Al spoke with me several times on the phone and by text, calling me back several times before I even met him, let alone hiring or paying him. He guided me to pick the right tester and tests to perform, saying he hoped to get it fixed without any cost to me. I was unable to fix it despite his phone assistance, so he came over and in a couple of hours traced the problem and replaced all 3 outlets - not a trivial task due to the old wiring and plaster & lath construction. His rate is lower than some, and I felt very good to pay a bit more than his rate

Al called me right back after I'd made initial contact.  I wasn't able to leave a message, but he got me by using caller ID.  He came out and looked at the job the same day and gave an estimate, explaining what would need to be done.  We agreed to have him do it, and he came out the next morning, promptly at 10, when he said he'd be there.  We have an old 1926 house, so he wasn't real sure what he was going to run in to.  But as he started, he explained some of the risks, and we agreed to go ahead with the repair.  
   Al was right on task, did the job as professional as the situation would allow, and offered some good advice and conversation.  He was a pleasure to work with.  He got the job done on time and on budget, which was great for all since it was such a short notice.
   I would without hesitation all Al again if I had another electrical job to do.

The light to our dining room/kitchen went out and we called around to a few different places. Of the three companies that called us back or picked up their phone, the earliest appointment any place had was 10 days out. I didn't feel like cooking in the dark for a week. Al was referred to us by our plumber and he called me back within 10 minutes. 3 hours later, our lights were fixed. Only downside was that the work took about 10 minutes and he charged his minimum hourly rate of $105. That's not so much of a complaint because we understand that the guy needs to eat, but just be aware if you think a job might take a short amount of time. Otherwise, Al was great.

I called Al at Durant Electirc because I needed a few things done in my condo. He showed up on time with an assistant. My patio had no outlets at all and I wanted to be able to plug in a string of lights out there without having it to come from inside my condo. So, he drilled into the wall and put an electrical outlet outside. There are also 2 wall unit heaters that needed to be replaced to be more efficient. They were completely replaced. I had a ceiling fan in the dining room replaced as well. He had come by the previoous Monday and gave me a bid on how much things would cost. He showed up on the proposed day on-time with a helper. They worked on the patio outlet 1st. After that they came into the dining room and Al changed the wall heater while his helper did the ceiling fan. They then went into the bedroom and changed the last wall heater. The only time consuming part was the patio outlet, but they finished on-time and everything was perfect. The thing that I really liked was that everything was done and checked so thoroughly, and I have had no problems with any of the work. Just good service at a good price. I called around and some of the bigger companies seemed to charge more so this worked well for me.

We called Al because he was close and because of the good reviews here. He performed as the reviews suggested. He was glad to come over late in the day to handle our small job. He explained things well, and was good to work with. I'd certainly call him for our next electrical job.

Al was great to work with, prompt and very knowledgeable. He knows the electric code and does everything accordingly.

He and his worker showed up on time and were very considerate and competent to work with. He had to drill some holes in the siding to install a new eyebolt anchor for the electrical connection, and checked with us on every step to make sure he didn't do any damage to our house. They finished the work in two days, just as he said, made sure the place was as clean as when they arrived, and made sure everything passed inspection when the city came out. I was so pleased to work with an old-school electrician who is both excellent at what he does, and so helpful and pleasant to work with.
