Deluxe Heating and Cooling

Deluxe is FANTASTIC! I wanted a heat pump installed with my oil furnace as back-up. I didn't want to trash a perfectly functional furnace and tank. Seemed like such a waste. Other companies didn't know enough about oil furnaces and could only offer to scrap my oil and replace with electric or natural gas. Deluxe KNOWS OIL and did a great job setting me up. Any problems I had, they came out immediately and fixed it (even on the 24th of December!). I love my heat pump and the oil furnace is right there when it gets a little too cold for the pump to work efficiently. I can't recommend Deluxe highly enough!

finds a challenge because of parts availability or to fix prior technician?s
mistakes, Peter takes care of the details to achieve solutions.  
Better still, Peter is gracious and friendly. The world needs more people like Peter.
 
The oil furnace is approximately 60 years old. 
 
Too often technicians show up at my house and try to sell me a
replacement without looking at the furnace first.  They prefer to sell new heating systems, not
repair furnaces.  I have had the experience
of more than one technician telling me before he has arrived at the furnace that
I need to replace it.  They decide when the hear the furnace's age, and before they evaluate what the problem is.
 
My hunch is most of the technicians are unmotivated to achieve
excellence and to help people.  Some  people take a job because of the money or their family connections, and not because they love. their work They get hired for their salesmanship rather than their  mechanical talent..
In
contrast to the typical furnace repair person, Peter is amazing as a technical
expert.  Before I found Peter, I had
countless experiences with different technicians who did not care whether they
fixed the furnace or not.  Like zombies going
through the motions thoughtlessly, other technicians were indifferent to putting
in extra effort to deal with troubleshooting something out of the
ordinary.  
Finding replacement parts for an obsolete furnace is not easy.In contrast, Peter has a great
depth of knowledge, he loves fixing equipment and finds creative, practical and safe work-arounds, when needed.  
By a patter of consistent behavior, Peter shows by doing how much he cares about doing the best he can at whatever he does.
 
Peter strives to be helpful and responsive.  I can?t say enough positive things about his
kindness, work ethic, caring and mechanical expertise, and ethical business practices.  I
admire Peter.  Not only does Peter
service the furnace, he educates me about D-I-Y solutions on how to re-set the 
sometimes finicky old furnace.  His aim is  to help me avoid unnecessary expenses and to keep me safe and warm in my home.
 
Deluxe?s prices are reasonable and competitive with other
repair places whose competence is marginal (or worse) when it comes to a 60
year old oil  obsolete furnace.  The difference
with Deluxe compared to its competitors is excellence and a genuine orientation to helping people in a
neighborly fashion.  Customer service
sounds like ?corporate speak? cliché, but Peter provides outstanding customer
service.
 
 Eventually, I will
need to buy a replacement furnace. For years, Peter
has been very helpful in helping me make understand the technical requirements
to purchase the right unit for the size of my house and the various choices.  His approach is scientific and based on data, not slogans from brochures and marketing campaigns. 
 
Formerly, Peter worked for another company before he became
the owner of his own business.  So, I
amassed my opinion of him over a period of at least 15 years.  

During this hot stretch of spring weather we found our AC unit located in our second floor attic constantly running, but not cooling the upstairs. We left a message with Deluxe Heating and Cooling with our dilemma and they returned our call the next morning. They were very polite over the phone and schedule a time that day. Peter, the owner, came out later that day to checked out our system. The location of the system was through the ceiling of my son's bedroom closet, so it was not easy to get to. Peter was very personable and knowledgeable about his work, not high pressure at all.  We talked about our options and the different Trane systems that he installs. He was honest about what we actually needed, not what the other companies wanted to sell us. He checked out the furnace coupled with the AC and explained the possible trouble areas on older furnaces. Peter showed me that everything looked very intact with no corrosion or cracks or shorted areas and said we probably had another 8-10 years so we didn't necessarily need to change the heating AND cooling. We chose his bid which was lower than the others and he and his crew were out promptly the morning after we called to accept the bid. The two main crew besides himself were Dale and Nick. They were very polite and professional as well as the others that came out to help. The guys kept the house fairly clean for having to take the stairs to the second floor and using a ladder to squeeze through a hole in a closet up into an attic full of blown-in insulation. They took about 5 hours on the job which included taking out the old AC unit and platform, replacing it with a new platform and AC, replacing the condenser unit in the attic, running new pipes, drains, and wires up the side of the house and into the attic, soldering the copper piping, replacing our old thermostat, having an electrician come out to check the wiring and power, charging the system with coolant, and running efficiency tests. Because of their tight schedule they came out the next day to cover lines and wires going up the side of the house with Line Hide system which looked just like one of our existing gutter drains. The guys were truly awesome in that they were able to do the job so promptly and professionally! They fit us in before another big job they had because he heard we had been suffering from not having a cool place to sleep. KUDOS to Peter and his crew at Deluxe Heating and Cooling! We will be using you in the future for our heating and cooling needs.

