Broken Torsion Spring This is the 2nd time I had service from Edelen Doors and Windows Company. The first time lasted 6 years ago, so I can’t complain. As matter of fact, I was really impressed with the technician Santiago Llanos, they sent out to service my broken garage spring. I used to work as a field service tech for Xerox as a copier technician for 10 years, so I know when observing someone’s work will tells me if they are an experienced and knowledgeable person. Santiago knows exactly what he was doing the entire time. He measured & measured and even repositioned the spring mount center-plate that was like that forever. Every little detail was performed flawlessly. Once the springs replacement was done, he then tune-up and lubricated every moving parts of my garage doors hinges and bushings. The entire job went well efficient and he cleaned up every drip on the floor from lubrication. He even advised me not to put too much grease on the screw drive track to prevent grease from dripping from the hot summer. I. Santiago has been doing this for 15 years so I trust his work and would recommend him to anyone who needs service on garage door.

We have used Edelen doors for many years. They have always been prompt, courteous and reasonable.

Kevin was on time and performed the job in a reasonable amount time and at the quoted phone price (which was quite
reasonable compared to the competition).  I initially ask his opinion about fixing my existing unit or just replace it with a new LiftMaster.  His answer seemed genuine, that existing unit is good but it really depends on the existing door's health.  I decided that I would just have him replace the broken Gear Assembly.  After the replacement, he took the time to look at my existing door and made some additional adjustments that made my door open and close so much quieter.  I highly recommend this company and will always ask for Kevin to do my next job.

Ok but guaranty is no good as they are out of business

Came as scheduled and performed the work as requested.
At the time (August 2013) they had a store close to my house in SW Portland. The store has since closed.

We got 3 bids.  The lowest bidder wasn't a Marvin Window dealer and could not provide the window we ultimately selected.  The salesman for Edelen  was very helpful.  We had intended to have a double casement window, like the original window in our 1934 home.  But the salesman pointed out how much the center divider would block our view and minimize the natural light into our kitchen (it's the only window in our kitchen).  He suggested an awning window and took us to his home to show us the awning window in his kitchen.  His suggestion was the right choice.  Once we signed a contract, Edelen sent out someone to take exact measurements to make sure the correct size was ordered.   It took nearly two months from down payment to installation since the window was a custom size.  The installation crew did a good job, and cleaned up after themselves.  We are very satisfied with the quality of the door & window, and the workmanship.

It went terribly. Let me be clear: DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. IT HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. After placing the order on October 2, we called the salesman to make sure everything was in order. He was out and we left a voicemail for him. He never returned our phone call. Then, on October 10th, growing nervous with the lack of communication, I spoke to a receptionist, who said that the order was never placed! I gave her our VISA number, and placed the order again. This time, I asked for a copy of the sales receipt, which Edelen emailed us. Edelen said the window would be ready in two to three weeks, but that they would call us with an exact date. But NO ONE EVER CALLED. In the meantime, we continued calling Edelen back, with the same question: and quot;When will the order be ready? We are all awaiting its delivery so the job can begin in earnest.and quot; Our calls were never returned. My husband called repeatedly; I called several times; and the contractor himself called three times. Each time we were given the same answer: and quot;We will have someone call you back with the date.and quot; But they never did. When we called the president of the company, Steven Hunt, we were told he was unavailable, and his voicemail box was and quot;full.and quot; Finally, we called again today, because the sheetrockers were here, ready to demolish the outer wall, where the window would go. The contractor called Edelen yet again, to the same run around. I then called, reached a salesman, who said he would look right into it and get back to me. He did not. I called again, and reached a receptionist. I told her of our growing exasperation, and she put me on hold. Then, she got back to me: and quot;The reason you don't have a date is that the order was never placed.and quot; What?! I told her we had a receipt from Edelen and a VISA bill showing that Edelen was paid for the order on October 10th! I told her we had tried calling Edelen at least a dozen times and Edelen had never returned our calls! The receptionist was not contrite, however. and quot;We can place the order today, and the window should be ready in three weeks.and quot; How can you trust a company like that? There was no apology, no offering to and quot;make things right.and quot; We tried calling the owner again, Mr. Steven Hunt, but were routed to a and quot;full mail boxand quot; and told he was out. Needless to say, we are very disappointed in this company. I have asked for our money back and will never deal with them again. All of us, including the contractor, are flabbergasted by the utter lack of professionalism and complete lack of follow-through and ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE of Edelen Custom Exteriors.

