DZ ALTERATION & TAILOR

Quickly decided what alterations needed to be made, did not engage differing opinion
Though had the 5 articles of clothing ready on the appointed date I had to wait for them to be ironed.

My experience was excellent; she was very professional, clear about pricing, had job completed on time; pant legs on 2 pants slightly longer than needed, she quickly fixed them on the spot. I was very pleased with the service.

The suit looked great when she finished. It was unwearable when we went in, looked very good when we left.

My first pair of pants took two tries to get right. The results were satisfactory. After three tries on a second pair of pants, I took the incorrectly completed job elsewhere, although the shop offered to try again. The men's shirts promised for pick-up had not been started, so I took them elsewhere too. The emphasis appears to be on high volume and low prices, rather than quality. There is no 3-way mirror or hand-held mirror, discouraging clients from thoroughly checking fit. A good place for simple alterations at low prices. For more complex tasks, you need a lot of patience and some luck.

While the lovely women at DZ Alternation rarely answer their phone, the quality of their work is hard to beat. I received very quality alternations and was waited on hand and foot while they were working with me on the alterations. The fact that DZ is used by a few of the boutiques in downtown Portland put me at ease. And their prices for original hems on jeans (a must-have for a shrimp like me!) are very reasonable. Two tips - make sure you correctly and legibly fill out the information on your ticket, and bring cash with you when you pay. If you're looking for a place that has fantastic customer service, this isn't always the place to get it, but if you want quality alterations done, go here!

They took it in in the back and tightened the traps on both suits. She is so busy that she will promise a date that it will be ready and sometimes it is not done. However, she does great work.

Owner did not keep time commitments. I had to return 5 times, and wait over a month for work to be performed. Work was promised to be ready on 5 different specific dates. Even after calling to ensure work was finished, I would arrive and it would not be completed. It is very difficult to park in the area, so experience was even more frustrating.
