Dynamic Drywall (DD) of Oregon was the subcontractor doing the drywall installation in my house. I tried mediating with DD three times prior to Small Claims court. I had a lot of issues with DD's workmanship and customer service. It's a bit much to get into here, so I'll keep my review short. If anyone is interested then I'll email pics of their work. One of the owners, Sherri Evans, threatened me with a defamation lawsuit after I had a lawyer write DD a straightforward, professional letter stating my concerns about their company's workmanship. The letter was a requirement per Washington state law. She wrote back, if you have "any derogatory statement, or actions about Dynamic Drywall, we will have no other choice to file a grievance for defamation of character with our attorney." This was the threat and the implication was lawsuit. A grievance means less than nothing because I'm a private customer not a business. The other owner, Terri Evans, engaged in character assassination and in my opinion tried to make himself the victim in Small Claims court. He said that I made him scared. Here's the direct quote, "...he sent an email saying he doesn't want us on the job anymore...it starts getting a little scary for me. Um because he was like oh we're not coming back to finish...". He also accused me of bullying based on my emails/phone calls, and he said I threatened his worker's safety. It was Winter time, and he said I was demanding that his workers travel in the snow. I've never personally met either owner or talked to them directly outside of court. Finally he said under oath that the mud & tape was completed. I have pictures of his company's workmanship and pictures that show that the mud & tape was not completed by a reasonable person's standards. My camera couldn't capture the small detail of pockmarks in the mud joints. The pockmarks still exist even after 2 coats of primer, texture, and 2 coats of paint. For Small Claims court I submitted pictures of my scratched bathtub as evidence. I accused DD of scratching the tub based on a drywall screw that was in the tub and the fact that they were the only contractor working in the house. Dynamic Drywall of Oregon said that my evidence (pictures) was hearsay. Dynamic?! I guess it depends on what dictionary you're using to define "hearsay".
