Love the final product. We got to pick the wood source, the install went smoothly and the stairs look and feel great. I never thought I would say stairs "feel great" but the amount of times we would walk on them and try to avoid the cracked step, or try to not make noise at 3 in the morning really adds up - these things are dead silent now. And the ask to install into a 1900's built home added a level of difficulty for everyone involved. Eddie and Doug know their stuff! My only issue was that I hadn't considered the additional need of caulking and repainting the trim around the stairs. I managed to find another painting contractor to handle that, but we hadn't planned that expense. Not really Domino's fault per se, but whatever.

The crew was professional to work with. Good communication as to how the job was progressing and what they were going to accomplish each day. I have received many compliments on my new floors.

We had some chemical sensitivity concerns, and Eddie was great at explaining the differences between the products. We ended up going with HD Traffic, because he explained the 2 day curing time meant that most of the off gassing would happen at that time. He also explained that polyurethane was better then the hardening oils that which quoted the zero VOC. They said that it would take a week, and finished with time to spare.
I stopped to visit a couple times during the work, and was please that they explained what was going on. There was an amazing lack of dust and felt the painting we had done caused more dust. The off gassing was as he said, and within a couple of days it was hard to tell that the floors were done. Again our Zero VOC paint was way more problematic off gassing (couple weeks before we could be in the house).
We were very pleased and would recommend them in a flash. The price was a higher than the rest, but we felt the result was worth the price. We love the wood gates they installed; they look original, and every comments that our floors are beautiful.

Eddie was prompt in both his appts and follow up quotes. He answered all our questions thoroughly, even working up examples of different finishes/fillers before the job began. His team worked quickly and professionally, removed all dust at the end of every day, and overall did an excellent job. Eddie was roughly 5% higher than others, but he has been doing this a long time and his experience was worth the extra cost. In talking with other contractors who do flooring on the side, or as part of a broader remodel, it was clear Eddie knew the right and wrong way to do things. His crew was great, but consider too that Eddie's actually on-site a great deal of the time actually doing the work.

His advice before the job began was spot on. For ex, we had wanted to go with wide 6and quot; floor pieces but he cautioned us it would show some gaps during the dry months as the air in the house became drier. He was on target with his advice....we went with 4and quot; instead and are very happy.

Eddie was also willing to come out months after the job was completed to answer a few questions we had about cleaning the floor. Great service.

Eddie did a fantastic job at updating our house to beautiful bamboo floors.
He was very responsive to see our house and schedule installation within 2 weeks of our move from NYC to Portland. Eddie had great input on what layout and product would best fit our house as well as proper care. While we prepared for our move in NYC, Eddie and his team went to work in our house and by the time we arrived in PDX the flooring was finished and absolutely gorgeous! After the installation, we noticed a couple gaps near the baseboard where the floor had shifted. Within 2 days of calling Eddie, he arrived at the house and fixed the problem - I was very impressed with his responsiveness and care. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for flooring installation as well as having a smooth and easy experience. Thank you Eddie!!

It was done in a timely manner. He (Eddie) and his employees were professional. they cleaned up after themselves. There was little ot no dust left. And the results were lovely. If I ever have hard wood floors to install or refinish I will go back to Domino.

I found Domino via the ReDirect guide. The first contact with Eddie was good and he was prompt and prepared for the estimate. We waited a couple months before having the work done and Eddie sent an updated quote quickly. Our choices for finish were Satin or semi-gloss. We went back and forth on which to choose. Though we'd seen examples of both at the time of the original estimate, some time had passed and we couldn't recall which we liked better. Eddie said no problem. He brought out samples the day the work started and we quickly made our decision (semi-gloss for sure!). We also ordered 3 register vents in red oak to be installed flush with the floor. I recommend spending the little extra money for this. The workers came in and got right down to business. They were polite and professional. That night I came home to find the first steps completed: sanding and oil sealer. It looked great! The next day they started at 8 and went to work on applying the first coat of finish. That all went as planned. Day three came and the final coat of finish was applied. We were cautioned to be very careful about raising any dust as the finish dried on this last day. That morning Eddie came by and gave us a small care package with floor cleaner and a "Welcome packet". It's a small token but a nice touch. I would use Domino again for flooring. They did a great job. They were also very punctual. I should note that there was very little dust from all this work. They use a vacuum system that works really well. Follow up items: I had to have the workers come back out to sand a register vent to fit. I think the wood must have swelled just enough to make it too tight. After about 15 minute's work they were done.

From the start I knew we'd probably go with Eddie. He knew his stuff, he was punctual, he wasn't phased by our house (being from 1912 there are lots of surprises). He laid the floor over our existing floor (which was just sub-floor anyway because of the previous owners) and used a low VOC finish on them. They are wearing great. We went with Eddie especially because he specialized in eco-friendly flooring solutions.

The final result was good. There were several installing errors that we (the home owners) noticed as the floor was placed. We talked with Eddie Diaz and all the errors were corrected. When the old flooring was removed there was an area of rotted sub floor that the contractor would not repair. Luckily for us we are experienced in this type of repair and got it done ourselves over the weekend. The rot caused Eddie to send his crew to another job, which had us worried that we might not see them for a long while, but they were back and finished the job promptly. Eddie was responsive to our calls and concerns.

The demolition was quickly done; install of floors was done well and went fast also; the crew always cleaned up after each project segment. Since our project was interrupted by the January '07 snow storm, Eddie kept us updated on delivery, etc. He got our project started as soon as possible. Throughout the project, Eddie offered advice on floor maintenance, we found his advice invaluable. We appreciate the attention to detail like finding and staining moulding to match other parts of the house. I highly recommend this company.