They came out and look at it and they were able to remove the center post because it was not a load bearing post and put us in one double garage door. They did an excellent work. They came out and checked it out. They were very careful. If we ever had any more door work to be done, we would probably go back to them. They did such a good job with our door. If we ever have window work done, we would probably go to them also. We were really pleased with them. I would definitely recommend them.

Edelen's teams are the best! Everyone showed up on time and gave me every confidence that they knew their business. They got the job done, identified the underlying, original problem and solved with with a good quality window. I am extremely pleased.

I did not care for the salesman but the carpenter that did the work was fantastic.

We ordered the windows in April through Edelen Custom Exteriors. They weren't installed until September. Since November I've had a problem and they haven't been getting back to me.
We put in windows. 2 of the windows are stationary French Doors.
When they were there they gave very good service, they were great. There was a problem with one of the windows. We paid to have it prefinished and it isn't. It took me a little while to figure out why it looked different. When I contacted them about it they said they would check into it, but we were really clear what the person that was assigned to us, who was very slow at returning phone calls, remeasuring, those types of things. The quality of the product was great. I would consider that a complaint. We had to pay for half of it up front, which was in April, they didn't order them until July or August. When they installed them I had asked repeatedly about discounting them because we lost the interest on the money. When it came time to pay the bill and they have the installers correct it. I said, they still haven't let me know how much of a discount they are going to give us. They had the installers collect the money. I thought that's not fair to the installers. They have a bill and they have to pay it, they have to collect it. I said, and quot;You're not getting the full amountand quot; It was very simple, I'd already discussed it with the guy with the representative 3 or 4 times and he had not gotten back to me on it.

excellent, precise measuring for an odd, oversized space. the new door was installed carefully and flawlessly. It opens and closes perfectly and quietly. The gentleman who installed it was careful and efficient, and extremely courteous. I highly recommend Edelen for a garage door!

A quick 2 day job plus, Jesus offered to haul away my old storm windows for free and gave me a $200 discount due to the delay in getting the windows ordered. Excellent work with no defects.

The windows are good and high quality.

The experience with them was great. They were local. They were prompt. They used quality products. They were very professional but friendly. They were on time. There was no warranty but I felt the price was not over priced. The product was of good quality and they sell good product. Their workers were amazing. I would highly recommend them over anybody else we looked at. I would definitely use their services again in the future. In fact, we were planning on it; we are going to be doing some more work.

We received help in selecting the products, a visit to our home for a pre-measure and bid, and then there was a professional followup measurement as double check before installation. The installation went smoothly, quickly, and everything was cleaned up. All along the way, everyone involved was able to answer any of our questions or concerns to our complete satisfaction.

The installation went well. However the communication for start date required many phone calls on our part to find out when the windows came in and when installation will occur. The finished product is great. My husband was surprised by the bathroom window which was glazed. It would have been nice to have a choice of a regular window or glazed/privacy window. We were pleased with the price and the workmanship. The communication was the biggest problem. We wanted to get an estimate for a front door and no one replied to our email or phone messages for a price quote. I can only assume that they don't want our business.

Job was performed as bid.

They gave great service. They are a local company so they are located close to us. They have good range of products, and they were very knowledgeable. Everything was done in a timely manner.Overall they were good.

They came and gave the estimate on time. They were professional. They were punctual.

I can only nice things about them. They went above and beyond and fixed our door so that we don't have to buy a new one. The door they fixed came off again and I called them and they came and fixed the door again. I will definitely use them again in the future.
