company could provide some of the needed services, but did not push these services.

Reasonable cost, excellent work. They clean everything up after they're done. He's a board certified master arborist, so he knows what he's doing.

Jim came in under estimate. Arrived when he said he would arrive. Clean-up of both yards left them cleaner than before he began! Jim and his crew member worked very quickly and quietly (my wife works night shift and slept through all of it). Jim's encyclopedic knowledge ensures that your trees will be trimmed to maximize health and longevity. Thank you so much.

Jim arrived on time and set right to work. He did all that was planned in a shorter time than scheduled, so he used the remaining time to trim a vibernum sitting next to the now defunct spruce. He did not charge extra for that job. The work was done with great care. Everything was cleaned up right away, leaving us with only a stump and some roots. The trimmed trees look great. A week later, as promised, the stump grinder folks came out and removed the last vestiges of the spruce. Jim is very affable and knowledgeable. He gave us good advice on how to plant a replacement for the spruce. All in all, it was a fine experience. We recommend him highly.

I had a very good experience with this company. The man that gave my wife the estimate, Jim I believe, was very knowledgeable. The crew arrived on time, worked very hard, did a great job cleaning up, and my trees look fantastic. They also finished a little early and Jim deducted the time from estimate, which I never would have thought to ask for. I really feel I couldn't have made a better choice.

This was the fourth project we've used Jim for. He is getting increasingly busy and had to schedule this work several weeks in advance to get on his schedule. However, when we learned that the pruning would delay a remodeling project start, I called him and he rearranged his schedule to work us in a week earlier (and two days after my call). His work is top notch and he does a great job of clean-up after the pruning is completed.

He did a fantastic job. The work was done in March. It is now June, and the trees have lots of fruit and are aesthetically beautiful. I would definitely use him again.

HE WAS VERY ACCOMMODATING. HE ALSO EDUCATED ME ABOUT TREES. HE ANSWERED A LOT OF QUESTIONS THAT I HAD. I THOUGHT HE DID A VERY NICE JOB. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
