Dick's Color Center

Awful. Don't use this store.

My wife and I just purchased a house built in the mid-1970s and are in the process of renovating it. My wife is an artist and I also have an art background, so we never dreamed of not being able to pick our own paint colors. After spending a week and half and not getting anywhere  but confused, our house painter, Miguel Rodriguez of Quality Paint of Salem (who by the way is an excellent painter) recommended that we go to Dick's Color Center in Beverton. Miguel said that he buys all of his Benjamin Moore paint from Dick's Color Center. 
When we arrived, we were greeted by Patrick McGill, their color consultant. As soon as we spoke to Patrick, we knew immediately that he really knew his stuff. It turns out that Patrick has been doing color consulting and interior design for a very long time and also was a master paint mixer. We had Patrick come to our house and go over the activities in each room, our feelings about various colors and shades. Within an hour, a week and a half of confusion had cleared,  and we had an terrific color scheme. Going to Dick's Color Center and hiring Patrick as a color consultant was the best $150 we spent on our renovation. I only wish we had known about him earlier. 
As far as purchasing paint from D****, we did not deal with them directly. However, our painter is very happy with their service and this is why they are his Benjamin Moore dealer of choice. In the end, the paint quality was terrific, the colors were spot on. We couldn't be happier!

They do all my carpet and tiling. They carpeted my entire house and did some linoleum flooring in the kitchen, dining and entry way. They are very nice to deal with. They are very knowledgeable and honest. I have used them for 12 years and my husband for 30 years. They give you the best deals and great quality. They are in business for a long time and know their products very well. They ensure to treat everyone the same, irrespective if it’s a big or a small project. He gives everyone undivided attention. I like their services and will use the same in future.

They are absolutely wonderful at working with people on rentals. They work with us on getting better prices. Very honest and helpful. They have been in business a long time and are very knowledgeable because of it. I know they won't steer me wrong. I know the advice is accurate. The workers are reliable as well.

The flooring was on sale. We were given a quote by the son of the owner. We made the purchase, had the wood delivered to our home and then the son of the owner called us and told us he had made an error and that instead of $4000.00 it was actually going to cost us $8000.00. Being naive, not having ever hired out this type of work before we bit the bullet and agreed for some stupid reason. I guess because we just had our fireplace refaced, carpet torn out and were down to bare floor. We had the flooring already at our home so we thought it was an honest mistake. Now that we've had more experience we know that we should have made them stick to the original contract. So I base my report on the unprofessional, poor communication and the fact that after it was done they never even followed up to see if we were satisfied with the work. As it turned out the flooring is pretty and the contractors did a fairly good job laying it except that they missed filling many of the tiny nail head indentations. It looks nice but another thing is that they didn't finish the stairs. They left the stair backs unfinished. We were disappointed and felt ripped off with the doubling of the cost. I used to buy all of my paint and painting supplies there but I haven't ever gone in there again since the flooring fiasco. There was no apology from the owner or the son. In fact he was quite arrogant so we don't want to give them anymore of our business.

They were wonderful. We had someone else install it because we wanted a very particular kind of installation that only one person in the Portland area knows how to do. The price was very reasonable and it was high-end vinyl. We were going to carpet the rest of our house and we went back to them for a particular kind of carpet and they never got back to me but they were not particularly optimistic about it. They are not cutting edge on the latest thing. What we were looking for was cutting edge and we may still get it from them because we haven't bought it yet We would definitely use them again. We tell other people that they are great. If they say they would have something, they will have it.

Lou farmed out the work, but all of the dealings I had with him, up until the actual installation, were really good. Lou is very friendly. Lou and his father own Dicks Color Center. Lou has a brother that works there as well, but mostly I worked with Lou. He came out several times, because there was quite a time difference between when we first talked to Lou and when we finally decided to go ahead and do it. He left samples and I just took my time looking at other places. I wanted to do business with Lou because he was just so nice, so I went back when it became time to put the carpeting in. Dicks Color Center ended up being the best price for it. We were really happy with the carpet and the people who came out to install it. They were fast professional and friendly.

His people showed up on time and did the work at scheduled. They did a wonderful job, I have no complains. They are a very good company to work with. I have used them for numerous jobs over the past eight years.

The work was great! We are so happy with the results. One gentleman did the whole job from start to finish. Excellent clean up. Outstanding workmanship. Done in a very timely manner. VERY competitive pricing.

They have the eco-friendly paints which my wife wanted. They have good quality & selection and a knowledgeable staff.

Dick's Color Center had previously installed new vinyl for me in this duplex and they have done carpet and linoleum in three other rentals plus my own home. Lou is knowledgeable about his product, shows up on time, gives a competitive price, and is really great to deal with. The installer did a great job, completed the job on time and cleaned up afterwards.

They gave a good estimate, evaluated my current flooring, gave good advice, were right on time with the installation, and cleaned up when they were finished.

I HAVE BOUGHT EVERY FLOOR IN TWO HOUSES FROM THEM OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS. THEY ALWAYS HAVE THE BEST PRICES. THEY ARE VERY ACCOMMODATING, VERY PROFESSIONAL, AND THEY ARE A SMALL COMPANY AND SO THEY CARE ABOUT WHAT THEY DO. THESE PEOPLE ACTUALLY HAVE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK. THEY HAVE PRIDE AND WORKMANSHIP.

EVERYONE HERE WAS WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH. THE PRICES WERE GREAT AND THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT OPTIONS WERE EXCELLENT. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND GOING HERE FOR ANY PAINT AND FLOORING NEEDS.