The technician was polite and thorough. He gave the furnace a check-up and recommended a replacement of the furnace due to age/parts availability. He was not pushy or aggressive. Deluxe will follow up with a new furnace quote. We recommend working with Deluxe in the future. Small company, great service.

We have a home warranty company and they paid for a part of it.  We also paid.  The people who came out were really nice.  They were here right on time and didn’t make me wait.  They worked very quickly.  They left a really big mess behind them all down the hallway.  There was insulation and so forth everywhere.  It was like they didn't care that there would be a huge mess that I would have to follow behind them and clean up.  I would probably use them again, though.  They weren't the best, but they were pretty good.  Their price was pretty comparable to that of other companies.

They did really well. They were very professional and did a great job protecting my carpet. The owner responded to a specific request I had with creativity and did exactly what I wanted. The furnace is working well and we haven't had any problems with is.

Our furnace ran out of oil Thursday night. Deluxe filled the tank Friday morning while I was at work. When I returned home the furnace wasn't working. I called, and the manager, Craig, advised me to "bleed" the line myself, which didn't work. I was advised to bring the nozzle in before 5pm, or else it would be the weekend. I could tell Craig was annoyed with my call. I did not want to risk further frustration or damage so Craig said he would call me on Monday to schedule a service. Two days with NO heat followed. Then Monday morning came...and Craig hadn't called yet. I called the office instead and was informed (after-the-fact!) that there WAS weekend service, though Craig hadn't mentioned it at all! I asked to speak to the owner. After a very long discussion with the owner, Michelle, she offered $20 off my bill as well as some tips to keep the nozzle from clogging again. I am still a little miffed about everything but at least Michelle offered something.

Brian who provided the quote was very knowledgeable and answered all of my many questions. He had all the right answers (I know because I thoroughly researched them beforehand and had even called the furnace manufacture.) Brian was straightforward and not a phony sales person. He didn t try to push things I didn t need. He was a pleasure to deal with. They installed the furnace without a problem. They came when they said they would. It went smoothly. It s been a year, and I haven t had a problem. They know what they re doing.

My wife began calling around to get quotes for oil prices per gallon, Deluxe was at the lower end of the spectrum. They were also very professional and courteous on the phone. My wife felt that they actually cared about making their customers happy and were concerned about making it to our house before the end of the day. We will definitely use them in the future.

My furnace failed to come on just as a streak of cold weather set in. I called Deluxe and they arrived within three hours of my call. (They called me at work and I returned home rather than waiting around). At first it looked like the furnace might be on it's last legs but fortunately it just needed a tuneup. Deluxe offers a one year maintenance contract for $150, includes annual tune-up, priority status for emergencies, no diagnostic charge and a modest discount of repair parts. The contract was just $10 more than the regular service call so I splurged;a modest bit of extra insurance considering the age of my furnace.

On time, polite and very reasonably priced. Very thorough in their evaluation and did not try to oversell things we didn't need. They cleaned everything up perfectly and what a difference their work has made. Would definitely work with them again.

I have used this company for over 25 years. They are the only company to touch the furnace since it was installed. They have performed miracles, and this was one of them. They worked for about 2 hours, got it purring like a cat, and that's the way it has run since. They're prompt, reliable, reasonable and they stand behind their work.
